D3 remake/remaster?

Even if you refused to believe me, how about posters from the D2R forum that they followed D2 news closely than mine? :sunglasses:

You can argue “planning” isn’t a “promise” but I am sure many people buying D2R were expecting continued and long-term support and development for D2R, a live-service game..

At least D3, a live service that its 2nd expansion got canned and abandoned still getting new stuff in every season until season 28+. Maybe because it still selling and eventually reach 65M copies.

By the way, I also remember vaguely that the dev from SCR also promised that they would support and expand the Star Editor in the future and later told everyone that they abandoned the ideas and that if anyone liked to do map making, just use 3rd party tools.

I remembered reading a post by D2 fans that said that D2R would outsell D3 when D2R was announced. So I wouldn’t surprised if the company really believed that too.

I mean, the very same company also believed that WCR was in a good state to be released at that time despite the WCR developers saying it wasn’t ready. They even lied about remaking the campaign, and sadly I got fooled by them and bought WCR and only saw a few campaign maps were remade but most of them are just the same old WC3 Campaign mode with better graphic and resolution.
