Titanic Research Archive missing ranks after Faction Change

Yah I’m hoping it’s fixed by next reset.
If not, I’ll just have to take the L and go into it.

I mean, we’re all starting to reach the cap now of 25k + 5 visions. I really hope it’s fixed soon, as friends are waiting as well. It’s not just the players who transfered who are getting messed about by this bug, it’s the friends of players who have to wait as well, since we put our talents into the group research etc.

If you’re looking for solutions, please think about refunding the mementos rather than refunding the lost talents.

I had this issue together with my husband as we’ve transferred early into 8.3 (we transferred on the 19th) and after a couple disappointed ticket answers, we figured that we would not receive compensation, so we just sucked up and carried on with progressing through Titanic Research. Thankfully we had tested Horrific Visions on the PTR so we had enough experience to make up for most of the losses, but not everyone had the same luck.

This also happened to me on a server change (no faction change). Will this be fixed as well?

Happened to me as well. Only one point in singular sanitation expertise AND Expansive Mind…Already put two more points into Expansive mind because I’m not going to sit around and wait for a fix…BUT this is absolutely garbage.

When/How will this be implemented?

Please fix this already, I can’t hold onto any more vessels anymore which I have to do till a fix is deployed so i can get back the upgrades I already farmed for.

There are no developers on the forums, unfortunately, and they are going as fast as they can. There is no benefit for them to take their time. Rarely is a bug fixed at the snap of one’s fingers, but one of this complexity needs many, many snaps.

The thing about this bug is that:

Players are PAYING for a service. A fee that is not at all cheap for a game where you ALREADY pay 15 a month for AND any expansions.
A larger group of people are making these purchases due to the discount going on. Even with the percentage off, spending possibly over 40 bucks for the service and getting handed a not-so-complete product really sucks.

Blizzard has created and held this game to a standard most would rank as the best MMO in the history of gaming. If they want to keep that standard they need to keep us in the loop for all details available. It’s literally some of these people 9 to 5 to do just that.

I have supported this game for many years, and plan to continue to do just that. Bugs like these happen and waiting 1-4 weeks for a fix is normal.

I just would like continued updates regarding the situation at the very least.

and maybe compensation for the mishap too heheh

No, you pay for access to the servers. No where in the ToU says that the game will be error or bug free.

In fact, the EULA specifically and explicitly warns that the opposite could be case:

Limited Warranty. THE PLATFORM, ACCOUNTS, AND THE GAME(S) ARE PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” BASIS FOR USE, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF CONDITION, UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE USE, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NONINFRINGEMENT, TITLE, AND THOSE ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE.

You pay for a large warm coffee, but get a small cold one.
The person at the counter apologizes and says I’ll fix it for you just give me a bit.
10 minutes go by and no communication from the guy right in front of you.
How would you feel? That’s what a lot of people are feeling like.

Lucky enough for us in this post, we had a good amount of interaction by the blues.

And the servers I’m paying for is one thing. I paid for this transfer, this service. That’s the point I’m trying to make.

The problem with analogies is that they are rarely ever correct. For example, Blizzard didn’t mix up your order and give you something different.

Your character was transferred but ended up experiencing a bug. Having paid for the service doesn’t have any effect on fixing the bug. As they’ve made abundantly clear, they’re working hard to fix this.

It may not be 100% accurate on the bug, but at the end of the day you paid for the service.
The mistake is on their end. It’s similar in the aspect of expectation. The product their selling had a mistake in it. The mistake was communicated in a fix. Now we wait to receive our correct coffee. That AGAIN, we PAID for.

I’m not the one upset if you read my prior posts on this thread. I’m fine waiting.

The matter is anyone going to defend blizzard for this bug needs to understand the general feeling players are having about it.

Everyone posting here does understand. A number have had issues with purchases themselves. It’s hard to not be upset when something isn’t working properly, but no one on the forums (including the Blues) either created the bug or is responsible for fixing the bug.

Agreed, I’ve had a particularly bad go of things with blizzard. It took them more then 2 weeks to fix the AH mail bug making it so I couldn’t transfer in time for the new raid. Some other bs happened and continued to happen, and then after waiting all that time I finally get transferred and… I’m missing two points in my research, yay! I transferred with two of my friends, they had no problems transferring and are not missing any research so I was the “lucky” one.

With how things have been going “we’re working on it” doesn’t really suffice, I hate that I’m behind in my research, I finally broke down and spent my momentos and after putting 3/3 in one of the trees I still can’t put any more into either the one to find chests, or the one past it which is the one we all care about, the sanity back on elite kill.
