Someone stole my name from Faerlina to Nazgrim server with paid name change before I could transfer my main

I understand the situation completely.

My explanation stands.

Your “mansplaining” wasn’t necessary.

The name wasn’t stolen. You didn’t own it. You still don’t.

I’m not arguing with you. You clearly don’t know the situation because if you did you wouldn’t have said:

Nope. It was to save space for people moving over. You were never guaranteed your name.

They made a megaserver with “practically infinite” space, at least that’s what they said. And so that people could keep their names they made connected / auxiliary servers. They also said people who steal other people’s names will have action taken against them.

well at the end of the day it’s a name. I don’t understand why people get so worked up about a video game name. It sounds like maybe you should have transferred to a different server and removed yourself from this person entirely. If he’s in the same guild as you i’m not sure why you continue to stay. The more upset you get the more this person is going to feed off it. Ignore him and move on, even if that means moving to a new server.

You are, and you’re still wrong.

That’s not correct.

They NEVER said that.

That’s not how it works, or was supposed to work, or was explained to work.

Plain and simple, you didn’t own it; it wasn’t yours to “claim” and wasn’t yours to keep.

And FYI, the email you posted above seems suspect anyway, because the grammar is WAY off:

That sentence isn’t even close to being coherent. I seriously doubt a GM would send anything like that.

Regardless, if it WAS legit, they told you it was previously investigated, so THIS ^ person didn’t need to look at it, only the notes.

You can be unhappy with the answer, but pushing the subject could end up getting YOUR account actioned.

I fully 100% agree. I was shocked to receive that message too. Which is why when I received it I was furious because I didn’t feel that the person even read my ticket, where I actually provided information on the specific person. This time I included screenshots, to prove it was malicious.

You know Blizzard has more proof than you do, right?

Someone transferred to the server before you with the same name, simple as that. No one here is going to believe your make-believe story.

This will happen less if you actually use unique names, you should try it out.

These are mega servers. Space was never an issue. If Blizzard didn’t care about names they would have sent players to Pagel directly.

And this is different how? They couldn’t pick up and keep a ball in their hands if they tried.

That’s not how it worked. Nazgrim was entirely fresh server, with new characters locked so the server was empty, and the only population allowed onto Nazgrim were direct server transfers from Faerlina ONLY. Making Nazgrim effectively Faerlina. Nobody could transfer to Nazgrim the first few days, nor make new characters there, except for Faerlina players. This player transferred one of his alt characters over as soon as server transfers opened to Nazgrim (again a fresh server that could only have transfers from Faerlina), and he immediately paid for a name change and changed it to my main’s name (this wasn’t just happenchance, he knows me personally and I’ve raided with him, he did this to target me and steal my name).

Explain why blizzard put name changes for sale the week all this happened?

Servers are locked, you can’t make a new toon on any of them.

Name changes, server xfers and boosts all go on sale the same week.

Monkahmm?

Because Blizzard also freed up inactive names, so paid name change is how you take advantage of that on an existing character.

I’ll take things that he made up for $500 Alex

issue there is proving malicious nature.

they could jsut take the name. No malice.

If my name was taken I’d have no claim. I’d be going okay…some one else knows of Ivixia Dannica. to WH 40k geeks, a famed Ordo Malleus Inquisitor.

Incompetence, lack of foresight?

In my case it was malice, I personally know them, as stated earlier numerous times.

What was your name???

Honestly - you’re probably SoL - the name change stuff was set before they announced the clusters. Because it was oversight on their part they won’t take action against people, especially since it was through a paid service.

Even if you could prove it, what you’re basing your claim off of (the malicious intent post blizzard made) was for a process they never ended up using. This was if they were going to make us ALL go to Pagle - and not the clusters.

this happened to me except I tried to write a ticket on it and it constantly went over and over and over back to articles and wouldn’t even allow me to write a ticket.

Good lord, you opened multiple tickets because of someone taking your name?

And people wonder why the wait time is so long…

yes I did, because I dont want o have to pay 8 dollars to change my name back for something that was advertised as “we take this seriously” is that hard to understand? And if you actually read the post it says the ticket was never actually submitted. lol

Cool, but I didn’t read your post and was not replying to you.

I was replying to OP that first made this thread.
