I literally don’t have to say anything else.
Maybe they’ll just use AI to replace deserters until their backfills make it into the instance. I wouldn’t hate that. It’s better than nothing, right?
Vote kick and option, increase deserter time and make it account wide.
Get rid of the scum!
That’s the only place AI has is in that exact instance you just explained, Erelir.
Nothing else.
Goal is to make AI unrecognizable in small numbers, to fill up BGs unbeknownst to the playerbase. Then we’ll see AI filling the cities, out in the world and questing. It’ll all be an illusion of an MMO. First it was CRZ and merged servers, next is AI. In a few years you’ll sit back and wonder if anyone plays WoW anymore, and realize that it truly might be just you.
Not gonna lie, had this same thought.
Don’t know why they can’t populate queues with AI.
They could put levelers in with AI, or give them the option to play with twinks, or put AI in exp: off and give twinks their queues.
On one hand, that sounds like a really hollow experience but on the other, it may be preferable to the endless queue.
It would probably be easier to just re-merge the brackets and enforce better scaling and enchant restrictions than to introduce AI in a satisfactory way. Sort of defeats the meaning of “PvP.”
I play mostly at night, and queues really slow down at 4AM, I’d be fine with AI players filling in if queues last more than, say, 10-15 minutes.
Of course, maybe have a minimum player count, and Blizzard should aim to have even numbers of players on each side. When a player backfills, how the AI is replaced by the player is something that is tricky. Like, an AI despawning mid fight isn’t acceptable. Maybe the player spawns in place of the AI player, with a view of what is happening until then.
100% agree on this!
When queues increase i’d rather see them intentionally start BGs short, but still even, with no AI and no intention of filling it as the BG continues. Start WSG 7v7 and let it go
Have you played it? These bots are literally a threat to nothing.
Because they won’t take data and improve upon them?
It’s clearly something they are working on as stated above me, to give the illusion there are a lot of people playing the game. We aren’t talking short term goals here, it will be something they sneak in slowly as they get the tech perfected.
I think it’d be interesting if quest or dungeon mobs took some of this behavior. It’d be more interesting than how PVE is now where the mobs just make a mad dash charge straight at you and just stand there until you die or they do.
I also think it’d be nice if they were used to backfill in guarantee loss games. Nothing’s worse than waiting 10 minutes and joining a WSG that’s 0-2 with 3 mins to go.
We are Legion… coughs
If the AI right now is DOS 3.1, I would hate to see what it can accomplish when it’s Windows 10.
Couldn’t agree more.
We’re crossing a dangerous line when we allow AI to completely substitute a player. Having AI fill in while we wait for a player to zone in is one thing, having AI outright take a player’s spot (even when the loss feels like a guarantee) is another.
Honestly they were AoEing the node I was trying to ninja and they never left less than two to defend so the way I see it, they’re smarter than the alliance.
The truth stings a bit.
All you have to do is let them cap Blacksmith and they will basically idle there the rest of the game only sending one or two at a time to capture another one of the nodes. Its a guaranteed win.
Restrict premades so solo pugs don’t get farmed.
