I’m super curious to know what you meant when you said this a while back on a forum I made.
It seems your opinion has changed then?

Haha this cracked me up
I’ve had a couple of weeks to digest the situation in more detail.
Also, with this weeks affix you need at minimum 2-3 dispels in the group. If the affix goes off you can heal a boss for 20% of their hp.
The good part of my soul wants the dungeons to be balanced more fairly so Priests don’t have a disproportionately more difficult time with dispels. (Or literally just give us another dispel type…)
But then, the bad side of my soul wants Shaman to be gutted just like our Mass Dispel was. And still is.
That’s the neat part, they won’t.
They also don’t, strictly, need to - though Priest still needs modernization. Ideally, at a bare minimum, in lieu of a full rework:
And, being utterly generous, Door of Shadows somewhere convenient in the class tree. I dunno. I’m taking my sweet time on Priest because I just haven’t had as much time to play as I’d like, and it definitely feels like the grand-pappy of healers.
Also Shadow just straight feels like trash outside of Voidform Windows, it’s not fun to play at all IMO.
Still priest lacks a lot of utility compared to other classes for M+.
The class is objectively outdated and needs some updates.
Rsham already had a lot of utility prior to TWW with decent healing, and still they got big rework and talent revamp on top of great hero talents. Maybe dungeon design wasn’t special for Rsham utility before, but now it does, and now they also have great hps.
I can’t see why Hpriest can’t have the same treatment.
Someone correct me it I’m wrong but as for what actually happened. I remember hearing about the dev or team responsible for Priest quitting during Dragon Flight development so it just got thrown together and ever since nothing has changed.
If you remember the first version of the tree that dev made, it’s probably good that they weren’t responsible for the final design.
Same song, different tune.
Ever since the dev in charge of the Legion redesign, we have been in a consistent loop of partial rework that ends up halfassed as the dev just ends up leaving for one reason or another.
Happened shortly after the Legion redesign, again in the development of Shadowland Priest changes, again in Dragonflight priest changes and I think sometime in BFA as well.
So at least 3 or 4 times this has happened each and every time during the development cycle.
Which makes sense since there are so many unfinished ideas and random directions that the class/specs are inadated with and also why when we as a community question things like why not bring back a Spectral Guise, it’s met with what seems to be just flat out anger, hatred and pure contemptment with reasonings that seems so confusing and not aligned with how other classes are held to that begs the question that whomever is in charge just has it out for priest or some kind of negative bias agenda.
Maybe we ought to be asking wtf is going on at Blizz that the Priest guy keeps leaving.
My root of the problem isn’t the fact that priests don’t have much utility etc, its the fact that other classes are full of it.
The lazy way of making SP for example more appealing is just buffing its DPS to make it top meters.
Least thats a tradeoff worth taking one for. Especially in raids - if it did insane amounts of damage then you’d want one in the group. Currently there is absolutely no reason to bring one. Chances are in the raid you’ll have a disc priest or holy priest for health buff.
SP shield and flash heals are just completely useless to - its not worth wasting a GCD on them. They do nothing for your health.
I think most of us are speaking from high level POV here, so most of the time your still going to bring the player and not the class but even with this in mind, is there actually any reason to bring a shadow priest to your group? I feel like they’d become more of a liability than help
You can give every Healer the basics without breaking their identity.
All Healer Specs:
Shamans will still have their Self-Rez, Blood Lust, Totems, ect
Priests still have their Stam Buff, PI, ect…
Pallies get Lay on Hands, Bubbles, ect…
ect…ect…
Giving everyone basics will be better for the game.
This kind of reminds me of “Role Actions” from FFXIV.
My take on what Hpriest could use for an update:
Ah yes, let’s leave behind Disc Priest. Why would they ever need a battle rez or an interrupt? LOL
My response to this from another thread regarding Interrupt:
Okay so this is super weird, but did you read my forum from 2 years ago or did you think of that name on your own?
I honestly couldn’t care less about being credited, literally I do not care. But like, what are the odds you picked that exact name?
Lol too funny. No I actually got my idea from one of my favorite MTG Cards called Stifle.
Its one of the few cards that can “Counterspell” an Ability instead of a Spell.
I give you credit for having great ideas, because I thought the same. Silence isn’t an interrupt, in its current state it prevents spell casting, it doesn’t actually require a spell to be casting.
I think that’s Blizzards dumb reason for leaving it at a 45-second CD. It’s also balanced around PvP, because there’s no reason for it to be 45secs otherwise.
I know nothing about Magic the Gathering hardly at all so that’s super cool (and strange?).
Maybe the Akashic Records/Collective Unconscious are real. Oooooh spooky.
Totally random: There was a study done with monkeys on an island that were completely isolated due to a body of water separating them. – Researchers provided Sweet Potatoes to some of the monkeys on the island, a small group of them began washing them off to get the sand/dirt off them. Once the majority of the monkeys on the island learned how to do this, monkeys that were isolated on the mainland began to all do the same thing at the same time despite never learning or observing the behavior. – Its called " Hundredth Monkey Effect" - There’s an article on Wikipedia. lol
