They look like Iksar, thusly I would love to have them.

Iksar were one of my favorite races in the Everquest games. I had a few of them I’d love to recreate as Saurok in WoW! :lizard:

If you mean horns on their noses, the Saurok models with frills kinda have one I think. I can’t recall seeing other models with variations on it, but I could be wrong.

Speaking of which, the Mogu used a lot of reptiles in order to make Saurok, so that would explain why you could see so many differences in the various Saurok models. It would also be great to explain all the customization options playable Saurok models would have.

As I said, lots of possibilities for customization options! :meat_on_bone::crocodile:

I returned. And he still hopes that the Horde can have sauroks as an allied race.
Preferably sooner than later.

Sauroks would give Shadowlands a better taste. :crocodile:

Welcome back!

I still don’t really expect playable races during Shadowlands, unless it’s a pre-order bonus for the next expansion, but seeing some requested races in general becoming playable would be a good sign in more ways than one. Of course, I’ll temper my expectations and at least hope whatever comes out of Shadowlands will be better and more enjoyable in general.

In the meantime, I’ll still continue marching in support of playable Horde Saurok. I’ll keep doing it so long as I keep playing the game, and playable Ogres and Saurok would likely get me to keep playing for a long time.

We’ll see what happens in the future, but I still keep hope for now. :meat_on_bone::crocodile:

I found a couple of videos I wanted to share for this post.

First a short one that shows off different angles of the rhino iguana that was really cool:

You can kinda see the horns a bit better in this one. :rhinoceros:

The other one I wanted to share, which was uploaded in 2016, was a fan-made trailer for what I think was over a MoP patch. Saurok are antagonists here, but it’s still cool to see them in a trailer style of some kind. :lizard:

If I had the skill, I’d love to make a mock-up trailer of Horde Saurok taking on the Alliance or something. I actually had a fun idea for a trailer that would introduce playable Horde Saurok, though it’s a bit hard to showcase that idea through just text.

I have a lot of ideas, but sadly lack talent in a lot of those areas to make them happen. Least I still have some ways to implement ideas I have to support playable Horde Saurok! :meat_on_bone::crocodile:

Some days, you just need to relax and take it easy.

Others, you have to jump into the thick of it to get stuff done.

Either way, hard work and dedication can pay off in the long run!

Always remember: A full Saurok is a happy Saurok! :meat_on_bone::crocodile:

It is always good to remember that sauroks are a very versatile breed.
Sauroks are effective in actions on the ground as well as in bodies of water.

Sauroks are like seals. AHAHAHAHA
They would help the Horde to have maritime superiority and the good innate savagery that the horde loves.

Conbine them with Kelfin and the Horde would be so strong on coasts and rivers and at sea.

The Kelfin and Saurok would make a great team in underwater areas. If Saurok could breathe underwater, they’d likely be a pretty good member of the Unshackled, since they were former slave soldiers who broke free of Mogu shackles in a sense.

Not to mention that they would likely be very happy to exchange food recipes and trade ingredients for different meat and fish dishes to try out! Saurok can try out deep sea cuisines and the Unshackled and try out various dishes from above the water. :meat_on_bone::crocodile:

I like this idea. It makes me happy.

The idea of seeing a race like the Saurok open up to others and become part of something that treats them better than the world in general has makes for a really happy thought. It’s one of the reasons I feel that the Horde really fits them, as I can see them getting along with other members very well. Not to mention that the Horde could learn a thing or two from working with a particularly friendly tribe in a storyline of sorts when it comes to judging what were once perceived as primitive races.

They can still retain a savage personality, of course. I mean, some Orcs you get quests from bark at you and seem like loose cannons, so it wouldn’t be too out of place to see Saurok go RAWR in a reasonable manner, in my opinion. Not insubordinate or angry all the time, but more like a subtle flavor to personality. I mean, we see them hanging out with other races in different places, so it wouldn’t be too out of the question to see them as beings that would be cool to hang out with.

It seems like it has a lot of world-building opportunities to see some Saurok open up and make friends with other races. Becoming part of something big like the Horde just seems like the rainbow at the end of the storm that was having to deal with the Mogu. Really fitting in the grand scheme of things, in my opinion. :meat_on_bone::crocodile:

In Kultiras we see several of them working with pirate crews that have humans, quilboars, vulpes, gnolls, trolls, among others.
Sauroks know how to cooperate when it is in their interest.
They are no more uncivilized than wolvars or furbolgs.

Wild? Yes a lot. Unsociable? Do not.
There is even a huge saurok doing “/flex” for a group of female pirates.

They just aren’t playable, because Blizzard didn’t write anything that would allow them to be a playable race at Blizzard.

In Horde, of course.

The thing is that if Blizzard wants a particular race to become playable, they’ll write and do what is needed to make them fit. We’ve seen them do cool things with NPC races like the Gilblins by making the Kelfin, and they’d make a great playable race. So it isn’t out of the question for something being done like that for Saurok.

Not to mention that Saruok have a lot going for them that could fit well as a playable race and come with some pretty neat storylines. With just a bit of creativity, it’s something that is definitely possible, in my opinion! :meat_on_bone::crocodile:

I think Sauroks should be an Alliance race. Because reasons. Who’s with me?

Nope, I support Saurok for the Horde.

I respectfully disagree that Saurok should be an Alliance race. I will admit that I am more of a Horde player, but I did analyze both factions in order to come up with reasoning why I feel Saurok are more of a Horde race.

On the main post, I typed up a section to explain my reasoning, as well as linking to the following post to go a bit more in depth:

It boils down to a few main reasons if you want an abridged version:

First, Saurok are a Shamanistic tribal race. This fits the Horde’s theme more than the Alliance.

Second, they would likely be viewed as savage beasts by the Alliance and not be welcomed or treated at all. To make Saurok fit on the Alliance would likely mean changing what makes Saurok…well, Saurok.

Third, they would fit and likely get along better with members of the Horde. I don’t see them connecting with any of the Alliance Shaman races, let alone any of the Alliance races in general. Wildhammers are the closest, but even that is a bit of a stretch.

Fourth, they were a former slave race that went through similar events that the Orcs went through when they became free (with a few parallels between them). The theme just fits the Horde much better.

I could go on, but those are the more important points.

Now, could something be written to make Alliance Saurok make sense and work? Possibly, but I still strongly feel that they would fit the Horde much better than they ever could with the Alliance. It just makes the most sense to me.

All in my personal opinion, of course. :meat_on_bone::crocodile:

I really don’t feel that. I think they should be Horde. They feel very right for it.

As much as I’d love to see more savage races like the saurok and saberon on the alliance, it won’t happen. They’d make more sense for the Horde I think, and this is coming from the guy who plays Alliance, and wants those two races more than anything. Then again I find myself disliking my own faction most of the time My main reason, is because the Alliance, especially with the current man in charge Tury, leans more towards noble or “good” races, they won’t take monsters. Even the worgen, they had to fight tooth and claw to make a place in the alliance.

Sorry if messages aren’t as friendly as usual, mind is running all over the place atm.
