Season 6 false promises and lied to us again (What a shocker)

“The idea behind Diablo II: Resurrected was, that we have planned updates/new things for every new season”, well that aged liked milk hasn’t it?

You know what’s funny? They said they will update EVERY SEASON and add new content to it like the terrorzones & charms, nothing happened yet (probably won’t be happening in the near or any future). Greendude (Path of Diablo) and SenpaiSomething (Project D2) would make the game phenomenal, hell I bet they’d somehow even make D4 playable and those 2 do it for the love of the game. Meanwhile you have 10/20 times more people working on both games and they can’t get any (PROMISED) updates done, D4 same stuff and they don’t even play their game.

Dear Microsoft please find and hire competent people and fire everyone working on current blizzard games, thanks.

Edit: Except the ART & DESIGN Team, since those guys are the only ones actually delivering.

“LIVE SERVICE GAME” BTW

Doubt they ever promised that. They think that Soon™ thing is hilarious despite not knowing it clearly represents their failures as developers.

Regardless based off the past, it would clearly be better if they just stuck to resets until there is a competent team in place. Which might not happen now, but who knows.

Well they said it would be a “LIVE SERVICE GAME”, which means it continuously should see upgrades and not “Ok we added some terror zone that changes every hour and some charms to make hell (the only somewhat challenging content coming fresh to it, besides ubers) even easier and now we throw it away and let it rot in the corner without any updates coming and focus on D4, a game we had a DECADE time for development and still managed to fock it up”.

They never promised regular updates. They actually said that updates will slow down, which they obviously have.

Lets be realistic here, if they DID update the game until the end of eternity, at what point would D2:R stop being a remaster of the original, and become an entirely different game? Are eternal changes the sole form of an “entertainment value” for you? At what point does the game become “good enough” to not need further updates? There is no definitive answer from the community, as everyone has a different opinion.

Keep in mind, the original game went 11 years without a single gameplay update before the release of D2:R… 11 years!!! And still counting for the OG anyway.

Besides, it’s kind of hard to make updates for a game without a developer.

So, enjoy your nothingburger.

At least they are resetting the ladder.

We are a small minority. It makes no business sense for them to do anything beyond bare minimum. Sucks but that is the reality. I don’t see this as being lied to, they brought some new content most of which got bashed anyways and who is to say they won’t continue in the years ahead. D3 has gotten some pretty significant updates or at least seasons the last few years if that gives you any hope so let’s see what happens after d4/immortal die down a bit.

It doesnt need to be bussines. Modyfing or adding some stuff to D2R is super easy. One guy can do it on free time. This is more about them just dont care. Someone worked on last event tho and it didnt generate any money to them so i had hopes we will get something new for season. Well unless that person was kicked from blizz in last lay offs.

I would work for them even for free lol to give people in D2 something…

Software development world does not have free time… I know a few folks that write software, they are by far the most overworked people I know, far worse than the doctors I know. I’m sure everyone at blizz would much prefer to work on a new game than d2r… at this point, Sekscalibure will probably be on his 28472nd ban before new updates occur.

A plan or idea is not a promise. There was no promise

You are right if they released an update every season - game would be entirely different in 10 years.
But it does not change the fact that game still need important changes.
Balance melee characters - their weapons’ damage and chance to hit.
Solving a problem with teleport(50% ladder starters being sorcs).
Loot filter
More stash tabs or currency tab

Ww just got thee most gamebreaking runeword mosaic and they decided to leave it like this. It is not ok.

Yes, the game needs important changes… However more importantly, it needs competent devs that are both capable of making intelligent changes, and also care enough to do so.

The problem with the “big bucks Kotick era” is that they were always doing everything they could to sniff out a buck. If it aint yielding bucks, the work doesn’t get done, even if the work is needed.

But someone had time to work on christmass event tho. So they can give us something with honestly minimum effort. Also you dont need to be software developer to make some changes to D2R. At this poinr game is quite easy to modify.

You probably saw some suggestions and changes i presented on this forum. I have zero experience in software development. And yet i can make those changes myself. You dont need much for many changes or some new content.

Just few fixes would literary take minutes of time only.

Yea but did you see those bonuses on Xmas eveent?
: 'xD
Most lazy content in vidwo game history. Probably done by some fresh junior developer

It was still much better than last event previous year. Bonuses were interesting, some people were just crying that some had negative effects too.

February 22 is a 5-month Ladder!

Let me make this clear. This is not a post complaining that there were no changes.
I am fine with no changes this or the previous ladder.
The problem that I have is with the duration of the ladder.

They promised ladders to last 4 months. And 2 times in a row the ladder will last 5 months.

If they added some changes (anything), then I would be fine with the 5 month wait.
Buy since nothing new was added, then they had no reason or no excuse, not to reset it at 4 months.
If they didn’t plan to add anything new, how difficult would be to just reset the ladder at the beginning of this month?

Personally and I imagine others, make their schedules based on the promised duration of the ladders.
I adjust my playstyle and how many characters I would make, with the assumption that the ladder will last 4 months.
I am not going to start an new character at 3 months and 3 weeks. But now it is going to last 5 months.
I would have started another character instead of waiting.

Can they at least announce how long the future ladders will actually last.
Because like I said, If they plan no changes, nothing is stopping them from just resetting at the agreed time.

This comes as a stunner lol

singleplayer mode and modding is the true “its a live game, a live service” D2

If they just add stackable runes and gems they can leave the game as it is for the next 20 years. xD

At this point give Greendude (Path of Diablo) and SenpaiSomething (Project D2) green light, that they can mod this game, since you abandoned the “LIVE SERVICE” after putting in the TZ’s and Charms and let those 2 hobby devs for the love of the game make better things 20+ times more of your “devs” can’t get done, thanks.

It’s obvious that constant change is the only aspect that you crave in the games you play. You think eternal free changes should come to a game that you pay once for… News flash, they don’t. So please, do yourself a favor and move along towards monthly subscription based games that bring you the constant changes you crave.

I would actually be ok with no update if only they removed mosaic runeword.
