Same. Did the events, cleared the stronghold, changed world-tiers. Nothing.
I even tried luring the enemies up towards the babarians. Then they did attack, and even walked all the way to the final cavern, but the mission is still not completed.
Same issue here, hasn’t resolved. Looks like there are a LOT of threads on this same issue. Not sure if this is helpful for the developers, but here are some of the other threads with the same issue so you can compare experiences:

I have not seen this method here in the posts yet.
When I was doing the Fury Against Fate I had one other quest in the journal, that was also in progress. When I finished that other one and had only Fury Against Fate quest in the journal, then I could complete it. Then indeed, you can’t break the fence in the dungeon before Ealda complete her speech.

Looks like the event outside doesn’t matter. I was able to trigger them to follow multiple times to confirm.
As others said, you are looking for gates to not have a health bar (cant attack) after talking to her.
I think it has to do with getting within ‘visibility’ range to the gate before talking to NPC.
Try:
- Enter.
- Don’t walk directly towards cliff edge (where you climb down). Walk away from gate and hug bottom edge of cliff until you get to climb down.
- Hug right wall until you can click on NPC.
- Run towards gate. If there is a health bar, exit dungeon, exit game, start game repeat.
P.S. was in Tier 1 (if that matters)

Same problem that i have here. Tried reload, cancel quest… do it again… finish the event outside or not… nothing work
Yep, still broken and none of the workarounds in this thread have worked for me.
Update: Finally got it. Only advice I have is just repeatedly leaving game and rejoining until they finally charge the gate. Just make you go outside first before exiting game or it plops you way back in town when you rejoin.

after 9-12 leave game and entering again (no need to close the entire game aka going to desktop just leave the game and enter again) i got the not attackable door… the only solution that works so far but it’s just bizarre that after 12 days blizzard did nothing yet
I know it may sounds crazy but cleaning the nearby dungeon unbugged the quest.
I try after reading this on another discussion.
Take the quest > enter dungeon quest and speak to npc > exit dungeon and enter to nearby > clean the dungeon > exit and enter the dungeon quest > speak to NPC and continue the quest
cannot complete this Quest - tried around 50 times with all info written in here…
leaving the game againg and again, while cleaning the nearby dungeon and event over and over…
unable to complete the quest on 9 out of 10 characters now…

I’m World Tier 3 and I was experiencing this bug. Tried loging out and in again and again while clearing the event outside before and after entering the cave again… Nothing worked. Tried your method and it worked on the first attempt. Thank you!

I’ve tried every single method recommended here and under other topics as well, but they never worked for me. This quest is still bugged, and cannot be done. After the speech, NPC’s don’t charge and even I clear the cave, it is not counted. There should have been a “hot fix” so far!
Just happened to me tried everything like everybody else. It shouldn’t, but knowing its there bothers me.
