Standard of the Guardian disappeared?

So the Medivh-inspired pack, the one that had Standard of the Guardian - I bought it pretty much the moment I saw it on the launcher, as the staff is really cool and I didn’t want to wait months just to obtain it for a character who it was perfect for.

I’ve been using and transmogging it fine all this time since, but all of a sudden when I attempted to replace my staff with one I got from leveling (in Thaldrazsus, DF), it no longer is showing in my mog collection - meaning I can no longer transmog it.

The hood and cloak are still in my collection. I’ve tried re-summoning my yak, reloading, relogging, everything. I’ve checked my log on other characters.

The staff, that I paid money for, is gone! What the heck, Blizzard? :dracthyr_cry_animated: And why is it just the staff, but the hood and cloak remain? What kind of a weird bug is this?

Please fix this soon??? I literally cannot change my staff at this point, if I want to keep using the Standard’s appearance. It’s still on my old staff, but I cannot use it anymore on a new one, and I do not understand how something just… disappears out of the collection like this.

I can still see the license for the item, so it is still on your account. I’m not sure why you cannot see it in your collection though. At this point I would probably consider that a bug and encourage you to report it in the Bug Report forums.

I haven’t seen any other reports about it so far, but I’ll pass it along too.

I can’t log in right now but when I’m able to I’ll check my appearances to see if it’s still there as well!

If the OP makes a bug report and there are issues, I’ll post it in their bug report thread.

Appreciate it, Fuzz. Thanks! Please let me know as well.

Will do. I get off work in about 20 minutes so I can check then.

I’ve submitted a bug report in-game as best I could (we really need more characters to actually submit bugs with, tbh).

I found Trading Post Items Dissapeared as well, and the bug detailed in here with regards to some Trading Post items completely disappearing out of Collections sounds very similar. I don’t know if they’re correlated, given the Guardian items are not yet on the Trading Post, but are planned to be… but yeah.

If it isn’t related, though, or no one else posts about it, I’ll submit a formal bug report on the forum.

I’d appreciate if you could! This seems like such a weird bug to be hit with - especially so when the Cloak and Hood items didn’t disappear. I still see them in my Collections.

It’s just the Standard - which happens to be the only part I really use, and had actively transmogged at the time.

Have you tried resetting the UI? https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/300544#:~:text=Open%20the%20World%20of%20Warcraft®%20folder.&text=Rename%20the%20Cache%2C%20Interface%2C%20and,the%20changes%20can%20take%20effect.

Also, bug reports are best done like:

I have and tried to transmog it on and it’s not showing up.

Precise details make things easier for QA to test. :> just my 2c!

No, and I’m not really sure it would help, given that it’s one item that’s bugged - not all of them. I’m not going to go through an entire song and dance disabling Addons for the sake of one item not displaying properly all of a sudden. Considering the bug with some Trading Post items sounding quite similar if not the same to what I’m dealing with, this sounds like a problem on Blizzard’s end, not mine or anyone else’s.

Precise details is exactly why we need a higher character limit for the in-game bug report. Attempting to provide the things it asked for + further details, ends up being too long for the very small limitation imposed on the report.

Saying “I’ve tried and tried to transmog it on and it’s not showing up” doesn’t give any details about when, where, why, what I may have done that caused it, etc. It just tells them that a problem happened. No particulars.

I’d be quite lost if I was QA getting in something like that, tbh.

That said, if Fuzz is also missing it when they get on - or aren’t - I’ll submit a proper bug report on the forums, where there is no character limitation, to go along with the one I gave in-game.

Technically speaking, an issue with the UI/Addons can cause only one item to not be available, or it could cause several, just as it can cause an issue with only a single character and not all of them.

However, in this case, I don’t believe it is a UI issue. I checked a character on the account myself and couldn’t see it. If I’m experiencing the same issue during that, it usually means it isn’t the UI/Addons.

A UI reset can sometimes fix many things, even if it can’t in this situation as Vrak mentioned. So can deleting your cache folder. It’s why we tell people to try it. They’re troubleshooting steps before we dig deeper to make sure.

A UI reset is quick and easy if you ever do need to try one in the future for anything else. Very quick, easily changed. Check out the instructions. I’ve done it before a few times for various other issues. It’s not as painful as people think. :slightly_smiling_face:

Before performing these steps, please temporarily uninstall any addon management software you are using. Addon managers will re-sync the data cleared by these steps.

This is what keeps me from doing it. I run a lot of addons and two different addon managers. A UI reset is a last resort for me, as there is way too much stuff involved in the addons I use - not to mention their own data - to just easily toss it out.

I’ve read the instructions before when getting a strange World Server Down bug despite my primary server having been up at the time. I relaunched the game before doing that, and the bug fixed itself. UI resets are not really something I like to or want to do unless it’s the only thing I haven’t tried yet.

And as Vrak thankfully let me know, it’s an issue on Blizzard’s end, not mine. So I’m not going to be doing a last resort option when it isn’t even on my end. My day’s already kind of crummy enough considering an item I paid money for is suddenly unusable for no explicable reason - the stress from a UI reset is not something I want to add on top of it. :dracthyr_cry_animated:

I appreciate the attempts to help, but-- yeah. Not something that is super easy to do for me, unfortunately.

I use the WA app and the Curseforge app. If they aren’t running in the background, you don’t need to uninstall the apps. They also don’t uninstall your addons.

I was just giving you info for any future issues. That’s why I addressed what Vrak had said.

This is information that would be more helpful to know ahead of time! The way it’s worded on the instructions, it makes it sound like having the apps installed whatsoever will mess the process up. I will remember this for the future, thank you for easing that concern.

Realistically though, I’d just like this issue fixed sooner than a month out, tbh. Hopefully Vrak passing it on will help get it + the missing trading post items issue sorted quickly, as it sucks to not be able to use items that are present on our accounts but apparently simply… hidden??

Especially when they were paid items! :dracthyr_crylaugh:

I am also experiencing the same issue. I can’t see the transmog of the staff in my collection, but I can see the hood and cloak (the latter ones appear in my collection, but it could be because they are transmogrified on one of my characters).

I totally forgot!

I checked my appearance thing. The helmet and cloak are there but the staff is missing.

That is different from my end, then, where my staff was the only thing I actually had actively transmogged. The cloak and hood weren’t, so I assumed that they still showed up because they weren’t - but if it’s the opposite for you, then that means it’s specifically the staff having problems!

Well, at least that’s been figured out. Now hopefully they can figure out why it’s specifically the staff, and fix it. :dracthyr_cry_animated:

Also no worries on forgetting, Fuzz. Work and life happen.

Ah yes, I have helment and Cloak and I have staff model on my last staff as I try to replace my staff for strong stat one, and tranmog it model is gone.

Did some thing hapepn?

I’ve got the same problem. The two feathered mogs are intact, but the staff mog is missing. Everything previously was available when I first purchased the mog set the other day.

Submitted a bug report.
