Quest: Meet Ealda within wasting hollow.
Upon arrival in the dungeon she goes through her dialogue then it says to slaw the cannibals, which I do and there is no quest progress update. Also it appears like Ealda’s party should be following me but they just stand at the entrance.

+1 here. Quest appears to bug after the group leaders speech and the quest updates to the next stage “clear the cannibal feeding ground”.
Workarond, initiate the chat with the leader of the group then immideately run to the gate at the bottom and hug it. This worked for me.
Same please fix this side-mission.

Doing the outside event first fixed it for me.
Like Mahagon said, if you encounter this problem where it seems bugged, it is because there is a public event outside the cellar that you must complete. Once you complete the event and come back in, you can speak to the quest giver again and the party will follow you down and you will be able to progress.
Still doesn’t work, been trying for three days. NPC doesn’t move after dialogue
I had the same issue. I tried everything people suggested in the other thread. Clear the event, hug whatever, run towards whatever, reenter the dungeon until you don’t see the wall attackable, etc.
What finally worked, and I can’t guarantee it’s a fix, or I just hit my 0.01% lucky dungeon enter.
I grouped with another player. Cleared the event first, and I entered, while they stated outside. And then I just talked to the person, and that worked the very first time.
But like I said, I’m not sure this is a fix, or I just got lucky on that one enter. I was just figuring that with 2 players, I could guarantee the outside zone would be event free.
I’ve tried every fix in this thread. Nothing has worked for me so far.
I tried everything dealing with the public event outside and none of that worked. I eventually got this quest to work. I’m not sure if its placebo, but what worked for me was to talk with the women in the cave and then leave while shes talking. Then come back, hopefully she will move from her spot at this point. This took a couple tries but worked.

Bugged for me, too. She says “together we are the mountain that cannot fall”, the quest objective updates to [kill all the cannibals], and the allies do . . . nothing. If I break the barricade and kill all of the cannibals, still nothing. If I kite some cannibals up to draw the allies to the pit, then kill them all, still nothing. If I log out and back in, or quit the game and restart, still nothing. I give up. Blizzard, please fix this quest. It’s clearly broken.
Yea, this is bugged out… none of the suggested approaches help to fix it - likely it’s one of those quests where 1/100 times it works, the rest of the time it’s broken. Fixytime needed… for a quest line ending.
Yeah, same for me. It bugged out a few times. I did get it to work with the method Proxim suggested. I interacted with the NPC, then immediately climbed back up and stood right against the exit.
It’s still obviously a bug that does need to be fixed.
