Even if the message is in game, AFAIK no rules have been broken.
Blizzard said they would take action against those that maliciously steal other peopleâs names during transfer. This is such an instance.
Speaking of names. If people didnt notice. they actually freeâd up names on grob and pagle. those that were deemed as âinactiveâ
I dont think many know of that so might give it a shot to get your name there and anyone reading this too
I canât do that because it is my main, Iâm not going to make a new character. I need the character I already have.
So pick a new name or be unoriginal and put one of those accented letters in it.
Iâm not doing that. My sub ends in 3 days. If it isnât resolved by then, then I know Blizzard is an incompetent company that truly doesnât care at all for their players and will let the sub expire. This would have NEVER happened back when we actually had GMs.
see ya bud!
I have a bunch of names on galakras if anyone is interested.
should have transferred over before the unlock.
I did. You didnât read my post. He transferred an alt the moment server transfers were available on Tuesday, then paid for a name change to change his name to my main in order to block me, knowing that our guild wasnât allowed to transfer over until that Thursday as we had raid still. Blizzard should have never allowed paid name changes as the whole point of having a locked fresh server was so that people could keep their names without fear of someone stealing them.
What was your name?
All you have in your OP is a bunch of conjecture and victimhood crashing out. if thats all you had in the ticket you opened, for sure Blizz found no proof of malicious intent.
All you can do at this point is pick a new name and move on.
Took you this long to realize blizzard is incompetent?
Youâre not gonna get your names.
They literally had a name change sale the same week
You clearly donât understand and thatâs okay. Iâm creating this post to spread awareness about how Blizzard made a gigantic mess up by allowing paid name changes on a server, whoâs ENTIRE purpose of being created was to insure that people would be able to keep their names and to prevent people from sniping other peopleâs names maliciously. But I suppose if it profit Blizzard even slightly, then people can pay to grief.
While it was locked? Genius.
course not theyâre paid not care. they have prescripted responses for you. youâre never getting a legit helpful response from. best to stop wasting time on it. all youâre doing is feeding us loads of entertainmentâŠ
again course they wonât. why would they. a service was paid for and rendered. thats all that matters. if you have a problem with one of the paid services you need to reach out to the CS Twitter account. sorry bro. but you lost a name. time to persist and move on.
bruh, youâre getting griefed twice homie. you just donât realize it⊠pack it up and move onâŠ
Nope. It was to save space for people moving over. You were never guaranteed your name.
Names canât be stolen. You either have it or you donât. If someone go to it first, youâre outta luck.
And no, Blizzard wasnât required to lock paid name changes either. Locking character creation was only to keep the population from growing, not to save anyoneâs name. Thatâs just not a thing.
I understand youâre not familiar with the situation so Iâll try to explain it briefly:
Blizzard made a new server for all the servers to collapse onto, a mega server. In order for them to do this without people losing their current names, they made auxiliary servers that each server was assigned to that ultimately would be connected to the central mega server. They created these auxiliary servers (like Nazgrim) that week so they were brand new, there was no population on them, and prevented characters from being created on these servers for a week. They then had free character transfers from ONLY Faerlina to Nazgrim (again, a FRESH and also LOCKED server). So that everyone that transfers to Nazgrim (a server that is connected to the mega server) will be guaranteed their names, itâs literally WHY they made the server.
The problem is that someone could act maliciously and transfer an ALT character to Nazgrim and quickly do a paid name change to then steal someone elseâs name if they so desired. Preventing that person from transferring their character over and forcing them to lose their name.
