Thats why they jam that social contract in our faces every so often.
I see no reason to follow it in any regard ever if we are allowed to disregard what it says when kicking someone for nothing theyve done wrong. Why bother trying to adhere to it ever…
oh no…a player had to use their own mitigation/heals? the world is ending lol.
Youd think it was given their behavior in cases like that.
over pulling then refusing to use their own heals even when they see theyve OOM the healer whos trying to keep up with four players being trashed because a tank doesnt know how to do his job himself lol
a few of us have a theory about that…ive mentioned the theory in some of the tickets Ive filed.
Amazingly well put-together post. Looks like the perfect status report I’d expect my team to provide me any time there’s an issue(s)
Anyhow, just wanted to add that I stand with you 1000%. I’ve been playing WoW since 2006 and have been through possibly every kind of player or experience possible in that time. Both my wife and 9 y/o daughter have active subs. I’ve been deliberately keeping them away from dungeons and group content with randoms because I know how toxic and elitist many players can be in casual content. I’m afraid they’ll get discouraged, or worse, hurt. That’s really not the kind of environment a game should have.
On another note, just the other day, one of my guildies was tanking a Timewalking dungeon as a DH and he got kicked from the group for not doing enough dps. He was hit with a 30-minute debuff and he was using dungeons as a way to level up. He was around level 76 or so at the time.
I definitely agree there needs to be more transparency in why players are choosing to kick other players instead of just going with a majority vote so players can be potentially penalized for vote kicking someone out of toxicity.
Does it say we can’t kick people?
Well I’m certain that wasn’t it
And just how would you know that? I was there.
No one kicked your tank for not doing enough DPS. What’s the real story? Was he being disrespectful? Not holding aggro? Too squishy?
I can see something like that being hugely abused by people that are in discord groups and friends. “Oh you boost my score so when I go rando I can do what I want.” type of thing.
Any time players are allowed the power to decide the fate of others it has been/and or will be abused. We’ve seen that on these forums as a matter of fact.
It would be incredibly easy to make it so you can’t affect the score of someone you queue with.
There’s no “real story”. It’s just like that some times. If you’re new to WoW, I get it and I welcome you. If you’re not new, you’ve been playing/living in a bubble. Sometimes you get grouped with toxic people. He was quiet, had no issues holding aggro, and wasn’t taking much damage. There was, as I said, quite literally nothing wrong. I imagine the other 2 dps and healer were in a group together.
These things happen in WoW. Don’t turn everything into some mystery.
If it was a three stack, it would have required the fourth person to vote yes as well.
Did you vote yes on your friend?
Or did three random people decide to kick him for no reason?
Or was there a reason you don’t agree with?
Really makes one wonder.
You’re really making yourself look foolish here. I’m just responding to make you realize it. I said I imagine the other 2 dps and healer were in a group, meaning I don’t know for sure. They had the majority vote and decided to do so.
Whether you choose to believe it or not is beyond me and, ultimately, harmful to the health of the game in a thread where people are asking for more transparency on group kicks in casual content. You are here literally arguing something out of complete ignorance and stubbornness.
So is lying to push the narrative.
But I get it, maybe you’re not lying, maybe you really truly believe three random people just decided to kick a tank when a run was going smoothly strictly for his low DPS.
You know, DPS are often quick to kick tanks for no reason, what with how quick it is to queue as a DPS and how easy it is to find tanks.
And you wouldn’t be biased at all in favor of your friend. That would be crazy to think that.
I have no desire or reason to come to these forums seeking approval by lying, especially not by strangers. Literally just came here to chime in on this thread out of good will to help the OP with their case and provide further evidence in case this thread gets looked at by staff. In many cases, yes, there are reasons people hide to make themselves victims. That isn’t me. WoW certainly does have a toxic elitist mindset compared to many other MMORPGs unfortunately. My skin is thick enough to avoid it and not drag me down, but many players aren’t able to do that and it can be a deterrent to play.
many many times…
sometimes you have to know when to walk away.
this is one of those times.
- I don’t kick anyone from groups.
- How do you know if there was “no rules” broken to initiate a kick?
There are going to be those situations where there was a good reason. I think people are talking about the idiotic ones.
What actually defines as one of those? When removed from the group, you don’t see the reason being kicked, and even if you whispered someone from the dungeon, they don’t even have to answer why you were removed from the group.
