Unacceptable CS

Someone made this post in December 20 of 2020: Oceanic server lag

Not a single blue response to an issue that is making this game unplayable.

World of Warcraft has been in this stagnant “if you keep paying, nothing will change” state since the end of Pandaria. The only time Blizzard has ever acknowledged a problem in earnest is when they need to save face for an investor meeting.

So, sorry, but you might have to wait for Oceanic pop to dwindle before you see any reaponse.

That’s pretty well it. It seems to be their attitude. They had something similar happening in BfA - first 6 months the lag was terrible. A post was made on Technical Support, the blues kept popping on, asking for us to do reports, saying they were investigating it, over and over again through the months. It only seemed to ease when the Oceanic player population shrank.

I doubt anything different will happen this time.

OP, it isn’t about unacceptable CS - its about an apparent lack of interest by the teams responsible for fixing game issues.

Are you still experiencing lag in OCE ? I made a ticket at the time and it appears it had since been addressed.

Normal threads probably are not necessarily responded to especially in our OCE. Someone asked for a blue post and the next one we got was the blue post about the price increases

The company I work for if you don’t address issues managers come down on you… I guess it doesn’t happen here… it’s not like an issue where we don’t like how a class plays nah there’s a network based issue making your game play terrible…

Like even a “we’re aware” would be nice.

Tell someone if they have a game issue to post in customer support, Blues are much more active there, don’t ever expect to see them in GD

The only time they talk to us Aussies is to tell us the price is going up

-_-

Mail them some of those spiders you got hangin about everywhere.

The server lag is intermittent and probably not fixable.

Blizzard hasn’t had good customer service since like … 2008 or something when they ceased direct phone calling to CS agents, not surprising.

it’s a complaint thread, in a non-support area.

what are you expecting?

if you need support, go post your WinMTR in tech support.

Ignore the mass threads which are years old and irrelevant today, create a new one.

if you’re not prepared to do the basic minimum information required for someone to take a look, what are you expecting to happen?

i’ve never had any issues with support… perhaps your idea of support is “the customer is always right”? …or you’re asking GMs for things which they can’t do?

It’s no coincidence that the people who claim CS is bad, always choose to omit what they were unable to get assistance with.

Had 1-2 people constantly harassing me and threatening me repeatedly as well as trying to hack my discord. They had a group of 5+ people report my characters repeatedly once to get forced renames + mutes and nothing was done to them after multiple attempts at trying to get Blizzard to do something about it.

Customer isn’t always right but GM’s sure as hell show that they use automated responses for the most part and don’t even look into issues. This is just one example.

how was this happening?
if you’ve got someone on ignore, and they circumvent the ignore feature, blizzard take this very seriously.
…i feel like there’s more to this.

why would this have anything to do with blizzard?

Because they are threatening a player with real life consequences as well as taking my character names and forcing silences on me?.. This isn’t allowed at all in the ToS and nothing was done to them even though I posted screenshots from what they did in the tickets.

If I knew how it was happening I would have stopped it Mr. Nobully.

if you feel as if your life is in danger, contact your local law enforcement.

a character name needs to be breaking rules before a rename is forced.

Incorrect.

You can have someone’s name forcibly changed if you are reported enough, same for muting.

Either way, Blizzard CS has very rarely come in handy when it has been needed.

i’ve never heard of a name change being forced unless the name is inappropriate.
…i feel like you probably had some edgelord names and thought you were being clever, and it backfired on you.

there is no “muting”.
there is a squelch, there is a silence.
they can squelch you… and if that’s happening frequently, it’s probably warranted.

Yes… squelch = mute. Thank you for understanding.

You can have a group of 3-5 people report you at once and it will automatically log you out and silence your account for a period of time. It does not need a CS representative to look at it until later, which usually takes multiple days to have your ticket resolved.

Being mass reported by trolls = “probably warranted” Okay bud

And that’s your clue right there.

Remember when these lag issues started happening on the Oceanic servers? I do. It was at the launch of BfA, just after there was a Oceanic-only 15-hour maintenance shutdown.

That was the point they clearly removed a big chunk of the original Oceanic server capacity, and ever since we’ve had the massive lag on reset days, or doing world bosses (the telltale sign is if you join a world boss group hosted on a NA server, it’s fine).

They put the Oceanic servers in place for WoD and expanded them during the disastrous launch - but the bean counters probably looked at the load graphs and figured that they could save a few sheckels.

It will likely never be fixed, because it’s the result of a deliberate cost-cut.

All the “run a pathping and WinMTR and other irrelevant data and hey look it’s your internet and not our fault” threads show just how pointless even posting about it in the tech support forums is.

Feel free to report my name as often as you like. I’m guessing you’ll be suspended for abuse of the report system long before I’m forced to change my name.
