i wonder if there’s a figure like kor’gall preventing the ogre clans from aiding the horde during the majority of the campaigns besides the stonemaul sending or’dac to the pandaria campaign, like some big influential character thats similar enough thats being the nay say to them aiding the horde as a whole
It’s hard for me to see there being an opportunistic corrupted Ogre getting into power again and preventing the Horde Ogre clans from prevailing. There haven’t really been signs of that lately, given that the MU Stonemaul Clan are “doing fine” and still helping out in Feralas.
It’s also hard for me to imagine the Horde wanting the Horde Ogre clans for something and then for whatever reason, not being able to utilize them. I assume they would investigate matters immediately if it kept happening, even if there could be legitimate or “legitimate” reasons.
As for each of the current Horde Ogre clans:
-The MU Stonemaul Clan by now would likely be wary enough to be extra careful, given their previous two leaders went into business for themselves. I don’t see Tharg being a corrupt leader, especially given his backstory, and I would be very disappointed to see him villain batted. And even if a younger Ogre became the leader, other than Crol’ka, the MU Stonemaul Clan would likely be keeping their eyes on them and ready to act if they decide to act out of self interest.
-We don’t know what the AU Stonemaul Clan is up to. If they join with the MU Stonemaul Clan, then the above text still remains as the MU Stonemaul Clan would be keeping an eye out for corruption. And if they were standing on their own, it’s hard for me to see any Ogre in that clan getting in some sort of power.
-The Dunemaul Clan is doing whatever Megs Dreadshredder wants with them. It’s possible the Horde doesn’t realize they sorta joined the Horde, so Megs is doing things for her own end. Even then, it’s hard for me to imagine her trying to worm her way into control over the other two Horde Ogre clans. And I assume if the Horde wanted the Dunemaul Clan for something, Megs would allow it. May as well earn some brownie points.
So as I said, it’s hard for me to imagine some corrupted individual preventing the Horde Ogre clans from being utilized much. And to be honest, I’d prefer to see Horde Ogre clans move on from corrupted leaders, since that would be fleshing their story out more as opposed to something that would be cliché and disappointing.
Not to mention that forming a Horde Ogre council would be one of the best ways of making sure nobody takes advantage of leadership positions over the Horde Ogre clans.

OOF. Seems the Boulderfists aren’t ready to join the Horde. Such a shame.
One of my favorite months for various reasons has arrived! But the scariest thing is that we still don’t have playable Horde Ogres! But you can help out by reading below!
With the beginning of each month, I make in-game suggestions for each race I want to see playable along with a mention of their respective megathreads on these forums. While it is far from a guarantee of seeing our dreams come true, I do think every little bit helps, and doing it monthly I feel is reasonable and not that intrusive or annoying.
If you’re interested in doing the same for races you want to see playable, I made a little guide on how to do so in-game here:
Here is hoping the Horde Ogre clans can celebrate Hallow’s End with other members of the Horde someday!

Not really a huge important finding, but there is an Ogre sighting in TWW, albeit an enemy Ogre.
In the Cinderbrew Meadery dungeon (I love Follower Dungeons by the way ), right at the beginning, there is a named Ogre mob that is not a boss of the dungeon:
There isn’t anything particularly special about him that I saw.
On a related note, there is a quest right at the beginning of the dungeon you can get that requires you to beat up the final boss of the dungeon:
One of the rewards you can choose is this cloak:
I of course chose the towel to get as a transmog option. Gotta collect what Ogre related items I can!
Makes me imagine an Ogre player with a chef transmog on with a cleaver or two. I imagine it would be fun to RP as them.

We’re getting pretty close to our megathread’s 4th anniversary!
I still think the current Ogre dance would work well for playable male Ogres. At this point, I feel it’s too iconic to be changed into something else. We just need a dance for female Ogres.
Still hoping to hold an Ogre dance party in Orgrimmar someday if we get playable Horde Ogres!

The Chris Farley dance. Not only that should not be changed, but it should be made even more similar to the original.
this will never happen, and i know the ONLY TRUE REASON and the ONLY ACTUAL PLAYERS who want this abomination in the game, and they’re all on MOON GUARD and want it for “THAT” reason
NO , never, blizzard, never allow this race for ANY REASON
You have issues.
I can only imagine what you think “That” reason is. Oy vey…
Leaving my support yet again.I know what it feels like to be a fan of a marginalized ingame race and I really hope you all can play them soon.
big guys need love too, plz don’t hate
Blizzard has officially announced the WoW anniversary event’s date, starting on October 22nd:
Aside from that one Ogre NPC, I haven’t seen much in the way of Ogre related stuff in this event. Still, I’ll be sure to take a look around when this event goes live.
Seeing as Ogres have been there since the beginning of Warcraft as a series, they deserve a chance to celebrate too!

Happy 4 year anniversary of our megathread!!
Unfortunately, I’m a bit busy today with various errands and not sure when I’ll be able to type up a celebration post. I may have to do it tomorrow when I can. Such are the frustrations with trying to be a responsible adult…sigh…
But regardless, I thank everyone for their support. We’re still going strong and not planning to stop any time soon!

I’m largely sharing this since Blizzard did make a point of including Or’Dac in the Pandaria Campaign. Here’s hoping that they include the Stonemaul more in the story, and reveal them as a new playable race.
a tiny ogre or giant ogre
Ogres, now!
