This silly XP nerf/cap must be removed!!! I want to farm my character to p800 or even 900 but it takes way too long because of this silly XP nerf. I dont care if somebody reaches paragon 1 billion etc, I just wanna play a few hours per day and get my levels but it takes far too much time like this! Punishing others who play more is silly, plz fix this ASAP!
The reason there is an increasing penalty to XP earned as you go further beyond the server’s paragon level is precisely so that players do not out-level available content. Let’s assume you reached Paragon 800. Then what? There’s no INF7 yet. There’d be nothing for you to do for 10 weeks and/or they released higher difficulty content. The cap is there to ensure that the majority of players are playing in the same inferno level together.
This is a design choice you don’t like but it’s working exactly as intended, i.e. as it’s not broken, there’s nothing to fix.
Get your facrs right at least, I6 gear starts whit p800. This XP nerf should start after 800 then.
You also said “or even 900”
And what difficulty would you expect at that level? INF7, right?
Regardless, you’re not going to get what you want. Blizzard intentionally put this mechanic into the game precisely because previous games had endless paragon grinds, e.g. Diablo III, and they don’t want some people to be hundreds of paragon ahead of everyone else because they AFK farm 24 hours a day and then complain there’s no content for them to do.
Do you even read what i wrote? If they dont change this then why cant they let me farm p800 faster and then put this XP nerf on? So I could get to I6. Also i dont even play much, maybe 3h/day, so I should be the one on behind… it means other people are playing even less??
Yes, you wrote…
…and I told you why Blizzard specifically implemented functionality to prevent that.
They’ll likely repeat what they did with INF5, where they greatly reduced the CR requirements for it when the server paragon reached 700. I suspect they’ll do the same for INF6 when the server reaches 800.
Then how do you expect to out-level the server by over 100 paragon?
there is such a thing as over lvling your char and its a real pita to correct. The ‘cap’ is there for a purpose, also if you want you can lvl up to 900… There is no longer a hard cap you just hit 1%. It used to be 0 at 20 over, now it just takes non stop killing. Also if it wasnt there can you imagine all the whales and big spenders who use pilots?
So we should only go up whit difficulty when they nerf things? If you think that then you should not play and you should not awnser my questions, something is not right whit you, bro.
You have no clue what you are talking about. The system has worked well for the almost 3 years of the game and makes the most sense to allow newer players the ability to catch up which means more $. It allows for a balanced level base and set periods for updates and new features.
Gosh, if only someone had called out the Combat Rating requirements being too high.
Oh, wait. Someone did. It was me…
February 6th…
February 15th…
Basically, for over 2.5 years, players had been able to pre-farm the next difficulty so they’d have gear waiting to be equipped when they reach the paragon milestone that allowed them to use it. Then Blizzard changed that with the huge increase needed to reach INF5, and they’ve done the same now for INF6. It’s clearly an intended change, presumably precisely to prevent pre-farming by anything other than the whales (as their high-level, expensive legendary gems give enough CR bonus for them to have enough to be in the next difficulty). However, this just leads to the nonsense of 4-man dungeon groups forming where none of them have the CR for INF6, 3 players will be on INF6 (to get drops), the 4th player is on INF1 killing all the mobs, and they rotate which of them is on INF1 after a few runs.
They should have already dropped the CR requirements for the 5th INF5 boss, the INF5 Gauntlet and INF6 in general by now, but they’ll wait until the server’s paragon 800, which will be 1-2 weeks too late, because most of the players will be 800+ when the server’s 780 or 790.
Blizzard want to prevent players racing ahead in paragon levels.
That’s why the increasing penalty to XP gained was implemented.
Just because you do not like this answer does not mean it’s not the answer.
Diablo Immortal wasn’t the only game with cap.
Most MMO did and they usually raise the cap slowly in major updates.
This is staple feature for most MMO.
my guess is the April update whenever that happens. But we already have an idea what the cr will be at least; they let that slip when they lowered the rest of i5 but seems they’ve scrubbed those #'s from the forums
Not if you know where to look…
If they do reduce the end boss of INF5 to 46.7K, and that’s also the CR for INF6 open-world / standard dungeons, that should be achievable by F2P by the time they hit paragon 800. (I’m at 46.9K already).
I knew I could count on you! Haha I was looking for my comments on the official threads but couldn’t find them. But yeah I bet with the April ‘update’ that will be the new cr. Which makes sense because usually many of us would be preforming by now.
