For it as an option. Not forced though. I still like doing LFR with a couple friends.
And it’s completely stupid.
Runescape has a completely different structure. Group content is sprinkled throughout its progression. Even the end game has single-player elements. When you log on to the game, whether you have friends or not, there’s always something to do.
And single-player activities aren’t compulsory if you only want to do group activities.
That’s what WoW should be about.
MMORPGs are played for a variety of reasons. I agree that WoW drew inspiration from EQ by tailoring the game towards raiding and later M+, but the bulk of MMORPGs aren’t that way.
Those are the points, I think, people are making. That the genre has a lot more to offer than just raiding an organized group play and people would like Blizzard to drive WoW more in that direction.
It’s a wish that I understand and since I’ve played practically every MMORPG released since 2001, I’ve seen how well received other features are and I believe they’d work on WoW.
Maybe less kicks because people who want to go slow won’t be in the real groups, but id be surprised if it actually impacts queue times significantly since most of the people who seem interested say they’re not running dungeons at all now anyway.
Plus, losing the end of dungeon bonus exp/gold/runes may be too big of a trade-off for a good number of people.
Thus is the only remaining concern I have, so much so that I started a new thread about it!
I can tolerate a pretty big hit to efficiency to use follower dungeons to level alts, I just want to know how big a hit it’ll be!
Man where are people finding these groups? The last few raids have been so easy on LFR I haven’t seen more than 4 stacks that I can remember all expansion.
Remember you can skip the line by firing up that tank/heal spec! Nobody knows if you’re doing good or bad anyway.
So people saying it’s not a solo game is why it needs to be a solo friendly game…
I mean they are making dungeons have ai next expansion so just gotta wait for it.
Personally, I don’t hate this. However, solo shuffle killed the rated arena brackets. Everyone expects solo rbgs to do the same thing to regular rbgs as well. While pve has a lot more players, solo dungeons could very well kill mythic+. Be careful what you wish for.
Um… my personal opinion about M+ is it was clearly intended for organized groups of friends. If delves “poach” all or even some of the people that would have otherwise contributed to the notoriously toxic M+ PUG scene, or gives decent folk a way out of it… I’d call that cleverly working as intended.
The bulk of mmorpgs aren’t relevant. What’s relevant is how WoW is designed
Blizzard has never designed the game that way.
They can ask but the better option may need to be to play games tailored to that mode.
Which features exactly? Because the solo playerbase has proven multiple times they don’t want hard solo content.
AI dungeons will probably never be higher than heroic level dungeons and will never be part of mplus.
They already stated the intended rewards will cap out at Heroic Raid ilvls for completing the Delve on the hardest difficulty level.
I’ve played since 2008. Why did I quit doing LFR? Because of the multiple players who were in there rushing, rushing, rushing, kicking people who weren’t interested in trying to keep up and not caring that there were people who wanted to actually DO the mechanics as designed. I quit because the toxic atmosphere in so many areas, from the open area swooping in to get something I was working toward getting to the actually either cussing me out for not moving fast enough, to hitting on me because my BELF is gorgeous and therefore the person playing her should be too.
I was in a guild (it’s still listed on my profile, I’m not /gquit yet). They all got bored during Shadowlands and wandered off. I think I’m the only one online most of the time now, sadly. I’ll drop it when I find another one. I’ve got one request to join a guild out right now, has been out for 3 weeks. I’m dropping it tonight. This is the fifth one I’ve done. It’s hard to find a group to play with and I’m just not interested in joining the first group that invites me out of the blue without my ability to check it out.
But mainly, I just get tired of all the toxic guano involved in the MMO side of it. I play and I don’t bother you. Nothing I do bothers you. If they want to offer things like delves and follower dungeons, you don’t play them so why are you so worried about it?
Your post is EXACTLY why there are so many people who do solo, we’re tired of dealing with people who think we need to conform to the way THEY play and what we want out of the game doesn’t matter.
Sorry, Blizz thinks having both MMO and solo content is a good thing. And if it bothers you that much, just like you said, there are other games you could go play.
I’m excited to see how the new systems work.
Sorry I mixed up things. The ai dungeons is what I meant.
Because you’re using the ingame tools. Your best bet is to use the recruitment discord.
My friend and i recently resubbed because of the delves hype from blizzcon and the talk about “respecting the player’s time.”
We both have been playing on/off since classic but now have families that take priority to wow.
I hope some delves have a difficulty similar to early legion mage tower. That was the funnest solo content wow has had, imo.
I mean most people have families.
Most solo players are going to fail and complain till
It’s nerfed into the ground.
I don’t have the data Blizzard has, so I leave that to their analyst and development teams. I do like where TWW is going and that’s why I’m back. To catch up on the games story before.the.expansion comes out.
exactly. way back when, wandering around solo and you got that orange or red quest. you had to think about attacking and learned very quick why u needed a friend or three. not anymore. the game has been dumbed down.
scaling was a huge mistake.
Well said.
