It’s the value of what you receive, not the cost of labor for doing it
I think most people agree $35 is insane, but there does need to be some kind of fee 10bucks or something, so not every single person clones every single character.
Blizzard has to pay to support those ghost town servers for eternity lol
No.
No they aren’t.
Read all the blizz fanboys in the comments. They sure are. Theres tons of these threads and people are all commenting its alot of work to clone and nothings free… cmon…
That’s what our subs do. Can’t play on more than one server at a time.
I’ve not see one person say “thank you blizz for the 35 fee” or any such thing. I’ve only see “that’s steep, we get a fee, but that’s steep”.
First sign of a lost argument.
The value I receive… They should want players to keep their vanilla and TBC chars for free. WE all paid 15 a month to play and raid and have the experience. We should just continue to pay that for a service they are already doing for everyone but making you pay to access.
We all came back to a game from 2004 and still payed to play and now pay more to keep your character when TBC release was a laughable joke on the classic forums since classic came out? Again… Cmon…
Eh personally I think it’s a fair price, but I understand I’m in the minority. I respect everyone’s right to their own opinion on the price tag, I just don’t understand the reasoning for it most of the time
Ok
The price of cloning is now free, but as a result the sub fee for all players is bumped to $20 a month. Sound better?
Its not though… OP stated how many posts there are on this. Go read them. and read the comments. I have been bored at work and have been reading them and people are saying $35 is fine and to stop crying but no one mentions they are already doing the clone weather you ask for it or not.
The game. is. from. 2004 and now 2006… I don’t understand what you are getting at. Neither is acceptable for old content we are already paying for and a crap retail game.
Because a good number of us have been around since wow launch and have been shocked so many times that it is the first place our mind goes.
There are actually not many people saying this and it is mostly blizzard shill fake news to stir up non-issues.
No streamers are saying that it costs extra to play BC. They are irritated that the monetization that ruined retail for them is going to ruin classic versions.
Yes it is an opinion, but if you love monetization, go play retail and get off tbc forums, why do you get to ruin two games?
This is next level entitlement.
What percentage of the WoW player base posts on the forums (measured by account, not avatar)?
Until you know that number then the number of posts on the forum is meaningless.
Why do people keep trying to tie cost of production to personal value?
What something is worth to me is completely unrelated to the cost to produce.
On the bright side, there is next to no reason to clone a character, other than wanting to snapshot it for the sake of it being a museum relic.
The people that love WoW enough to want this feature, are surely 9/9 naxx, there is only so many times you can clear naxx, without a seasonal server restart or something
It’s really not though. Its a re-release not remaster of a 16 year old game with a few changes and an ingame shop to boost.
How is thinking a service is clearly robbing you entitlement. Go read data on subscriptions and yet how theyre profits are so high. In game shops not playerbase.
And yet you’re still willing to pay $15 a month for a game you admit to disliking in order to gain access to it, so I fail to see your point in bringing up its age
I love how people who are still just as subbed as I am call other people fanboys.
It’s like showing up to a concert and being pissed off the whole time, making sure to tell everyone who didn’t ask “yeah I like them but only their old stuff!”
