There's people like this

Lmao I’m back guys. Got suspended for calling someone “dumb as rocks”.

I dunno man, that sounds super toxic to me. Rocks have feelings.

Edit: Idk, I don’t feel like getting suspended again.

But I guess some people feel it’s okay to tell users they shouldn’t be allowed to have children for their beliefs, but will get you suspended for saying they’re dumb. All good though, if I get suspended for pointing that out I’ll let you all know next week.

Oh, is that what was said? Perhaps since it is so fresh in your memory you should go back and read what it actually said.

Now I understand why these people want right click report.

With a detailed report, you’d have to be really petty.

Go to Help then click on ‘make a ticket’ then type out. “XXX said I was dumb and I feel personally attacked/ harassed by this player. I feel like that’s really toxic for the community and his account should be silenced.”

But with right click report, you don’t even need to justify it to yourself to get someones account actioned, you just have to disagree with them and look for something to report.

I mean arguably this person didn’t get me suspended, I did by choosing to call someone dumb and comparing them to an unremarkable mineral. But I definitely wouldn’t be reported with detailed reports. This is like calling 911 to report jaywalking. So does it really take a blizzard employee to action an account like they claim or is it really just 1 sensitive person? Because I’m fairly confident I could get most people in this thread suspended if I went through their posting history for more than a few minutes. And I know it would feel like I was the one that got them suspended, not that blizzard did it.

Well you clearly irritated more than 1 person with your comment because fear mongers not withstanding one person cannot squelch you

You guys gotta stop with the whole if you don’t agree with someone they are a fear monger. You’re doing that yourself lol.

If I lived my whole life afraid of a different opinion though, I guess I would think everyone was fear monger too.

well, welcome back! i thought maybe you had abandoned the topic due to its circular nature. its all talked out. we all know each other’s positions and are now just dancing the tango.

:rose::wink:

True, right click + tell mom is probably going to be in classic anyways. I’ll just play horde on a pvp server and I’m sure people will be able to speak a little more liberally and avoid some of the more ridiculous silences.

Is it funny though that they want loot trading in order to reduce tickets, but don’t think reporting people in chat should require a detailed report?

hehe

Not at all, if they don’t want to deal with tickets for loot which actually far more impactful, they definitely don’t want to deal with tickets just because some people want to troll chat.

Are you pretending to not comprehend?

Lol the same people claiming there’s no such thing as auto-mute and that every report gets reviewed come back to say blizzard won’t deal with any tickets from right click report when it’s compared to loot trading.

I was saying that if the reports do in fact get reviewed they will have many more “tickets” due to the easy of access with reporting.

Also btw every time I talked about auto-mute I assumed it wouldn’t get reviewed by anyone and the one time I entertain the idea that it will be reviewed, the type of person I’m debating with says blizz wont get a ticket lmao.

I give up, you can’t argue with someone who just wants to push an agenda regardless of what’s said.

Done posting in this thread. FYI 400+ responses and yet to see a valid reason to keep right click + report.

Yes, he is. Just don’t take the bait.

Except they only now have to look at issues where someone actually got squelched and decided to report it.

I’m sure they have some automated process and always did for the obvious racisms etc…

Oh and the reason to keep it is that it actually works.

Making a detailed report works too. Also I would like to demonstrate how effecting /ignore can be.

Seems like some people skimmed through this thread and missed some interesting discourse that was had. How do people feel about this compromise?

The auto-squelch has been in the game for nearly 12 years and a compromise such as this would probably be more likely to be adopted by Blizzard, than outright removing it.

Who is “they”?

Who made that claim?

What??? Where when did this even happen?

Gonna need a couple citations for what you claim happened earlier.

A disruption is a disruption, no matter if it is a goldseller or a player who cannot self regulate what they put into the public channels.

The auto-squelch feature has not been in the game for 12 years. You’re confusing it for right-click report. Much like players confusing “sharding” for “phasing”. So if you’re advocating for right-click report that specifically gives the option for spamming, which automatically ignores the player and sends their name to a GM, I’m okay with that. If you actually mean the auto-squelch feature, I’m not okay with that.

As an aside, I do think right-click report for spam did make a difference in the gold spamming. That’s when they started making level 1 characters and client-hacking them into dying in patterns that spelled out their website URL.
