Void elves can look like blood elves but not vise versa

speaking of lore, Blood Elf scholars in Telogrus rift never really made much sense to me. I mean if they are studying the void, wouldn’t they have been booted from camp belf. It makes it look like suddenly Blood elves are now okay with belfs studying the Void.

Hmm, now how to work one into the stomp stomp clap rhythm of we will rock you

I wanted to comment on your first sentence in its own post just for positive vibes but I wanna elaborate on two points

This is where I was

And this is where I am now.

I just think it’s important to remember that the side that’s asking for more that doesn’t value visual distinction has already received so much to the point where hair is the last visual factor, and why should they still feel entitled to it over other fans voices.

I think thats why I lack sympathy for people wanting those options now, like I’m good on it, you know, like I feel like I understand and did the understanding and in return you see so many disingenuously not understand the opposing side.

I just wanted to elaborate a bit on those two points your whole post was really well written but those two points stuck out to me / I can relate to.

this 100%, I want my scars that show that we are a race of survivors, not some cheap clunky jewelry. I want the rune etching, I only call it etching because it looks more like it has been either etched or burned into the flesh.

This is actually really easy, add the music, then build it around your foot work and your claps. For example when it goes we will we will rock you, you clap twice then stomp twice or mix between the people involved where some clap and some stomp. :yum: :yum: :yum:

They were talking about customization for these races in general, which in this example contained HE customizations, not that they’re going to add more High elf customizations in the future.

It does cause terribad problems for canon lore junkies like myself… if “nothing” is 100% certain, then the lore IS meaningless and the very story basis structure just as irrelevant.

When basically the lead story designer tells you the fanfics at the World´s End Tavern may very well be “canon from a certain point of view”, the investment in the races / factions / etc. becomes VERY underwhelming… at least for people like me.

You can reward Danuser for such “brilliant” lore inputs. And then people wonders why BfA was such a trainwreck… look at the people in chargue of writting it, the hacks.

We both gal. A poster months ago called them “scarifications”… looking at the irl deffinition on that practice, I say that yes, they look VERY similar.

The fact scarifications are more “tribal-esque” based artistic practices is a bonus as far as Belves are concerned imho. Anything that makes them look “closer” to Horde themathics, the better… I´m pretty freaking tired of having to fight “QQQ, Blood elves are a mistake in the Hurde, silvermoon x Alliance!!” Helfer types for a decade on top of “Blood elves ruined MUH mudhut Hurde!!” types on the Horde too!!.

It´s been more than 10 years dudes, time to accept this and move on.

I think that’s more to imply that there are other Blood Elves besides Umbric’s group that were interested in studying the void and/or were unhappy with being part of the Horde. It’s also a way to suggest where new Void Elves may be coming from.

With Blood Elves being far greater in number than Alliance allied High Elves, Blizzard may have wanted for the sustainability of Void Elves make some kind of sense in the lore.

If Alliance High Elves were too few in number to be a playable race, and the initial batch of Void Elves was even fewer, then it stands to reason that Alliance allied High Elves alone would not be enough to sustain Void Elves as a playable race. Thus the Silvermoon Scholars in Telogrus are essentially Horde deserters and presumably soon-to-be Void Elves.

You know I adore you I still find this so funny

My last boyfriend, and two of my best friends are cheer fanatics and currently still in college. I run for the hills when ever I even hear one of my friends start a sentence I think is cheer related. It’s like a blackhole of cheer YouTube videos ready to be discussed with me. I’ll have to start paying attention though if there’s really this “squad” happening hah

Yes I think they should.

Honestly their lack of explaining how Void Elves (Also Forsaken for the second time) gain more members is among many things I really wish we had lore explanations for.

Something that is available for a character should always be something you can find information on easily so that new players could understand what their character can represent with one option over another.

Now that should still not trump whatever someone wants to say their character is as far as their own rp and headcanon’s. Lore should be specific and easily understandable. What we do in our Rp should be loose and open minded.

ALL that said; I very much understand the position several of my friends are in here where their favorite race feels like its losing out in this regard.

Still if they DID add those things in the end I would want a lore explanation that firmly makes it clear that Void Elves can be varied in their void presentation.

I understand that feeling. Its a constant conflict. I do not think that what a person wants to use for their rp purpose should be held to a strict regime, but anything that one wants to specifically say about the lore itself and the games story should be held to a relatively strict standard.

Implications are always around. But without an actual source for most of them we can only make guesses until its made more clear.

Like the Wayfarers and Scholars are probably becoming Void Elves. The how and if that changes them is entirely a guess.

All we know right now is that they are there studying with Locus-Walker.

I figure they’re blood elves who heard about it and decided it was worth the risk. They probably are at least effectively banned from returning for you know… traitorous behavior.

Some Blood Elves choosing to go that route doesn’t immensely surprise me and them choosing to keep their name to still honor the fallen seems fair.

(again though… nothing really explains it)

They shouldn’t be added at all.

I don’t mind lore updates for what has been done currently however to add story to confirm High Elves joining VE ranks. But visual distinction should be maintained moving forward as so far those voices and fans haven’t been listened to.

I’m not sure I would want to be honored by them. I mean it’s like, Hey you remember that guy who betrayed us to Arthas and brought down our protections nearly eradicating our race. Well we are off to study the same teachings that drove him to betraying us.

I will note, funnily enough, one of the things dwarves got WAS pink and blue hair from death knights.

…I have yet to use it on my squad, but there it is.

Humans also got a pinkish tone.

And as usual, I fundamentally agree with “Please stop copy/pasting between blood and void elves, Bliz.”

Yup, as usual the simplest IS the most probable explanation.

I just hope the radical anti-Belf Helfer faction won´t take this notion and use it for their “See!!!? Belves HATE the Hurde, make Silvermmon shared!!!” or any other nonsense reductive take they usually have on their “arguments”.

Forsaken got in BfA the literally BEST explanation on how they could get more members in the character of Zelling.

But then “Danuser-fication” happened and the poor fella bit the dust in a “shock” scenario designed to “uplift” the image of Baine (newflash: failed spectacularly on that account for a lot of players… If anything now i have ANOTHER reason to detest Baine).

Well, keeping the name while they deal with BOTH joining the faction invested in murdering Belves on military affairs AND invested in researching the very magical school that could potentially give cause to the Sunwell´s destruction doesn´t seem terribly coherent. It is a little tone deaf If I say so myself.

Natural Hair colors still accomplish that.

I do however hope VEs get story additions that cements visual distinction in place and story HE fans claim to care about, what happened to the people that were so prevalent that used to echo “we would love VEs so much if only they came from former Alliance HEs”, most of the visuals you now have + if you could get that story confirmation that is a positive, the hair remaining with BEs doesn’t mean you can’t get more options just void oriented.

Well, i say that if devs want to cross the “hair color” thematics, then fairness is fairness and ALL races should probably benefit, not only the convenient Helfer vehicle (If Tauren get pink colorations you can bet I´ll make my Sunwalker a PINK COW!!.. And she will be AMAZING because of it alone, period.)

No other races have the unique situation of a carbon copy across faction lines.

But I do support all other races benefitting from more sharing.

I think the single customization addition that has brought me the most joy is those stupid tauren flowers.

They’re ridiculous.

I have them on all my tauren and they’re delightful

I approve of this highly, like to the extreme.

The point of customizations is to make up your own story for your character. There was a quote about “don’t let anyone tell you how to play your character” or something like that. The customizations are technically going to always be lore friendly, but not necessarily explained because it’s a personal thing for the players, not Blizz.
