And I agree. Using “it could be like this” arguments do not help.
However, do pay attention. It is said perks can only be bought with runestones. And Those cannot be earnt in game (official announcement), only bought with money. So the thread about that isnt incorrect.

Well, if i cant pick between 4 heroes, ill just leave this and play League of Legends TFT, and good buy greed ones, dont really care how my hero is dressed or how it shakes his hands to do damage,

Still doesn’t change the actual legit critics mentioning the main problem being the pay2win aspect of the choice between 4 or 2 heroes.
I haven’t read a real argument of yours but just critisizing those who dislike the upcoming changes.

Friendly reminder that TFT is not only free, and available on mobile, but ALSO just better and more regularly updated.

Extremely disappointed in the decision to make the battle pass only accessible through real money. This is literally the only game I play. This decision destroys any sense of equity between paying and non-paying players. I do not think Blizzard understands that this change will incentivize quitting lobbies where you don’t get heroes you like, which will be more likely if you dont pay. You either leave early or stay if you find a good hero. Please do not create this kind of degenerate system. I promise that the long-term financial sustainability of Battlegrounds does not lie in fragmenting your playerbase and lessening the quality of the games. Please try to create a new monetization strategy, as I think most players are sympathetic to the need for some new monetization. But this is not the way.

Terrible changes. Why have separate tracks? I want whatever gamemode I’m playing to contribute. I don’t care at all about a separate bg track. I don’t want the cosmetics to begin with. Also, what on earth is with the perks being locked behind a pay wall now? Absolute trash.

If this is true, blizzard is preying on you specifically. (and others like you) you didn’t understand the changes putting the game behind a paywall and you don’t understand how the runestones are designed to make you buy “extra” than what you will need for any pack

The rewards track will contain a free and a paid version, similar to the normal battle pass, however, the choice of 4 heroes instead of 2 will be tied to the paid side of the rewards track, essentially this replaces the “perks” from last season. This new version of the “perks” will not be available for gold, only “runestones” which will be only purchasable with money

also the implementation of an obfuscation currency. good luck buying anything for runestones with the exact amount of runestones you can buy in a “pack”

I agree @Specter, but completely screwing your whole player base shouldn’t be the attempt or result. Unfortunately, they did both in one fell swoop.
Lets also remember, they didn’t do this cause it would bring in LESS money.
Sometime Tomorrow or the day after we’ll get the “We Hear You” post, where they back a few of the changes up, but it will still be predatory. They just can’t help themselves.
At the very least They may have cured my Hearthstone Addiction…

I actually didn’t mind immortal. it was a gacha game designed that way from the start. If you played it and paid money that’s on you.
I do mind the ole bait and switch here though. Making a free game mode (not even full game) monetized and obfuscating cost with an in game currency is where I draw the line. Don’t let the corporate greed seep into every corner of your games…

Don’t like it, blizz.
I play HS a lot. I buy bundles when The sets are good or the meta is fun and I need dust.
I really like that I can play BGs with some spare gold. And I like that both rewards went the same place so I could just do what I feel like or what is fun,
I haven’t played magic for months, HS has been so good.
Can you just keep it good please? None of these changes are good.

This is exactly the play I am anticipating.
They went hard at the greed, had several ideas to back out of it a little without actually conceding anything they wanted, and they will use that to spin it as though they care are helping players.
(I had more to say, but pretty sure my analogy would have earned me a ban.)

Announcing the death of Battlegrounds is more like it. The fact that we won’t be able to use gold to buy perks anymore and are getting a new currency is seriously the push I would need to just uninstall this game. I supported this game for 7 years despite not usually being a fan of online only live service games, and this is just a slap in the face to the consumers. Horrible decision.
