Social Anxiety and Blizzard's push to exclude those with it -or- Hey, where the heck is my good solo content?

Well the problem is with that is you see it with WoW. The result right now is become a lobby dungeon/raid grinder game. In order to have the next level experience I think a ton of players are looking for you need to take a game like Minecraft/NMS with huge amounts of worlds to explore and places to go. Make them so large that exploring them isn’t realistic for a site like WoWhead or IV.

Then have players do the legwork and go from there. It’d be cool to see players come across a dunegon but because no one has ran it you have to get a group of brave adventurers to go in and get the money or loot for the local town to have resources.

Or it’d be cool if you’re playing and you begin to realize stealing is a better way to make money and you stumble into a a group of NPCs who actually smuggle and now you’re a smuggler headed to a land where you didn’t imagine.

Right now MMORPG to so many players means Raid/Dungeon loot. Better items because that’s an RPG! Well by those dunces standards CoD is a RPG and so is any action game with an item system.

Who says that they aren’t getting help? Have you ever struggled with mental illness. Seeing a therapist for one day won’t make all of your problems go away.

If both of you are maxed you both have the same options to work on till new stuff is released. So, all good?

I mean this kinda proves that the content isn’t fun then right? If the reward is all your after then the journey there isn’t fun.

I don’t think they’re wicked. Just uninformed. And any mental illness is still stigmatized. But I don’t want gear that I didn’t work for, that’s all. We’re not here to educate them.

If you’ve done therapy as most of us have we’ve learned the techniques of dealing with what’s in front of us.

What you and the others are missing is that this solo content (mage tower, argus, visions, etc.) in the last couple of expansions were only implemented at the end, never the beginning.

Maybe it should always be in there, but you all gotta stop claiming that you always had a way to progress without doing group content.

if wow did this id quit. i like the way the game plays right now thanks. dont like alot of the specifics. but as a whole the games doing fine. if another game did this however? might be pretty cool. id play it.

You’re spot on.

Do you know why? Because it’s the logical answer.

It’d be great if Blizzard could allocate the resources to create a parallel single player experience for those that don’t want to or can’t group with others, for whatever reason, but it’s not reasonable to ask that of them as if they owed it to you.

There’s plenty of Single Player games, or even MMOs that are more geared towards the casual audience.

Blizzard can’t provide a life to those that have no desire to seek one outside of WoW, such as yourself, or even the OP.

Let go bro. There’s a world outside.

I mean I haven’t logged in since January in retail.

I do have a life outside which is why I don’t want to work my way up using internet people but rather real life friends who game together. Because I don’t have that–I quit.

I have a sub until April 30th then I’m gone. Because 6 month sub and new expansion I thought I’d have hours of fun but I realized I only had a small time of fun because endgame content is basically Keyboard DDR.

i really dont get this argument. what do you think every solo player of wow has never played another rpg. and the real problem is they have an irrational fear of playing other games? no people like wow because of its gameplay. thats like saying if you dont like the endgame of diablo 3 you should go play baldurs gate.

I play mostly solo and do not raid or run dungeons anymore. I try to get the best gear that I can, but realize I will hit a wall soon and won’t be able to advance as far as gear is concerned. But that’s okay. I don’t need mythic gear if I am not running mythics or raiding.

There are other ways to advance your character, like reputation or achievements for example.

Just curious if you have any close friends in real life that might want to create a character and play together with you?

Oh dear. I foresee this thread not going well for you OP… I hope people aren’t as cruel to you as this forum tends to be to anyone who raises any sort of defense for anything not m+/arena/rated bg/mythic raids… but I fear they will be.

Either way, all I’ll say is that I support your concept here OP… the game should have more activities that encourage people to and reward people for playing in more different ways, different group sizes, and different playstyles.

Good luck coping with your social anxiety, I know how rough that can be.

Which offers zero gear outside of Soul Ash for a single slot.
Meanwhile Visions offered gear that scaled with difficulty.

At the end of BFA I was able to eventually gear up enough to do 5 masks solo consistently and had a chance at powerful gear.

Now the only thing I can get upgrades from that isn’t PvP is the TW and Dungeon weekly events and I keep getting dupes from those. It would be less annoying if those weren’t my only two sources. They also require groups so it’s not even strictly solo content even though it has a low bar of entry.

If Torghast had expanded on the reward system from Visions I think a lot of players would be happier.

Sometimes you have to get over things or you have to accept that you arent going to be able to do the content. It’s a bit blunt, but the truth is communication is a simple concept that people will want you to have and if you cannot do that then people wont really want to play with you.

Did you not know that alternative means of gearing means handouts, which means welfare, which means you should top begging for free gear and git gud!

You are just reiterating my point though. With no wage no one would work if you want to use that comparison. You aren’t progressing to feel you are getting better at what you do, you are progressing for the end result, the higher wage, or better gear. And again there can be challenging content for solo players that allows them to progress their character.

You are just going in circles and the fact you want to instantly compare a form of entertainment to the struggles of real life is quite sad and telling of why this game is slowly withering away.

Nothing because they’re never online since they’re raid logging. Not talking about myself. Nope :upside_down_face:.

I am trying to do group content. I stopped pugging because of random suggestions to delete wow then myself. Everyone says find a guild. When I do join a guild I get told to pug anyway.

to me the real problem with solo endgame isnt gear or a lack of content. i think the root problem is that blizzard designs solo content around the assumption that most people are just using it to fill time inbetween “the real endgame”. pretty much everything you cant do in a group is designed as either braindead filler or balanced around you having gear from other sources.
