Private servers like Nostalarius and Lightbringer were very effective at perma-banning players/accounts on first offenses. My guild leader on Lightbringer got banned. If they can do it, so can Blizzard.
Yeah, banning the buyers is easy. But banning the buyers doesn’t solve the problem, that’s my point.
Banning the sellers is more effective, but alot harder to do.
It is, I know someone who got 6 months. Blizzard bans in waves. You’ll probably see ban drop tomorrow.
i just got banned for 2 weeks, expires in 2 days. i bought like 10k over 2 months just to level my proffs because i boosted a 70 and didnt have time. 2 week ban for that lol. but now i just trade wow tokens for classic gold which isnt tos
like you ? I bet you buy gold
lmao buying gold on a private server? what nerds
right next you’ll say they ban botts
This conspiracy theory intrigues me!
Did they get perma banned?
Don’t think I’m allowed to disclose details. Lol. I will say that other than being in guild together, I did not associate with those players.
player made problem. stop buying gold, bots will be gone but some jokes here rather pay $15 a mo and an additional sum for gold rather than playing the game. very odd especially in classic but ok.
Because Blizzard have no integrity.
A gold buyer still pays a sub, they don’t care.
The bots that farm gold still pay a sub, they don’t care.
I know tonnes of people who bought gold all throughout classic, and never got a ban.
The issue is that you can ban gold sellers all day long, but as long as theres demand, they will keep making accounts and farming gold.
If you want to kill the gold selling market, you kill the demand by making it very risky to buy gold. 14 day suspension is kekw, make it a 6 month suspension, and people will start thinking twice about buying gold.
They use separate accounts so a 6 month ban is lul worthy for then
It is a , you 100% can get banned for buying gold
I’m sorry but there is. Ban the bots, no more gold to buy.
And don’t tell me a company that has partnered with Google Deep Mind and IBM Watson AI projects can’t detect the DK named “Gzkbdke” or “Rekbcsla” with 4 other similarly named DKs in Blackrock Spire every day 24/7 is actually a bot.
Blizzard looks the other way on bots because they are a steady and reliable income source of their own. But they also generate a high Return On Investment (ROI), since the bots also keep the humans paying their subs too, so they can buy with lots of gold to spend in lots of GDKP pay-to-win runs.
If you’d actually read what I said, I literally said going after the source is a better solution to the issue. You just said the same thing that I did.
Our main tank in Classic got a ban for buying gold, bought an account from someone else, bought gold, bought Tiger in a gdkp, then got banned for fish botting. This was all within about a fortnight.
Some people are just really, really stupid. Also proof of at least 1 person getting banned for buying gold/rmt.
Gdkp would be a good alternative for players who have not been able to get gear traditionally and may have some gold their willing spend. Unfortunately it leads to pay 2 win with 3rd parties interfering with legitimate gameplay and gold acquirement
How does it affect those “boomers” not negatively when the economy of the whole game tanks because botting is rampant and unmonitored and gold buyers do not get punished? Just because it fits your little raiding fantasy well that you just swipe the credit card and then go on AH and buy cheap consumables only so you can parse once a week does not mean it doesn’t affect people.
If you want to play the game legitimately good luck making money. You can’t compete with the bots that run 24/7, everything you do farm is worth a fraction of the price that it should be worth. You better enjoy playing the AH for hours on end cause you will not get rich farming nodes in the world.
Aside from the awful feeling one has when running into a bot, which is constantly happening. The game starts to not feel like a MMO but rather you with a bunch of bots and the occasional other player here or there. Atleast out in the world. Nowadays you can not even tell wether the guy you just buffed and who buffed you back was a real player or not unless you start watching him for a bit.
Battlegrounds, atleast in vanilla classic, were complete trash to play because everyone there had infinite resources. Sure… pop 25-30 faps for some random WSG, why would you care, you just gonna swipe the credit card and buy another 3k gold afterwards anyway. Try maintaining this lifestyle if you actually had to farm money ingame or actually have to farm each fap. It creates a completely unfair competition where everyone who tries to play the game as it was supposed to be played is at a significant disadvantage.
