That would just be… ridiculous. Silvermoon is a Horde capital. That’s not likely to ever change, not in game, nor out.
And even if there may be some citizens of Silvermoon disgruntled with being part of the Horde, the fact is that the Blood Elves have been members of the Horde for years now. I would imagine that most of the citizenry have grown accustomed to being part of the Horde after all this time, and any who aren’t happy now have an easy “in” to the Alliance through the Ren’dorei if they really want to change allegiance.
Those and feathers!!! I have those on ALL my Tauren toons too!!!
Tell that to the spiteful types… they just want the chance to “stick it” to the Belves (as if the race wrote itself or something).
I don´t even expect to get Silvermoon out of the TBC bubble, is basically one of the ONLY things the devs have told firmly “NO” in this game… and they have told so like 3 times already. Metzen even softcore mocked some poor customer in a Blizzcon that asked about this.
Frankly, as far as canon lore is concerned, the Belves DON´T make their people stay by force in Silvermoon. Any elf is free to leave, they just have to be aware leaving for “the enemy faction” makes them obviously persona non grata in Quel´thalas (and that´s quite coherent, Lor´themar can´t have spies running rampant under his nose and defying his autorithy in the Horde´s eyes 24/7).
Hehehe… I expected that, you DO like the color pink quite a lot.
Maybe a different type of flower? If only for variety.
Also, more color variety for Tauren flowers AND feathers (Azeroth is a world with pink/purple/green/blue colored HUGE birds after all).
There are a lot of ideas for where future expansions will lead. The team likes to see what stories players gravitate toward and change plans for future stories accordingly.
The sword of Sargeras has a part to play in future events.
Wait and see if Azeroth’s world soul wakes up.
Tuskar don’t have souls and this is why they don’t appear in the Shadowlands. (Joking)
Life and death have different meanings in the Shadowlands, so we will have to wait and see if everyone who starts the expansion alive will still be alive at the end!
There was nothing in the new customization options that went against the story or narrative. These customization options were more about giving the players many ways to express their character.
Adding customization options like Wildhammer tattoos is there to be able to differentiate your character’s place in the world. You don’t necessarily need to have a unique starting zone for each different clan, and no matter what the quest text says, if you want to roleplay your character as a specific subrace, then that’s what it is!
I would like to see (okay, beyond more than 4 faces that are actually 1 face wth Bliz) some new warpaint options for tauren, separate mane colors (also for worgen), and separate face and body paint.
A very valid criticism of them for sure. One could argue they’re quite hypocritical.
Though I doubt that the Scholars there would agree.
Sure but didn’t he come back still because of the Val’kyr? they’ve lost them again.
(I might be remembering wrong)
That I agree with. Its hypocritical of the Scholars to continue to keep the name. Especially if they do intend to become Void Elves. (Though maybe they’re just waiting to change their name for that event?)
Its probably just Blizzard saying that the elves going to check out these new void elves just come from both groups though.
Again… Wish they’d be more explanative so we knew for sure.
Which is pretty encouraging that eventually they will put the finishing touches on the tools for players to play how they want (assuming the game/company doesn’t implode first).
Also WB Cez if you’re still hanging around and all the OG people.
Anything tribal IS welcomed for our Tauren “uber tanks”.
i mean imagining some Goblin trying to make fun of the “pretty flowers” attached to a 9 ft Tauren IS pretty comical. As a matter of fact I don´t think anyone would dare to make chauvinistic comments to a 9 ft furry “monster” in regards to his aesthetical views.
If only Shadowlands were the expac dealing with THE magical blacksmith that forged Froustmorne and it´s an expert in regards to “how to build a construct” a.k.a. the Primus.
I mean, you´re right. But fact is, the venue to get more “Dominance oriented” magical artifacts or magical tachings to put ALL the knowledge the Primus has at the reach of the Forsaken is sitting right there!! And Blizzard in their usual “brilliance” didn´t think about bringing an actual FORSAKEN character and throwing it in the middle of Maldraxxus, ffs!!
Zelling representred the “correct path” to create Undead out of actual willing individuals (more a meta concept).
While that might be true, there’s really no reason that Blood Elves couldn’t get ports of the Void Elf hairstyles sans tentacles. Several of the current Void Elf hairstyles are themselves variants of Blood Elf hairstyles, so it wouldn’t be without precedent if Blizzard were to take the unique hairstyles that Void Elves have and give Blood Elves variants of them.
Yeah, I wish I was able to find the actual video interview because it was so powerful how Danuser said it, it was like “and don’t let anyone else tell you how you define your own character” - something like that.
Also he confirms that simply because the quest text might state say ‘void elf’ or ‘blood elf’ if you want to RP High Elf then that’s what it is along with confirming they don’t have to include in-game lore outside of simply offering the customization options to do so - and that these options are more for allowing players many ways to express their characters.
All those points add up to why I’m highly sure the finishing touches for HEs customization will come to VEs (alongside other goodies VE fans wish to have too ofc).
You’re entirely right… they really need to have much more import in this story… omg Sylvanas is the main bad guy and there is ZERO Forsaken main characters…
Or they could be thinking of trimming a few words off of that statement.
I agree 100% with the idea that your character is your character no matter what people say. Way back when, if you wanted to say your nelf, or human modelled character was a high elf, that’s your prerogative and more power to you. But you can’t connect customization options to that because that’s a never ending task as everyone has unique things they’d want. Maybe they will keep catering to your request, but that statement doesn’t mean that they will, just that they’re not going to come out and say anyone’s rp background is wrong.
Sure, just like a Blood Elf player playing as ‘a High Elf’ is utilizing an RP tool too.
Here’s another snippet from that day, with the question asked more directly.
If you use Wildhammer tattoos, are you part of that clan? Seeing how you start in a Bronzebeard starting experience.
It’s complex - can’t make a starting experience for every subset, it would consume so many resources.
You have the freedom in your mind to roleplay your character how you like. You get to decide how you want your character to be.
They asked literally if since the starting experience for a Wildhammer counts since you’re doing the Bronzebeard intro, and Steve is like ‘Yes, despite it being that intro’ (paraphrasing).
So just because a race has a specific starting intro and quest text refers to them as so and so, it ultimately doesn’t matter according to the Narrative Designer who gets consulted on lore appropriateness.
These statements are meant to show that every option they added in Shadowlands is
Lore appropriate
More so for player customization
They don’t need to explain every option in-game
You define what sub-race your character is despite what quest text/someone else may say, only you - the player of your own character - get to define what your character is.
