Failed to get update. Please check your internet connection

Haven’t been able to play for a week due to the same issue. Ready to drop Hearthstone because of this. How can such a HUGE issue (1) happen in the first place, and (2) not be immediately addressed instead of persisting for a month?

I am also having this problem on both my iPhone and iPad. Hearthstone wasn’t even installed on my iPad previously, so this was a fresh install and I still had the problem.

Having this problem since the 14.4 patch. I tried to uninstall and reinstall. Every time it worked without login. However, after I logged in and quitted Hearthstone, the problem returned the next time I tried to open the game.

And I am not the only person who has this problem. Players are complaining EVERYWHERE.

I am also having the same issue! iPhone X. Tried all of the above still can’t connect.

Same issue for over a week now. Highly disappointing. What gives, Blizzard?

Having the same issue here, the game doesn’t stop showing this error screen everytime I start it.

I have an iPhone SE, 64GB.

Same issue, Iphone 7

Same here, uninstalled and reinstalled a few days ago. Worked for a while, now it’s back.

Try rotating while the app is loading. I figured I’d give that a try before sitting through full download and update and rotated for a few minutes after the error popped up. Went back and reread a few replies above and saw someone said to do it while loading. Gave it a shot and one rotation later the error changed to “checking version” and it all works fine now. Not sure what a stuck gyroscope would do to the version checker to give the error but the very odd fix worked for me. Good find!

Faced same issue today.
Fortunately I found your comment with workaround and It’s rly works!
Thank you!

Have this issue as well. Got stuck at the doors for like 15 minutes only to get the failed to get update message. Iphone SE. iOS 12.3.1

Android, same issue, reinstalled once, worked ,but not the 2nd time i opened it up. Tried cellar, local library, starcrap coffee and wifi.

Had this issue, deleted and reinstalled the app and could access the game again. However the problem is back after 4/5 days - hope for a fix soon as I don’t feel like reinstalling the game every few days.

I was also seeing a bug where my decks would show as having only 27/30 cards, but just going into my collection restored them to normal. Lastly I was noticing that game performance slowly dropped over time while I was playing (actions took longer to register). Not sure if either of these issues are related to the first one

Still continues tried everything many times

I have the same problem after update. I manage to login at first it doesnt work so i reinstall the app . After few logins it doesnt work again

IOS is not working, keeps saying i Need update and to check my internet connection.

UPDATE: Following @Apalon’s process, I uninstalled then re-installed and it worked for me.

When I open my app on IPhone X 256 Gb with active internet connection as I am replying via the iPhone the hearthstone app says Failed to get update. Please check your network connection.

This message appears instantly after clicking on app icon and after about 3 seconds this appears.

I havent tried uninstalling as I think that’s not the right thing to do as this issue has never happened before and everything was working fine.

EDIT 1: Shut down iphone x and switched back on after 30 secs, still the same issue with instantaneous error as described above.

EDIT 2: Deleted the app. Now in process of downloading it back on the iPhone will let you know of the result in edit 3. Also would like to add I had the option to offload the app but since the blue post recommended to delete the app so thats what I’ve done.

EDIT 3: Working very good just like brand new. Had to download when launched.
