This is the 2nd time I’ve had an account be permanently closed due to being spam reported for “abusive chat” by bots and/or scammers… I called out a scammer trying to have people pay real money for boosts through SM in sod and he reported me with 6 of his alts and his main account and I got whispered every time I was reported. I made a ticket and this morning my account was permanently closed. This mass reporting ban this is absurd… I play the game once a week for my weekly sod raid for 1-2 hours then I log off.
I need some guidance on where to go or what to do to get this appealed because it’s out of hand now… my account of nearly 20 years gone just like that…
This was for chat - and had nothing to do with mass reporting.
This was a ban because of the number of infractions of a similar nature on the license.
There are only 4 reports here - all with profanity and inappropriate chat.
6/5, 6/6, 6/29 and 6/30, so no - it’s not from a ‘mass’ report.
All we can say is put in appeal thickets. The forums have no bearing on the outcome of appeal thickets.
To touch on some things, for the sake of clearing things;
Please don’t try to do a mob mentality in chat - if you think someone is breaking the rules, it’d be best to report them and try not to be the rogue hero. We, as players, don’t know what was said more then what is hinted at, but isn’t best to go after others.
And you don’t know who reported you, everyone can say anything. No one but Blizzard can see who reported who. You won’t even know if you was reported unless GMs took action against the account.
I wasn’t even playing the game on 6/5-6/6 and when I was playing yesterday I was doing SM farms with friends and incursions to level. I have proof to show I was spam reported 6 times because a bot whispered me every time I was reported.
Blizzard has login records.
If you claim you didn’t play the game then you’re still responsible for any actions that occured on the account during whomever was on it and should secure your account better next time if no compromise is found.
The other actions after those would’ve still resulted in an account action for yourself anyway.
That wouldn’t make any difference for any actions you may have done.
Also I wasn’t even playing the game today… so how can I be toxic in chat if I’m not playing the game…
Blizzard does not accept any proof from anyone. They go by their logs only.
No one else was on my account don’t try to use that excuse
I think you really overestimate folks. Just because someone whispers you that they’ve reported you does not mean they have. Orlyia can see it quite clearly. Most folks who bother others by announcing they’re reporting them - they do it to needle a player and rarely do follow through with it.
Being rude to another player trying to help you out is only going to get your post(s) removed and possibly your thread locked. We don’t know who has access to your computer or if it’s just you. It’s just ticking off the usual suspects. Not trying to shift blame.
Just to inform you: Blizzard can see EVERYTHING done on the account. From how often you did /dance on top of a mail box for how many hours a day, who you’ve talked to, when you log-in/out, how often, etc.
You received an answer directly from a blue in the first reply. Pushing it on the forums won’t result in a different outcome. If you’ve entered an appeal you’ll just need to wait on a response. Good luck.
Just to elaborate here:
Appeals are just a way to get a new set of eyes looking at the data in the logs. You don’t get to provide evidence or defense, because they only use the system logs. And you can keep appealing until they tell you no more appeals will be considered.
Good luck!
You have nothing that Blizzard would accept. They don’t accept “proof” from anyone else because sadly those things can be faked. Not sure if someone was trolling you by pretending to report, or not. Blizzard has all the actual logs - the reports and the chat logs showing what you said. There were 4 reports. Just 4. Not a mass of reports. Each report was found to be valid.
They can review those - and that is the ONLY thing that matters. The logs showing what you said.
Blizzard knows when you log in, what IP, what computer, what you did, what you said, what software is running in the memory of that computer, what your normal login and play patterns are, etc.
There IS one situation where the chat logs can be misread - that is when someone is using the RP addon and reporting through that. It can be hard to tell who said what and sometimes the GMs get the penalty backwards.
I don’t think that applies here though.
If you think that’s being rude… yikes…
Well, someone was certainly playing on your account.
Also, dates don’t always line up exactly because we use universal time - but yes, 4 separate distinct reports.
No one was on my account today, or the 5th but me for 10 minutes to get buffs for a raid then logged off. I play on Thursdays for raids and then yesterday to level for p4 that’s it. I am the ONLY person to access this account in the almost 20 years it’s been around.
You are responsible for all activity on your account. If someone else was able to play, and it doesn’t seem to have raised any compromise suspicions, secure your computer.
And as for UTC time, it is currently 11:57PM UTC, so if you were playing in the evening of 6/29, it’s possible it showed up in their system as 6/30 because time zones.
I’m gonna say this again. No one can access my account but me.
Then you said whatever they have logs of you saying, at the time it was logged.
I don’t think anybody is saying it was anyone other than you.
