Stopping Bots with Vendor Gold Caps

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA

I actually don’t hate the idea, but you’re too lost in the broke sauce if you think 25g is a good limit.

This could be fixed. Not gonna be liked, though.

Scaling. Ilevel squish.

Scaling makes open world harder. In SL…BFA scaled to 70/71 like SL. Farming was a pita even for just rep. also the whole +11 rule part of that would have tbcc raid not runnable easily. +11 levels to old content makes it much easier to run. also, not universal. for reasons, in SL legion mythic did not follow this rule.

But this is also the retail feature purist whine eternally about. I never get stronger! True…but the bots aren’t pulling 10 mobs and popping 1 aoe to kill them as well.

Ilevel squish with a dash of gear deprecation. bonuses gone, stats trash. Say hi to new expac. also say hi to old expac like half the ilevel of prior for even highest raid tier gear and is now mog find only really.

this is how retail controls vendor price. this is why players no longer farm legacy raid beyond legit mog/mount interests really. It works. NGL…I farmed the hell out of WoD in BFA for raw gold. this change came in the SL pre-load code. WoD was no longer farmed for raw gold.

I understand, my push back is entirely based on: “at what point does fighting the unwinnable war against bots become more detrimental to the players than it is for the bots?”

This is the issue as this is how some normal players like me make money.

I don’t play the AH. Its not my thing. I did that in eve for years. I was making billions but to keep that up, I was not actually doing fun things in game. I don’t hover around AH all night. I did that crap in eve’s jita 4-4 for years. I retired from that lol.

I lack good raid skills and the desire to get them. I come to pvp. Not play dance dance revolution with a touch of the modern rhythm game genre. so gdkp is out the window. also gdkp is also evil it seems lol.

that leaves find easy stuff to kill, get paid. Edit: an issue retail and classic have in common. IF they want more in current content…it should pay better.

I don’t remember the last time I vendored grey’s intentionally to make a proft-I usually just drop the junk while flying.

It’s funny how the same people saying they make their gold from dailies are now diving in to defend…vendoring grey items.

The same people that defend GDKP’s as a legitimate source of income.

This is actually a great idea. Like, it’s grey’s boys. Greens/Blues/Purples still go on the AH.

A limit of 25g? The trophies from ToGC alone vendor for 50g each lmao

Ya I don’t make my gold from selling items to the vendors.

Limit is absolutely debatable.

I don’t make my gold from vendoring items, so the limit is 100% up for discussion. I don’t know what a good number would be.

I am leveling my warlock today, getting to 80.

I have made about 1000g selling quest reward soulbounds to vendor today.

Not like I said leveling is the grey area or anything, amiright?

Leveling is not a side piece, it has to be part of the equation. If it torpedoes the idea it’s not a good idea.

What if quest just rewarded more gold and had quest rewards sell for far less?

Since this is all theoretical you can imagine any scenario.

Leveling craftings in TBCC and wrath would peg this fast too. I’d be looking at say LW/smithing

Selling on the AH? yeah…that assumes this game has 1000’s of levelers, on your server to buy those items. you need level 71’s leveling…to buy crafted greens lol.

In before a benediction player says we are loaded here. I’d hope so at 30K wcl log submissions. So being real nice…I will give an extra 10K not using wcl. So 40K.

Time to post 40 items, cost to put auction up. and worst case you are making little over vendor if prices wars happen or this stuff just rots. Vendor is quick and easy in this case.

This is why craftings for leveling go to vendor for me frequently. lots of work, no real massive payday for the effort.

In the case of wrath LW leather…when/not if I firesale to get back most of mats costs like thread back its probably gonna be an enchanter who flips this as mats to some overpriced fotm enchant lol. They can farm their own greens lol

Or you can DE all those items. I know I do.

While that could work, something like that needs to be built from the ground up.

Maybe when they release classic fresh again, I don’t think it’s something that can/should be introduced at this point in the game.

This thread is just to garnish discussion around ways to prevent bots. Do I think Blizzard would actually do something about them in WotLK or a WoW 2.0? No. But it’s still a good exercise to try and find ways to combat something a lot of us consider a plague on the game.

Maybe other developers will read this or other ideas people spit ball. They’re not all horrible at their core value.

The solution is to hire actual people to be in game gms and not rely on their outdated warden to detect them and ban them a month later.

But that requires work which is unreasonable to ask most companies.

Would I pay a premium price to a game knowing there are active GMs? 1,000%

would need to be a whole hell of a lot more than 25g porcelain bell alone vendors for 100g and togc trophies vendor for 50 and many many 2h weapons vendor in the area of 25
