Stop Punishing Players Who Have Dual Roles

All I needed for Legion was trinkets and legos, and I easily could switch from balance to guardian. I didn’t have to analyze and balance head shoulders and chest pieces. It was easy and quick.

You had secondaries to concern yourself with if you wanted to be any good. So you had more than trinkets and legendaries. Not to mention different weapons to level up if you wanted to be any good. So wrong. It wasn’t easy and quick.

Way to discredit your opinion even more. Seeing as how logic would tell you to look at this character’s level and realize it’s an alt. I main a druid on two servers and a priest and pally on a third. Been maining a druid for over a decade.

I’m done with you, because your snark is meaningless in this conversation.

From snark to insults in seconds with no actual argument in this conversation. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Ok, you win.

There are many iterations of what the game “used to be”. It “used to be” that you were penalized for trying to have multiple roles, and then it wasn’t.

Also, players aren’t currently penalized for having multiple roles. If a player has 1 role, they do the work for that one role. Another player is trying to play two roles- WHY are we suggesting they have the same amount of work as the player with 1 role? It’s simple math.

I woudn’t waste your time - I think he’s trolling hardcore.

As someone who is currently playing through Legion content and is hitting BFA for the very first time (Boosted a rogue to 110 and did the introduction stuff) I must say I really wish the Artifact system could continue for a while. I enjoyed it while it lasted.

However I will say this. For me personally, I would rather not have any new amazing systems at all, if they are just going to be scrapped shortly after for the next new amazing system. I say we go back to gear being just gear and we enhance it with enchants and gems like in BC.

That’s just me though, I really can’t comment on the Azerite system yet, but I’m afraid to get attached to it if it’s going to just go away next expansion. What do ya’ll think?

What really would help is for our gear setup to have an actual spec slot available outside of the inventory bags. That way those players who want separate sets of gear based upon different specs, can actually have them organized in such a way they can quickly swap without having to sort through their bags.

I realize some addons have a setup like this available, but many folks just use the basic Bliz UI setup which really doesn’t accommodate this well. I’ve tried to do this on my characters who I like swapping between specs that have different stat requirements but its a nightmare to make it an easy and quick swap. I do not use any special addons, just the basics.

And this is why i gave up raiding back in the day having to reforge or respec everytime they make a change having to go to a website every patch or hot fix to see if I am min maxing right.
Now I am just a casual and usually leave my gear as is.
What I had hoped Azerite gear would be like was you could set up each piece for your intended spec and as you changed spec the traits changed with you negating the need to horde gear etc.

Well they could just make it less punishing, but clearly they wanted to encourage boosts and gold purchases so here we are.

Before you could test things yourself by changing out gear at a dummy or through instances. now with Azerite doing that will cost a fortune so you are relying on sims to get the ideal set of traits.

the sooner Azerite gear is removed from the game the better off the game will be. It was a bad system and that was called out as bad in the beta and if the beta would have been a real length of time it might have been saved

Wasn’t eliminating the need to sim everything supposed to be a goal of this expansion?

I’m not trying to be snarky here, but have you considered not doing all that? It seems like it’s causing you a lot of aggravation after all.

At end of the night, as long as a groupg hits the dps floor for the boss and manage the mechanics, they will win.

And at this point, there are no more slots in the top 100, so there is no rush either.

Now, I get some people want to be the best, but that has always taken a lot of work and effort, regardless if it’s WoW, fishing or dressmaking. If that’s someone’s overall goal, gruelling work and effort is just the price that must be paid.

The only super big problem I have with reforging is the fact that the price doesn’t seem to have a cap. I paid for a 20k reforge one night for raid to swap something that we needed because I started the night off tanking then went boomy, then resto. Why doesn’t it have a lower cap around like 5k so that it’s punishing but not insane.

The question still stands: what benefit does charging people have in the first place?

Blizzard needs to stop responding to the most idiotic posts… it’s like responding to a crying baby that wants more breastmilk when the child is already full.

Then maybe they should stop taking most of them away. Doing their way only isnt exactly impactful - its forced.

because Blizz does not care its that simple

What do you think of the analogy?

Yes, and that choice is blocked by azerite armor.

LOL no.

Did you know gear didn’t always used to have both strength and intellect on it for plate armor? Do you know what we had to do back then? Have seperate pieces of gear for each spec As a paladin I have ALWAYS had to carry separate sets for each spec. This is not punishment. There are no choices blocked. This is the way it has always been.

I see you are a hunter. I too have a hunter. Even on my hunter different specs preferred different stats. Sure I could switch and use the same pieces for both, but it wouldn’t be optimal. That is the same as it is now!

All of this whining over something that has always been part of the game is ridiculous.

It not whining - it’s asking for the reasons/benefits/and value that this mentality offers the game.

It’s been worse in the past - sure. But why was it a good thing for the game?
