What is actually happening with priests

Exactly this. Thats why this whole “herp derp negativity is bad!” superiority complex is so ridiculous. Its not unreasonable to want basic parity in foundational design. Priests (and other classes/specs who are dealing with a similar issue in other aspects) arent asking for anything that will give them some huge advantage. They just want the simple building blocks that are needed to fit into what the game currently requires by design.

The last thing needed on these forums are more idiot back seat moderators trolling every grievance someone posts with another version of “skill issue/always complaining/just adapt” bullsh!t. Making the experience better and getting problems fixed requires pointing them out constantly until something gets done, and if things are still off, point out the next thing.

The fact that this process doesn’t happen properly for some is why for some stupid reason we have specs still stuck with no or worthless CC, 45 or 1 min CD interrupts, and the like. When they build the entire game around certain tools, then everyone needs those tools at the same or very close power level. Thats not “homogenization / unique and different / createing new design space” or some other pointless buzz word, its just common sense.

That some classes/specs have to put up with crap like this so often is frustrating enough. They certainly dont need ego jerking, toxic positivity idiots invading their discussion platform each time they bring up that the problem still exists.

I’m already rent free in one head, can I run the other as an air BnB? I’ll split the profits. It’s only fair.

Say next expansion, they take away all hero talents and passives. What state would shadow priest be in then?

Lols. The funny thing is that years ago before i knew better, i would have thought “theres no way Blizz would do something that crazy!”

These days, you really just never know. Ill believe hero talents are really an “evergreen” system when they last past this expansion.

This is exactly right.

I don’t understand the mentality of the priest-playing blizzard sympathizers towards their class design.

It’s almost like a justification mentality. “If I admit my class is behind the times, then I’m basically admitting that I’m a fool for playing said class. So I’ll just say that I’m fine with it.”

And this mentality does so much damage towards the progression of the class.

I’ve yet to see a counter argument that doesn’t just ooze “coping.” When people start arguing “priests technically have a slow in mind flay,” you’ve just lost my rationale ear forever.

They should have just left interrupts as a PvP mechanic. Playing whack-a-mole in the middle your rotation isn’t worth the amount of problems that have arisen in PvP and PvE from this one mechanic.

Are you meaning remove all interruptible casts from PvE entirely?

If so, hard disagree. They’re a fundamental part of keys, and to a lesser extent, raids.

But that doesn’t mean priests shouldn’t have one.

A bad one, so would quite a few specs actually considering the stuff these hero talents add to them and their playstyles

But… again, the point is that they ARENT going to do that? they’ve stated as such? ergo, not borrowed power?

They’ve announced it’s an evergreen feature. Not borrowed power for sure.

Maybe after “The Last Titan” they will revisit it, but over the next 3 expansions, hero talents are here.

I do think a lot of priests want way more than this.

That aside, I mostly agree ATM that our utility needs a boost to be more in line in PvE especially.

I wouldn’t have any problem with us lacking utility if that was true of all the healers, or if priest was given a lot to make up for that lack. But considering neither of those are remotely true it needs to be rethought.

I want Shining Force back, and Spectral Guise. Apparently Luminious Barrier is trash too which is unfortunate because it would be preferred in pvp to a non moving barrier.

Sorry had to swap to my priest :smiley: Right? I use to love it in pvp (many years ago) to give me some breather room, now it fails like 90% of the time. What the heck?

Fire/retrain the intern working on this class cause it can’t be a full fledged dev…

Ridiculous effort.

It was ridiculous that shining force was even taken away in the first place and their reasoning behind it.

Doing really well on my disc priest… definitely the best iteration I’ve ever played of disc.

Since legion.

Oh boy this hasn’t aged well has it? Disc is benched in favour of presevoker doing 30% more hps than everyone else and having a similar profile to disc but instead of 1.5 mins it can do it every 20 seconds. GG

30%, really? Resto shaman and holy priest are the S-tier in raids right now.

Blizzard is trying to tune the healers so their hps is almost exactly the same.

Prevokers will still need some more nerfs, but Resto Druid stonks definitely went up.

The issue with M+ is simply the amount of curses/poisons shoved into every dungeon.

Ara-Kara = Poisons
City of Threads = Poisons
Dawnbreaker = Curse
Stonevault = Curse
Mists = Poisons
Necrotic Wake = Diseases
Siege = Diseases/Poisons
Grim Batol = Curses

When will they figure out a way to tune healers to have relatively the same utility?

It’s dungeon design more then anything. I don’t think we’ve had a season where almost every single dungeon has a curse or poison before.

Then we get this new weekly affix that is trivialized by poison cleansing totem on a 45s cd while I’m sitting on a 2 minute mass dispel.
