For those who don't understand what is going on with PvP

If you are interested to understand it a bit, here my old article on the Anti-stun mechanic :

Its a bit outdated (i did it in the first days of PTR) but pretty much on point.
Most of the things described in the article are currently happening on live server :

-Assa lost her identity
-Defensive play harder to counter as offensive play are less rewarded (to be fair, it also allow some aggressive play that werent possible before)
-Sorc becoming borderline OP. Some stompers (smite paladin), becoming really weak
-Team play in tvt being halved, and meta going toward bowa teams (but to be fair, amazon buffs are also related to that)
-FHR becoming a mess and sometime behaving as an handicap instead of helping the player

As a final precision, this change was labelled by blizzard as a pvp change and doesnt impact pvm in any way

I don’t mean to be rude or anything just stating facts as they are: I don’t think people don’t understand, people just don’t care. PvP always were not so relevant and always were a broken unbalanced mess.

Now if they can meet you guys’ demands without having any effects whatsoever on PvM, then sure, all the best. But if PvM is even slightly influenced then nah.

i added a little edit at the very end to adress that. Its a pvp only change with no impact whatsoever on pvm. That wont matter for you and others pvmers

You have to gather pvp players from various places and present together reasonable pvp patch with balance changes and solutions. If you dont do that, nothing will change. Blizzard will listen only to reason and unified opinion on the matter. I doubt devs will listen to individuals crying over forum who want glitches and bugs back. Not saying its you. But there was plenty of them. Current situation might not be good, but pre 2.4 was not good either, just like the state of pvp up to 1.13 where you had to use glitch to be even able to get out of stun, which is ridiculous.

Thanks, interesting article.

Indeed, Fast Hit Recovery is very concerning in PvP with this patch.

Just some background, the reason I have no sympathy, is because when 2.4 released the patch notes were unclear about single player getting the new runewords immediately and I went off about that not being fair and what not.

Got a ton of backlash from folks that only play on-line and Ladder too. So a change, I was asking for drew ire from folks it didn’t effect.

Turns out my rage was premature and single player did have the runewords but it’s still unclear if that’s intended or not.

So it appears, it’s perfectly cool for people to poopoo complaints about 2.4 that have nothing to do with modes they play or have no detrimental effect on those same modes.

In other words, you’re getting the same reaction from the boards that I got.

And the arguments that “it doesn’t effect you, so why do you care” just don’t work, like at all.

Just sayin’.

Exactly! The FHR change brings more harm than good, despite being initially planned to address perma-stun.

2.3, while not perfect, was far better than 2.4.

We did some suggestion already about how to fix it. But i agree about needing a more cohesive action for it

I honestly feel that best would be to make special separated patch on pvp realm with removed stuff like slow, limited absorbs, no monsters, not losing gold when you die, or items… Special skill balance so it dont mess with pvm…

oh we would love that for sure. A good part of the pvp community used to play on private servor on lod at some point.

If blizzard could give us that we would be incredibly happy lol

I know, i was doing modified patch for one of them

Not everyone with whom you were scuffling in that thread played a different mode.
I pointed out that I play single-player offline pretty much exclusively.
(I do have a level 6 online character, which exists merely for logging-in to satisfy the 30-day re-authentication malarky.)

At this point its clear that D2R was a plain cashgrab.
Butchering TCP/IP, Skins, doing censoring and butchering core mechanics of the game, without even thinking because Blizzard has no clue of this 20 year old game.

I’ll accept that, Grizz. But still, the point is, it’s funny to see folks all “Why are you here?” “This has no effect on you” and many of the same arguments I used coming from other people about something to do with 2.4 and being mad about folks arguing with them like their opinions are the ones that should matter and no one else should have any in put.

I mean, now they’ve set up a new thread where apparently they’ve agreed to ignore any post that doesn’t support them. I mean, like I said earlier. 3 or 4 topics on this weren’t enough, now they’ve decided to shrink their echo chamber where their voices are the only ones that matter.

Must be nice to live in a bubble. lol

Hm that name i think i remember it but its honestly so long time ago i forgot so much from that time. Worst is that i dont remember mamy good people i used to play with because its 15+ years ago and i used to play with a lot of different people on multiple private realms.

Good old times.

Just so people knows.

The immunity window is 10 frames long for most skills (start after every hit recovery anime)
Its however only 5 frames long for FoH. Its possible there is some others exception.

If you are playing barb / assa / paladin, dont go 86 fhr against a 125 fcr paladin, he will stun you every foh instead of every two foh
