Why the lack of Customization?

I have a behind tattoo and let me tell you, not a real bet :joy: gotta put it on your forehead for Blizz to give void elves green eyes.

If the blues are indeed looking at this for some suggestions I’d like to ask to have somebody look at the night elf female hairstyle you introduced in shadowlands, the long wavy one that is partially tied up.

That is a beautiful hair style and my new favorite for the race but when they cast with that hairstyle equipped, the back of the models head clips through it and appears bald. So if I’m using a light skin color with dark hair, it is incredibly noticeable from the players perspective. It bothers me so much that we have this nice new style and it looks so bad because of clipping issues.

Hoping to see that fixed one day!

Also Worgen would look super neat with tails and we need more hairstyle options? The Worgen got an update that was long long overdue but you didn’t give anymore hairstyles? Why not? It feels like Worgen have been behind in customization for so long. Another idea would be to let the human jewelry option carry over to the Worgen form if we have it equipped. Or even give us the option to choose our nail color options like how Tauren can choose their horn color.

Some more things maybe to look at are the female gnome faces. They have a weird dark circle effect around their eyes and it makes them appear older. Perhaps they could be given more options for faces.

The goblin males looked really cute with a rough stubble beard their old models seem to have. Maybe it was just my computer but I’m pretty sure it was there. I think it would be a nice option to have back. Also they could use more fuller looking hairstyles.

Blood elves look nice but they didn’t get anything that really makes them stand out much. It could nice to see some farstrider tattoo options and maybe let the hair jewelry be optional as it is for other new hairstyles for other races.

That’s just a few ideas. More things that are good to think about is the death Knight options. There are a lot of new eye color options for characters but the death Knight class limits us. If they had their own options to choose from that could be a nice touch.

Thanks for reading.

Pretty much all of this here.

At this point the best Wildhammer fans can hope for is racials toggle to make us proper Wildhammer.

I’d like a full AR but blizzard did us dirty and now that’s about the best I could expect.

So much disrespect to their lore and culture just by tossing them in as nothing more than tattoos.

This can also be said for Trolls and other multi-clan/groups races as well, though I doubt there’s as many sand fury or jungle trolls fans as there are Wildhammer.

It does however seem redundant to add another dwarf/troll/elf AR, so do you see a good fix to be racial skins/customization that is purely aesthetic to be a fix?

For example, we condense all Dwarf tribes into just dwarf with a drop down list of Wildhammer/Dark Iron/Bronzebeard with varying racials? Or perhaps remove racials all together to simplify the process?

I disagree.

Too much is lost through mere customization.

This is fine if done correctly. Races still need their lore to introduce them and they still need heritage and separate racials, voice lines, tabard, and mount.

The issue with this one is that if you do this you need to do it for all races. Which can get murky in some cases.

This would ruin all races value. You need these flavor items for players to better understand and work with a race.

I know some don’t care but you shouldn’t punish others for that.

I personally can do either way, if races are done justice with enough work in that theoretical system, racials just seem like sprinkles at that point, I’m seeing it as methods to which require less effort on development and thus making it more of a reality, but I’m never against having my cake and eating it too.

Imagine if blizzard came out with Eredar that can’t be warlocks and, but can be paladins and have voice lines that show opposition to their own race. That would be the biggest slap in the face ever to people wanting playable eredar or manari.

That’s a whole other issue, they could just lock some classes behind some of the “drop down races”, or just open all classes to all races like a modern MMO.

I think that would very much depend.

For Wildhammer for instance there is a deep cultural reason for why they push away arcane and fel and shadow.

And they never really had paladins in the lore (to my knowledge).

Them having shaman and druid though would fit with where their story went.

Any chance for the regular Cloud Serpents to get tame-able variants someplace in the world?

Blue, red, green, and such could use some tame-able version that don’t have lightning or celestial affects?

Sooooo, is there any chance this lion color will get implemented? It’s been in the files since the end of Legion, but with only 4 HMT skin colors and the old hair color-bound druid form system, the 5th color was locked away. A bear color is also missing, but I don’t remember which one.

I think that’s especially amusing while your avatar looks exactly like mine, but with ear spines poking through the helmet. I chuckled :stuck_out_tongue:

This is the future of the character creator, yes. One main “form” and categorized by culture and then by playable classes.

Wait, that’s NOT an option? That’s what I’d expect Tauren/ Highmountain to look like in their cat form. Earthy coat looks so good.

Thank you Devs and CLs for keeping us in the loop of the recent changes. I do have a question though, are there any plans of fixing some of the hairstyles now that we can toggle the void tentacle? For example, the female VElf’s ponytail.

Thanks in advance!

I love what you guys added to HMT, all the changes so far has gotten me super stoked on the allied races! However, a lot of nightborne players would really like to see just a few more changes implemented before you decide to move on from them- a lot of these changes have been requested since their release up until now and I hope you can take them into consideration, it would truly mean a lot to all the NB fans.
I Just wanna link this again incase you happen to read this

https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/feedback-nightborne-customization/1083676

To summarize:

  • Younger looking faces for both men/women (remove scowl from most male faces especially)

  • Arcane accents on hands and hair

  • vibrant tattoos

  • Variants of blue, pink and purple options for skin tone, eye color, and hair

The first two are the most important/more frequently requested and the last two requests would really just tie everything together for the race. A lot of people just wanna have what the npc model has and I hope you’re able to consider our requests, I know every nightborne player out there would be extremely happy with these changes
Thank you!

For the sake of preserving lore then there would have to be a lot of discussion about which classes deserve to be “racial skin locked” and which don’t.

For a AAA company like blizzard you would expect this to be a plausibility, but I always air caution to asking for a lot.

We have been asking this for YEARS, and what they do? Give all the options highborne fans have been asking to nightborne… Night elves look so bad since wod, and they don’t even try to fix the model and the faces, they don’t give us any highborne customisations, they even gave horde night elves tattoos and better face markings… female night elves don’t have moon tats, they don’t have new face markings, not regal hairstyles, better faces? Not, give it to nightborne too. I’m tired.
