The person I was directly replying to. That warlock with the R name.
Maybe you missed it in the threads it happens but I’ve seen at least 4 people get wrongfully banned and confirmation of it being overturned on these forums this week.
Thank you for always being civil in your replies Pearl happy Thanksgiving.
Sorry, I meant, who do you feel proved Renjiji wrong?
When there’s a ban-wave (which I can’t confirm this is, but it has all the tell-tale signs), it usually means literally thousands of accounts are actioned. If only 4 were over-turned, that’s not any sort of sign that there’s a massive mistake being made. In fact, it would indicate that the ban-wave was pretty successful!
Technically speaking, not fine. In fact, this thread is actually a violation of the rules. Posting about account actions is simply not allowed. And while there is some leniency here in the CS forums, it all this silly back and forth that leads to threads being locked anyway.
Orlyia and Vrakthris directly posting in their threads that there was in fact a mistake made, the bans were lifted, and to check their email for more information.
EVERY appeal is looked at by a live person. The only automated part of the ticket process is responses that are sent when ticket times are high that basically boil down to “ticket times are high, here are some things to try while you wait”. But that is not used for appeal tickets.
There can certainly be false positives with a ban wave. If the detection criteria put into the software is flawed in some way, it may catch those who did not actually break the rules. It happens.
The GMs who take first line appeals are not going to know that though. They are just going to see that the account was flagged for the criteria and uphold it.
The Hacks team who actually handle Warden and the detection criteria will sometimes find that something went amiss and a small portion of false positives exist. Usually they reverse that in a group “unban” wave along with an apology. That takes several days to a week after a ban wave though. Reviewing the detection criteria takes times.
The idea that there is no auto reply sent for tickets, including appeals is just wrong though - the first one usually is. Then it is GMs using a template after that.
For all of this, the best option for people is to appeal and see the process through. If the Hacks team determines that there was a flaw in the criteria causing some false positives, they will reverse those.
As Perl has said, no, because it is actually in violation of the Code of Conduct. And also no, because this is not a place to vent about having action taken against an account for violating the Code of Conduct or End User License Agreement. No where on the forums is.
No, they are repeating information given by Blizzard’s employees who know how the system works. The Dracthyr that they responded to was making a claim without any basis from people who would actually know how the system works.
We really don’t need a running commentary on who gets overturned or not. Everyone’s situation is their own, and just because someone else was a false positive does not mean everyone is a false positive.
Please stop trolling for arguments in this forum. All forums, really, but especially this one.
