They Wanted to Kick Him Because He Didn't Talk, Then His Mom Messaged Me

Earthquakes do happen.

Moms not knowing about how chat interactions work in game, but also know how the chat works to find whispers and reply to them, do not exist.

They either know both, or don’t know either, or worse case scenario they know about the chat interactions but don’t know how to reply. There is no situation where they are oblivious to chat interactions while knowing how to navigate the chat itself.

Normal people don’t jump right to insults, so I would reevaluate that.

What makes the OP seem like it isn’t an entire fabrication or embellishment? What rings true here to you?

So you WANT to believe it, not that it’s true or not, you want it to be true.

Naw I’m just autistic and love numbers and understand it’s statistically impossible that this has never occured.

Mom: “You can play WoW but you can’t chat.”

Me: “K mom, thanks!”

Mom: “Ok let me check your game to make sure you didn’t chat.”

Me: Alt+F4 “Oh sorry mom the game just crashed.”

Cool, so we found the answer then:

You can call it what you want but its white knighting over what would be insanely low probabilities.

I believe you missed my point.

Probably. I do that a lot.

Why are we assuming this happens at all?

It’s either that or assuming that most people are actively out to grief others so they just automatically click yes.

Or that most people have a reading capability that doesn’t extend beyond “Yes” and “No.”

It’s actually incredibly probable. Millions of players+abused kick feature+parental guidance settings=statistically impossible that have never been kicked than went crying to their parents due to parental control features.

It’s like life outside of Earth. Mathematically it doesn’t make sense to be obtuse about it’s existence outside of paranoia which is a human psyche problem not a numbers issue.

I’d kick a 14 year old that cries to mommy too.

Working as intended.

Your premise is already faulty. The feature is not considered as one that can be abused nor are there actions against players for kicking someone.

Your logic is hyper reductive and applies to your Life outside earth scenario better as there are less known quantities in the galaxy then there are on earth or in WoW. There is no possible way to know any numbers about who abuses the vote kick because it is not considered abuse and is not tracked. Which causes a lack of data, which unlike space exploration, will not be filled in by later discoveries or exploration.

Microscopic life and “worms” show this is more than just a statistical probability. I appreciate you attempting to apply logic that works one way to an area where it doesn’t function the same.

You are literally memeing. “The chances of finding a whale in the lake down the street are low but not impossible.”

all i got from this is that the kid’s parents use wow to babysit their child and suck at it.

Many rules and regulations don’t make any sense. This would fall into that category.

What they mean by that is that it’s on us as players to determine what is a reasonable reason to kick. This doesn’t actually mean that every kick is reasonable. It just means that you can have good or poor judgment and nothing will happen to you because of it.

It’s on you to choose to be a troll and not be punished for it. If you choose to be a troll you are still a troll whether Blizzard punishes you for it or not.

Outsourcing what is reasonable from server communities to Blizzard’s rules doesn’t actually change that. It just means you are immune to repercussions for choosing to be a troll in this one situation. Which only inspires more trolling. :+1:

Just go through this thread, where they basically admit “It’s OK to abuse vote kick system and they don’t have a solution for it.” And then you wonder WHY they even bother with new “Social Agreement” when they can’t even enforce that.

I was on my Tank toon and was just trying to ensure others WON’T get kicked unfairly but didn’t work out. When questioned, I was eventually got kicked and as a Tank, I could get queue faster but I really felt for first two players and wanted to report that toxic person who was abusing the system for OTHERS.

When you try to report toxicity and are NOT even asked to provide details or any sign of “Customer Support” personals ensuring THEY WILL AT LEAST LOOK INTO THE LOGS, then you know it’s just some heartless robots without much care and clocking hours, who would close the thread when they can’t provide the right answer just because!

While you aren’t wrong my point wasn’t on the ethics, it was on there being no way to have any data on the subject.

If they are going to be doing anything involving something like vote kick abuse, which data wise doesn’t exist as it is not tracked, they lose out instantly.

Which they do anyway by wanting a falsified fanfic to be truth.

That’s a fair perspective and once again I doubt the OP’s story.

But “it can’t be abused cuz Blizz” doesn’t float with me. It is actively abused because this is the internet and anything that can be abused will be.

People shirking that by repeating that “all reasons are justified” are probably initiating a lot of ridiculous kicks.

The VtK system is a good example of why libertarianism and anarchy don’t actually work. Eventually it all comes down to “I could do it with no repercussions, so I did it, lol deal with it.”

People talk in random dungeons?

There is no reason to kick someone in a NORMAL or HEROIC dungeon this late in the season. TBH
