Wow is too casual friendly(warning unpopular opinion)

I’ve used it at least like 15 times now :stuck_out_tongue:

I really should save it.

People like what they like and retail WoW is a very different game than Classic WoW. And no I am not an elitist hoping the bads cant progress.

Next week EQ is going to launch 2 more versions of its Classic server for their 20th anniversary (they have had several classic servers so far) and right now the forum is hopping with people who want to come back. There are quite a few guilds accepting applications to play in their guild on a server that will not launch till next Saturday. I myself have already joined a guild and we are already getting groups together so we can all level @ launch. On 20 year old content.

If the content is good, it doesnt get outdated and is replayable. If the content sucks, people will not play it even if it is new.

I thought the people selling the runs could carry people through, that’s the appeal for the people buying the runs isn’t it? Paying for convenience and ease?

If players get the same gear from other sources, like warfronts then people will tend to buy less runs, which hurts run sellers in the pocket literally.

Run sellers dont like:
A) LFR or any other other casual content that gives you high level gear.
B) Titanforging, because then, LFR pieces can forge to something comparable to mythic raiding.
C) The loss of master loot, which helps them trade and funnel the gear to people that have paid for the runs.

There is a post called “LFR is bad for the game” where the op goes through these things that “hurt the game” and i called him out after seeing he sells runs. He goes onto state which IL should drop with each type of dungeon and raid… making mythic raiding gear the best so it will facilitate more people paying for runs (or gear)

Just read down a few posts and will see how he got owned.

They want to make gold (or money) and anything that interferes with that is bad.

IMO selling runs to others goes against the spirit of the game as we are already paying for it.

People should be helping each other gear up on the same faction to overtake the other faction, but… they decided that making money from lazy players is the best way to go and concentrate on.

When classic comes out, watch how many people will be trying to take advantage of others and treat them like just a paycheck.

These posts are nothing more than complaining that they are losing work. I say… go get a job.

It is getting pretty bad as i see even MVPs (some with a history of selling runs) rant and rave about these things that supposeably hurt the game.

I sincerely hope that once Classic is released you go there and never come back to retail. Wow is at a pretty fair balance between casual and hardcore content. Sure I wouldn’t mind if LFR was a little more challenging, but I also think Mythic 0 dungeons should be queueable. Blizzard is bringing Classic back for you so be happy with that and let retail be.

Ah, I see, I didn’t think of that angle :stuck_out_tongue:

I think you are confusing casual friendly with a broken gearing system.

Horde at 79.

Alliance at 12

The whole problem with classic server is when people get bored with classic, then they will say…we want Burning Crusade server…then we want a WOLK server…and then on and on…when dose it stop…how many different servers will come down to…and when will start to hurt the real game cause all the time they have to put in put out these old has been servers and trying to maintain them…

If you can’t outgear someone who only does world content then your doing it wrong imho.includeing warfronts ext.

And i bet you won’t be able to carry over your classic char at all to those servers.

OP is speaking from experience.

You mean being a friend of the RL or sleeping with an officer? My experience with Vanilla is that half of the 40 man raid carried the other half and it worked fine until Naxx.

i can just picture people complaining about old school Nax being too easy on the Classic servers: with very little thought that they ran it when it was brand spanking new content so of course it was going to be difficult.

After reading through all the posts here I’m going to play both retail and classic so I can have twice the amount of fun! I’m hoping to enjoy both for completely different reasons.

Wasn’t WoW created by a bunch of Everquest players that wanted a more casual mmo.

Lets be honest. These types of games are time-gated. Meaning no-lifers will benefit the most. Thats the truth. The balance is truly only in PVP to a degree. In classic gear actually mattered and that was amazing. A person who put more time into the game could steamroll you easily.

What measurement should be the reason for dominance? Skill or time? I think a combination. That is how it was in Classic. Someone of equal gear as you can easily outmatch you with skill but that same person who lost can easily beat casuals just because of the time they put in to obtain better gear. So it all works out.

Some players could even beat you regardless of gear due to skill. I think a combination of both skill and time put into the game matter to what an MMO even is in the first place. A grind and reward system.

Wpvp is the only thing fun for me these days because you don’t get that feeling in bgs or arenas anymore. Only if you que dodge and such but thats lame.

Classic pvp will be better than retail.
