It’s a total mess.
Are there evil members of the Horder? Absolutely, and they need to be dealt with. But carte blanche painting the entirety of the horde as evil doesn’t do anything.

Which is the dissonance I was referring to.
Just because they write it one way doesn’t mean it makes sense. Trying to pretend Sylvanas is the only problem doesn’t resonate well with how the Horde have been portrayed as an organization.
I’m not disagreeing with you in your statement. The writing does seem to be pushing it all on Sylvanas. And my stance is that that’s terrible writing and only perpetuates the problems that the Horde faces internally.
rubs temples
If they try to pull a Lelouch I swear to the gods above and below…
Then try to respond to Shotho more seriously.
I am interested in hearing what you have to say.
Because this is not the first time the Horde is wiping out an alliance population center and walking away with barely any consequence. Its very frustrating.
How many times are we going to pretend the Horde has honor as they repeatedly commit war crimes?
What do you want us to do? We’re not the writers.
I’m thinking’ Arbys
Yeah, it’s not true that “only Sylvanas is the problem” or “all individuals in the Horde are at fault”, but putting it on Sylvanas is easier to write than dealing with something in between those two extremes. I don’t think they could do it, as the player is one of the involved Horde (unless their “Champion of Azeroth” status gives them a pass)
it a freaking mess for sure…
if the game developers know how to resolve this…
the ‘choice’ that the Horde had should be a clear indication of who support the atrocities and those who don’t…
which can be used as a guide to ‘punish’ those who are supportive of the atrocities…hence as what i mention…gated by WQs for those guilty horde…
Just recognize the fact that the Horde is evil and move on.
If at least the player disregards Blizzards stupidity then at least we are united.
The fact that you support Blizzard in their writing like this is what enables them to keep doing this.
Which is total bunk, there’s no effective or accurate way to implement that, and forcing people to do that will kill the game.
They shoulda never given a choice to support Sylvanas in the Saurfang quest line imo tbh
No, because we’re not all Evil.
And that accomplishes what exactly?
I don’t.
No I’m pretty sure it’s all of us still playing the game that enables that.
Actually thinking on this more, you do realize the response to this is okay then I’m Evil, die Alliance.
Of course you do, cause that’s what you want. You don’t care all about Teldrassil, you just want an excuse to demonize the other faction and whatever you want to them and forever be justified in it.
If this was Horde’s first time then I would agree but after so many times… yeah. No…
Honestly this Horde is worse than the first Horde. At least they had the demon blood excuse.
Hasn’t Blizzard stated that the Horde isnt evil? Just M O R A L L Y G R E Y. Have they come out recently and straight up stated “The Horde is now the evil faction”.
If anyone has a quote of that, I’d like to see it. Otherwise I feel like it’s all headcanon until then.
Horde is surely being written as evil in BfA, no matter if the devs deny it. The question is, should they be written that way going forward? Apparently the Horde is supposed to finally figure themselves out in BfA…whatever that means.
I personally don’t want the Horde written as straight up “irredeemable monsters” after BfA.
What is up with all these Horde players excusing burning people alive?
I haven’t seen a single Horde player excuse it. Not a single person arguing with your single-minded viewpoint has acted as if Teldrassil was anything other than the atrocity that it is. At most, I’ve seen why some have commented why the Horde leadership did not move against her; that’s it.
The Horde is in the belief that the Alliance is in every bit as invested in a War of Annihilation against them, as they are currently against the Alliance. There is a tangible fear that turning on each-other when there is a World War would only lead to them getting destroyed by the Alliance; even if they managed to succeed in toppling the Sylvanas regime. Thus, no matter their feelings on Teldrassil (and as far as I can tell NONE of them approve of it outside of Sylvanas loyalists) they feel cornered.
Long story short, they’re trapped. Teldrassil served remarkably in not only investing both factions into this war; but also silencing dissent within the Horde itself, ensuring Sylvanas maintains control. The other races of the Horde aren’t about to betray Sylvanas if all that means is getting destroyed by the Alliance. So, if the Alliance really wanted to give them the freedom to turn on her, they’d back off and reinforce their positions after Dazal’alor (giving any rebellion stewing breathing room to grow).
Then you haven’t been looking very hard.
As for war of annihilation. Thats all your own head canon.
