What do you suggest that limit be? I, nor anyone that I’ve played with in a long time, are too invested with vendor gold earnings.
can not sell my staff
telll me you do not even play this game without telling me you do not even play this game… -_-
If there is a limit it needs to be large enough to not affect any normal players.
We are talking a few thousand gold most likely.
you don’t need to ban kitchen knifes because some people stab people with it, Just eliminate anyone who comment murder.
so instead of limiting the gold you obtain from vendor’ing ! Just hire active GM and instantly ban any 3rd party software bots/hacks.
doesnt take much to acquire greys. Go skin in sholazar for an hour and you’ll have several stacks of greys and other oddities, more than 25g worth.
Its always better to KO’s the humans than to deal with bots though. Those pesky humans shouldnt be playing wow, it should be 100% bots selling 25g worth of junk a day.
A 25g cap is way too low. A reasonable cap would be like 2-3k and should cover 99+% of normal players.
or blizzard could just start banning the bots faster
If you’re still using Journey’s End, explain to us all you play this game.
Because selling your staff is how you plan on making gold for the expansion?
2-3k a day? Are you a bot?
Are you farming grey items to sell to the vendors? Is that your main source of income?
Unfortunately while that is the best solution its one that won’t happen with Activision.
It has a better chance of happening than this idea though.
It’s better to live with the bots than to restrict and inconvenience regular players. But even if bots disappeared people with unlimited money irl will just continue to buy as many tokens as they want.
This is a horrible idea.
I could reach 25g in 15 minutes easily and i don’t even focus on farming gold.
Just doing 1 dungeon and getting a few gray weapons can lead to passing that amount.
A better idea would be for blizzard to use raw gold generation from vendors as a way to flag then monitor accounts for botting/gold selling.
Example, if you make 5k gold in a week from vendors, that should flag you for review (no punishment yet, but to be reviewed). Very few actual players generate that much gold from vendor selling items a week, and it only flags you for review, not an actual punishment.
This would make all those bots farming dungeons endlessly get flagged and reviewed faster but blizzard needs to do the ban waves weekly, not every few months.
Its not hard to get 2-3k a day if you are actively farming gold throughout the day. Most players dont farm that much, but its more than doable.
God I wish it did.
Never said it’s impossible. But how many players are farming items specifically to sell to a vendor?
I can crap my pants to avoid going to the bathroom but I would never say that’s the most efficient use of my time, would you?
So what gold value would you think is a reasonable limit per day?
u r not wrong. botting is big issue. many gold farm bot operations r making many real life money with vendor items for raw gold to sell to gold buyers.
take a look at dis guild asking for da gold cap to be raised. their gdkp leader stating they do not care if their customers real money transaction for da gold spent in their gdkp.
Gold cap too low . plus da same guild asking for nerfs Nerf Ulduar .
a guild officer dat also sells gold on a discord while also running a gdkp discord. note da ranks n color of their name in da discords.

haha. here is a photo of a guilds guild master telling buyers in da gold selling discord how to get priority spots in da gdkp discord. note da ranks n color of their name in da discord. green is gdkp leader.

screenshot of dat same guilds gdkp discord promoting da same gold selling discord. haha. note da ranks n color of their name in da discord. yellow is leader.

dis one gold farming operation had 45,000,000 gold sold in tbc classic with da price of 12 usd dollars per 1000 gold. imagine how much has been sold in wotlk.
540,000 usd real life money earned through one gdkp selling gold to people. no one can say dis does not ruin da spirit of classic n promote pay to win culture. too much gold in da game from bots.
think about all da other gold farming operations on da classic servers. dis is just one example. now u have wow token blizzard gold farming operation.
dis is a lot of real life money being earned.
haha. so funny.
Its usually a byproduct of farming for aomething else.
As an example farming runecloth in diremaul can result in a lot of trash to vendor (and some higher value items) and if you do that efficently for a few hours you can end up with a good amount of vendor gold items, even more so if you are farming something like HoL.
I dont think there should be a limit. But i do think it can be used to flag accounts for review.
