Gem Surge Event Issues!

Gem Surge - for those that purchased before the correction

I am very confused by the Gem Surge event - and I am very close to quitting this game because of this snafu. When the event came out, I spent about $1,200 to complete the event - to get 9K Fortuitous Blessings - I had a 4/5 gem I wanted to turn to a 5/5. A few days later, I receive communication that there was a miscalculation and that I received an additional 5.5K Fortuitous Blessing. From what I can see, this 5.5K is useless to me as I have no need for it now!!! Essentially “sorry we messed…
