16.0.5 Balance Update - December 19

Oh.
Roguestone is coming!

Mogu and shudderwock(playing off Galakrond) needed fixed. Well, hey, at least they addressed one out of the two.

No nerf to Apothecary and dragon’s pack?Blizzard didn’t sold enough of descent of dragons packs yet? And this silly excuse “let’s see what the meta will look like”, how long are we going to have to play in a crappy meta until you guys make some real change? I’ll never pre order again, thats for sure.

The nerfs to shaman are a lot softer than I expected. That said, I think that they’ll be enough for the aggro decks to take over the meta. Hopefully it’ll settle in a way that we have control decks start to appear again to counter the aggro decks who counter the shaman/rogue decks who counter the control decks.

The only thing I’m worried about that might leave shaman on top is that Dragon’s Pack was untouched. That card is so good against aggro, the deck’s hard counter. At least the Corrupt Elementalist nerf removes Coin>CE>DP and interferes with Kronx>Galakrond.

We’ll know how things will play out by this time next week. Hopefully we’ll see some new decks pop up as a result.

Are you kidding me? This is hardly a nerf, all the issues players had you barley addressed. I will not be purchasing any further card packs from hearthstone if this is how you guys plan to “address the community concerns” . This expansion was full of a bunch of amazing cards which have so much potential to be fun, but have been overrun by Galakrond Shaman which you barley addressed. 3/4’s of the cards you guys released are not being used because they aren’t viable, your solution was to change the attack by 1 or increase the mana by 1?.. Ghetto.

Played 3 tavern brawls today. Faced 3 shamans, playing pretty much the same deck. No wonder this game is being ran to the ground. They just keep adding and adding cards that are way too damn overpowered for any reasonable strategic play. It’s whoever pulls their nonsense first, every game.

I didn’t buy a single pack this expansion yet, not even with gold. I don’t even want to spend my gold with all this garbage, unfun cards.

You morons creating these cards are killing this game.

These are the fastest nerfs and for once they arent nerfing things into oblivion. It’s not perfect but it’s good and shaman has been on a steady decline anyway.

Galakrond is still strong but no dust refund for nerf and barely anyone plays the quest version because its weaker. 2 8/8s is manageable since there are so many shaman counters rn

These are the only changes? IS THIS A JOKE? I knew this would happen. I’ll be waiting for the next round of balance changes of the other broken decks when people will still be complaining except not about Shaman.

Outside of Sludge Slurper, whose nerf I think was unnecessary, I like the changes. :+1:

What are you talking about. 9 mana really kills what made Mogu good. At seven mana you can play it faster and the 8 drops you can evolve to are pretty good. Now it costs 2 more so and while 10 drops are also very good evolve targets, your opponent will have more options to create a board without dealing with an early mogu. Lowering the cost would still make it better because the trade potential with the rush is good. Right now we are in a meta where faster is better.

Evolve is 1 mana, Unstable Evolution which could be crazy in the late game or highrolling with Socerer’s Apprentice or Radiant Elemental AND IT COSTS 1 mana. Putting mutate a 2 mana would make no sense and also makes it incredibly bad. You are forgetting that Mutate costs putting 2 cards in your deck just to evolve ONE MINION. If Mogu and Mutate are taken out of the Galakrond deck for being two slow it opens up 4 cards to possibly build a better synergistic deck or add some much needed sustain or burst.

And what are you complaining about with Sludge Slurper? They are making it a 1/1 but you want it to be a 1/2? I mean I’ll fight for that too. Please give sludge slurper 1 more health.

And yes you are right, the fact there are no nerfs for anything but Shaman will likely make Face Hunter, Hanbuff Rogue, and Pirate Warrior some of the best decks in the meta.

I mean you’d think they would add dragons to battlegrounds, considering we had a entire expansion centered around: DRAGONS. You are right, removing Amalgam and Brann really nerfs Zoobot and Menagerie Magician.

Okay i’ve been in top 200 legend before a few times and i have to say when a deck pretty much wins against all decks it’s bad for the meta (duh obviously). However, i feel like the biggest issue on top of the changes down, was spirit wolf. That card is too overpowered as is. It shuts down aggro completely, it too efficient as is as 10/12 worth of stats in taunts for 5 mana. The current changes are probably not enough. i highly recommend increasing it’s mana cost or just simply reducing it’s stats to a more reasonable level.
Tldr: wolves covers too many bases & needs to be nerfed.

Dear blizz, I will never pay for hearthstone again it is just not good game design anymore. The game is literally unplayable

Since this is just a 1/1 that only adds a lackey, should remove the overload from the card. Not any different from other class “add a lackeys” and none of them punish the player for using them.

Is this a joke?

Faceless Corruptor still allows for an infinte Shudderwock combo when you combine it with Barista Lynchen.

Mogu Fleshshaper might have become more powerful, takes out the tempo a little… I don’t know about this

Dragon’s Pack You did nothing lul

Galakrond, the Tempest should have a higher mana cost so you can’t do it twice with quest.

  • 2x 8/8 rush + 5/2 weapon is OP…
  • 4x 8/8 rush + 5/2 weapon is Super OP…
with Shudderwock or infinte Shudderwock… got damn broken because you can’t deal with that much tempo and value

This is actually a joke, this does next to nothing to solve any actual problems. Guess I’m avoiding HS for a few more weeks since ranked is still gonna be infuriating for anyone who wants to play a deck that isn’t Rogue or Shaman. Shame I was really hyped for this Expansions theme.

I will answer this non sense just with the facts. Lets check last 2 nerfs blizzard made before this. Rogue nerfs : Prep , raiding party , miscreant. Decimated the deck . Galaxy to 7 from 5 : Also decimated the deck. Dr Boom to 9 from 7 : Also decimated the deck. Lets check this ones. Changed nothing actually helped shaman because of nerfing good neutral card : Faceless Corrupter. Now with this non sense changes game will become more aggresife because thats the only way to beat shaman. Where is the control deck of this meta ?? Best decks will be face hunter and dr rogue and aggro shaman was the way to beat those decks but that deck decimated with this nerfs not galakrond shaman. There is a lot of cool cards in the collection but non of them are playable rn. This best 3 deck in the meta rn (Face hunter,dr rogue, galakrond shaman) actually a insult since beta players. They have to make casual noobs happy some how to make money because everyone needs to win games somehow. Im so glad i didnt buy this time im just so happy

Wow guys you really think these nerfs will make any change at all and you people already crying about rogue … Galak Shaman will still be god tier those nerfs are nothing … Next time blizzard can you plz create a poll or something about the nerfs so the community can vote or help you make the nerfs since you proven so many times that you are incapable of making any good balance changes. See ya next expansion
