That would have been excellent. I still hope we see the Silver Covenant join Alleria’s brethren. If not the group officially, at least have many of those SC elves individually turn into Void Elves.
Yeah, except for the fact that Void Elves and High Elves are the same race. So how can one of the same race have 2 different races?
He did.
Not a fan of him either, specially after he sent us to kill an innocent Argus animal because it stole his cake, but he was at least established.
I would’ve preferred it being the helves too. It was the most obvious choice TBH but Blizz was dumb.
That being said, to be fair they didn’t just master the void in a weekend, they had already been studying and using the void prior to the accident. The voidification just enhanced their abilities.
Blood Elves are High Elves.
If you really believed what you were saying you wouldn’t have made this thread a few weeks back, so how are Void Elves High Elves again because you clearly don’t believe that?
There you have it, guys.
I really do not condone this behavior. However, I truly question if he has learned anything from it. Is it really worth antagonizing people again just because of a stupid game? No. Then why are he is doing it? I have been busy the past few days helping my family due an aggressive flu circulating here but I do read the posts. This whole antagonizing RP-ankle only shows me that even after the dust has settled people still try to bash their heads.
I’m nobodies friend here. I do not care for both sides but he really should have learned something from the first time. If my name got leaked because I wrote something awful or behaved badly towards others, then I would perhaps reevaluated where I stand. As far as I can tell this isn’t the case here. The crusade simply continues until another drama happens and both fronts are hardened again. For a while it seemed you guys really finally got somehow along (except for the regular bad eggs) but no, even after the whole elf war ended there is no end in sight.
When will this stop?
If I may bring up an argument you’d made earlier against San’layn? You brought up how San’layn wouldn’t have access to every class Blood Elves do.
Well, High Elf Death Knights all went back to Quel’Thalas, and High Elves objected to Fel, so we wouldn’t see any High Elf Warlocks. Yes, there was a trainer who was a High Elf back in Wrath, but he was specifically a Summoner, and it was never made clear if they used Fel, or just Shadow Magic. Either way, here we are.
The same race may have different cultures within it with different practices. The Void Elves are an example of including two different cultures despite different practices. The same holds true for many other races that can be made into subraces, not the least of which is Dark Rangers/San’layn and Blood Elves. They too are the same race.
Are you referring to this non-answer?
“They start out as a small group,” Danuser continues. “But it’s natural as other elves have found out about them — elves who are interested in new sources of magic, power, or opportunities — would see if they could undergo a similar process. They’re not … recruiting , necessarily, but they’re open to those who show a similar interest.”
Is not a non-answer, it’s pretty definitive.
Cues me with the celtic irl warpaint designs.
Also, the less we try to “make sense” on WoW´s lore, the better. Cause she was loling around in the nether for 1k years and was STILL linked to the Sunwell, so…
It´s a tomato / tomâto issue we´re having in here. The name the “cute” blue line gets is irrelevant, what´s relevant is to make those lines aesthetically different in design to the stuff used by Rommath, for example.
Under this paradigm, Velves shoould had never ever gotten the High Elf customizations simply because the toons are NOT High Elves, they´re Void Elves, period.
Just like Darkspear Troll players can use Dark Troll aesthetics when we now as per canon lore there is only ONE Dark troll in existence, or they can use the Sunfury skintones while we know Sunfury trolls are pretty much enemies of the Darkspear and the Horde, etc.
The cute attempts you people seem to be building towards gatekeeping “Dark Ranger” aesthetics is noted. Useless after a bunch of aesthetical implementations done not only on the Velbes but on Darkspear Trolls too btw, but surely noted.
Btw, is Summermoon Horde or Alliance? Last time I saw they were in this weird limbo about following Calia that apparently is rolling Horde nowadays so…?
This is BS exploted by some posters in particular as an actual antagonistic gatekeeping “move”. I was unfortunate enough to read the posts before logging for my lunch our and frankly, the hypocrisy of the usual suspects knows no bounds (now that they got their “Helfer” flavor they care over “muh lore”? /rofl).
Last time I saw Velves didn´t get their Helfer stuff restricted to class combos cause “lore”… in the same way, to come here with the "but only let it work for class x, y and z cause I say so is nothing but their usual BS trolling, period. Simply put it, if a Troll player can pretend to be a Sunfury while using a Darkspear Troll, then a Belf player can pretend to be a Dark Ranger / San´layn while lorewise they aren´t a Belf proper, period.
Smple as that. Cheaper to implement too btw.
I disagree, considering they went for the low hanging fruit of copy/pasting “Helf” stuff on the Void Elves, it´s waaay easier for them as per irl computer programmation to make available an already exisiting eye and skin color into the Belf models than to go and configure a “Dark Ranger” on the Forsaken model and do so restricted to hunters only.
Believe me, if going for low hanging fruit is “the way to go” for Blizz, they´ll simply make the eye color and skin color available for the Belf toons and leave the issue as solved, period.
Void Elves lorewise speaking are blueberries and no Wayfarer can be considered a Velf proper but a fanboy of the Velves (they may stay in Telogrus as much as they may take notes and GTFO of there, simple as that); ergo those customizations did NOT made sense.
Blizzard being Blizzard.
Second iteration if we are strict with the language he used, but we both know the usual suspects aren´t interested in the actual meaning of the words but in how they can twist it to favor their agenda.
They didn’t, though. They objected to mana tapping. They were perfectly fine with Fel crystals.
This is all very suspect language once again coming from you.
Seems like people think blaming victims is cool.
Which is beyond sad.
I like anyone else get along with some people better than others but I don’t and I won’t ever feel like actually harassing someone for a difference in opinion is okay because it’s not, you can disagree and you can argue but actual harassment is way too far and taking it to real life makes it even worse because this is just a game and we are all pixels.
As for your question of when will it stop, more than likely never, people are always going to disagree with one another, want different things, have differences in opinions, etc. it’s something that people either need to be able to accept especially in a very public place such as the WoW public forums or step away.
Also the implication that the people who have acted in the behavior of actual harassment are the ones whose feelings need to be coddled because they can’t process a difference of opinions, and the rest of us are the ones that need to bow out is ridiculous.
Going to want a source for that.
I’m well aware that the straw that broken the camel’s back was the morality of draining living things for mana to survive. That doesn’t mean High Elves didn’t object to fel though. Considering a lot live in Dalaran where that practice is taboo among the Kirin Tor (unless I’ve missed something in which case, please give me a link, I’d love to learn that the Kirin Tor has been loosening it’s restrictions on taboo practices in their ranks/lands), it stands to reason its not a class High Elves would’ve been drawn to.
Nothing there says that any of that is happening, they say that it wouldn’t be odd if elves were interested in trying, and that the void elves wouldn’t be opposed to newcomers even though they aren’t recruiting. It reads much more as either “We know what’s going on but don’t want to explain it yet” or “We have no idea what we’re going to do with this, and here’s a vague answer to wave it away for now”
Well, do you have a link that shows exiled High Elves were not okay with Fel (crystals)?
There’s nothing about it afaik. And if there’s nothing stating it, then it stands to reason that they were okay with it. They didn’t like mana tapping, and thus were exiled.
I’m talking about the exiled High Elves, not about High Elves residing in Dalaran or other places.
EDIT:
Here’s my link, though:
Fel magic played no apparent role in the elves’ splintering; in fact, its use was hidden from most of the blood elves.

Yes, and Void Elves are also High Elves.
Oh that is really rich behaviour, misinterpreting a thread into me thinking Void Elves are not? Let me explain something, in regards to my thread. The Alliance should’ve just gotten High Elves in the first place. We see them interacting and working with the Alliance in every expansion except for WoD. Instead, Blizzard is compromising into giving us Void Elves with had no lore prior to there introduction, and have no lore relevant to the story on Argus. No where in that thread have I mentioned Void Elves are not High Elves, because making a statement like that is entirely false.
And I never said they are different races.
The Undead (playable) and Humans are the same race, just Undead is a condition.
The Worgen and Humans are the same race, just Worgen is a condition.
Let’s all get along let’s all get along let’s all get along and support troll beards forever
