I would love Naga playable first. Been waiting for that for a very, very, very long time.
Blizzard, hire this man!
While I don’t want Naga first myself I do like the idea of playable Naga.
Also jinyu… The Alliance would be enhanced with them I think. (and Furbolg)
Jinyu, for Alliance, could work well with the gilgoblins (Unshackled) for the Horde.
August’s Trading Post items have been officially announced:
The reward for doing enough of the Traveler’s Log tasks is a Blood Troll transmog set:
Quite a number of neat items for August. Nothing really Saurok related, which I wasn’t expecting of course. I think that Blood Troll set could look good on Saurok, though.
I’ll be keeping an eye on each month’s Trading Post items in case something Saurok related appears. Low chances of that happening, of course, but you never know!

This lizard just found out it’s a new month and is off to send some in-game suggestions for new playable races it wants to see. Sounds like a good time for us to do so as well!
With the beginning of each month, I make in-game suggestions for each race I want to see playable along with a mention of their respective megathreads on these forums. While it is far from a guarantee of seeing our dreams come true, I do think every little bit helps, and doing it monthly I feel is reasonable and not that intrusive or annoying.
If you’re interested in doing the same for races you want to see playable, I made a little guide on how to do so in-game here:
Every little bit helps! Gotta keep up the support for playable Horde Saurok as best as we can!

I came across artwork of a female Argonian (Elder Scrolls) on DeviantArt I wanted to share. It was created by Mad1984 and was uploaded to the website on November 19th, 2018.

In my artwork searches, one of the things I keep an eye on is female Lizardmen. It’s one of the important things to share, since female Saurok would be a thing and would need careful designing. We have artwork of female Saurok from Hearthstone, but I imagine in WoW, female Saurok would possibly have differences design-wise. Thus sharing examples would help with inspiration in that regard.
As usual, I’ll keep an eye out for Lizardmen related artwork to share for playable Saurok idea inspiration!

Gonna post this in both my megathreads since it’s kinda related to both and I realize I’m a bit late on actually hearing about this news.
Looks like all of Blizzcon this year will be streamed live for free:
Which is pretty good, since I prefer watching stuff from the comforts of my own home. Not to mention the time and cost of getting to and back to there, let alone attending the event itself. Not really sure what all I’d even do there if I attended to be honest.
We still have a bit of time before it starts on November 3rd, though I do feel like a new WoW expansion announcement could happen. Moreso since FFXIV announced their new expansion recently, which comes out mid 2024 if I understand it correctly. Of course, we still have Dragonflight stuff to go through, so who knows?
We’ll see what happens when it happens, I guess. I’ll likely go over covering plans again and more speculation as we get closer. Keeping an open mind for whatever gets announced of course, but I’ll always keep my fingers crossed for anything leading to playable Horde Saurok.
87 days from this post until Blizzcon (Nov 3rd)!

Came across a couple of Seraphon (Warhammer) model painting videos that I wanted to link as the models in the videos are pretty awesome and great for playable Saurok idea inspiration. Videos are below:
As mentioned before, Saurok in general had some inspiration from the Seraphon when they were first created in MoP, so it’s a great thing to link examples from. Several of the models look great and would make for some Saurok features, like armor and mounts (with Saurok themes applied of course).
Still wanting to someday have an army of Seraphon someday…and hopefully an army of Horde Saurok alts also if we’re ever lucky enough to see them playable!

Got another Argonian (Elder Scrolls) art piece from DeviantArt to share! This one is by VictoriaDAEDRA and was uploaded to the website on Feb. 17th, 2012.

I wanted to share this art piece because it focuses on the head. Playable Saurok would likely have a lot of horn, fin, and spike customization options, especially if based on several IRL reptiles, so finding examples like above helps for inspiring ideas for that.
As usual, I’ll keep an eye out for art pieces to share for playable Horde Saurok idea inspiration!

It has been awhile since I linked any IRL food recipes in here. I came across a video that shows how to make “Korean Honey Butter Fried Chicken,” and I thought about how Saurok might be inclined to make Pandarian based food, seeing as they originated and many reside or had resided on Pandaria. Figured this dish would be fitting for them.
If you’re interested, this video has instructions in two different languages, including English and I think German, throughout the video. An ingredients list is in the video’s description on the actual YouTube page for it.
Edit: Playback on other sites is disabled for this video, so click the link that pops up in it that says “Watch on YouTube” when you click play to take you to the YouTube page to see it! Video is below:
A meal I’m sure Saurok would love.
Maybe if Saurok become more of a presence in-game, we could see a Saurok chef. Maybe they could be a rival to Chef Nomi in cooking competitions. Some possibilities there if Saurok were to get into cooking to spice up their meals.

Another Lizardman artwork from DeviantArt to share that looks really Saurok-like! This one was created by gkatsurart and was uploaded to the website on August 23rd, 2020.

I could definitely see some of the horns and spikes as Saurok customization options. They could get hidden by helm graphics, but they still would look good for Saurok without helm graphics on. The scale colors would also make for a good customization option as well.
I’ll continue to keep an eye out for any Lizardmen related material to share for playable Saurok idea inspiration!

I was given a link to an independent project of an animated series involving a tribe of Lizardmen called “Sauria.” They have a short film, roughly 8 minutes, of it, and it’s pretty awesome. I figured I would link a playlist that has that and some making of and lore videos, since I usually like to share things for playable Horde Saurok idea inspiration.
However, I want to warn ahead of time that there is a bit of violence and some blood in the videos of the following playlist link. Stuff you might see in Warcraft in general, though it could still be a bit much for some people to watch. So I will suggest the usual “viewer discretion is advised ” warning for the videos in the link below.
Link to the playlist on Youtube is here
It sounds like this is going to become an animated series, which it looks pretty awesome. I can even get some Saurok vibes out of it, or at least things that would work well with Saurok being fleshed out.
I’ll continue to keep an eye out for more Lizardmen related things to share for playable Horde Saurok idea inspiration!

While looking over some of the text I had for a revamped class section of the megathread, I realized that I forgot to mention the Shaman spirit form and what Saurok would have for that.
In thinking of the Shaman Spirit form and the Druid ground travel forms for Saurok, I researched some of the fastest reptiles in the world (of Real life!). And by research, I meant that I took a few seconds to type a thing on Google and look at some results. This website listed the top 10 fastest reptiles:
The perentie and bearded dragon appear to be some of the fastest reptiles around. If you’re wondering what a perentie is, it is this:
I’ll likely go into more detail on them in a future post.
Seems like it could work for Saurok Shaman spirit forms and Druid ground travel forms. Of course, the easiest thing to do for both could be just a Saurolisk. It depends on how different the two forms should be, while keeping that savage RAWR look of course.
If anyone has suggestions for Saurok Shaman spirit forms, please share! I’ll likely be working on the class section as the first part of the megathread’s revamp, so trying to mention each class specific feature and how to make it Saurok-like is important, seeing as it seems like all playable races will eventually be able to be almost all classes.

i want to play the saurok but i want them to be cuter
So it was recently datamined that there would be bonus Tenders for the Trading Post for the different tiers of ordering the next expansion, which has lead to speculation that we may see a new expansion announcement at Blizzcon later this year:
Honestly, given that FFXIV announced their new expansion recently and that this year’s Blizzcon is the first in-person event after quite some time, I figure that it would be a good time to announce the next expansion.
We likely still have a decent amount of time with Dragonflight still, at least one more big patch with smaller ones. I could see the next expansion coming later in 2024. It does feel a bit of a weird time in that it feels like Dragonflight has some life left in it still while it also feels like it’s time for a new expansion.
As for what the next expansion could be, I honestly don’t know what to think. Rumors seem all over the place, from old world (of Warcraft!) revamps, Light vs Void, Vrykul related things, to recently pirates and the high seas. Not to mention all the “leaks” getting thrown over the place, which I remember what Shadowlands went through with that before we saw what we actually got for worse or…well, worse when it comes to Shadowlands. So keeping an open mind seems to be the best course of action to me.
I will be honest in saying that if we got Ogres and Saurok as playable Horde races, I would be really tempted to buy the epic digital and physical collector’s editions of the expansion. Moreso if it had Ogre and Saurok related goodies in them to go with that feature. A Saurok and Ogre figure or statue would be mighty tempting, to be honest…
As for the tenders coming with the next expansion, I’m all for it. When it comes to stuff I was planning to buy anyway, every little bit is helpful to store away and use for stuff on the Trading Post.
What I mostly hope for the next expansion is that we don’t get another Shadowlands, which I don’t know if I could handle another expansion of that calibur. I also hope that we see some new playable races that people have been requesting, with my usual most wanted races of course. Would be nice to see some race request megathreads get their wishes granted.
Though come to think of it, I think the last race request megathreads that got to celebrate were the Vulpera and MechaGnome megathreads. Technically the Dark Ranger megathread did, though I feel like that was more of a monkey’s paw wish than anything, given how Customization Races get treated. Still, would be nice to see people’s dreams come true.
Guess we’ll see what actually happens next expansion when it happens.
