I’ve had my issues with anxiety when I was younger, but I never found them to be an issue in game. I mean…no one knows who I am. That said, with the reliance on discord and job applications and interviews to get into guilds nowadays, I can see how that might be a problem.
for someone with social anxiety, you sure had no issue posting on a forum known for not being constructive and just being full of toxic vitrol. I think you’ll be able to do fine.
They didn’t say they are getting help and the world and world of Warcraft isn’t going to change it’s direction for them
Never struggled with anything mental health related a day in my life aside from maybe a few bouts of short lived situational depression
Okay Karen–go back to the wholefoods now so you can get away from the bad people who live inside of a city.
Nope. The core gameplay of WoW and most other MMO’s is not all that fun to be honest. It’s the loot treadmill that keeps people playing and maybe in some cases the social element, but as far as gameplay there are so many other games with far superior gameplay.
Before Legion and WoD we had Valor and Badges.
It was slower pre-MoP than what you would get raiding, but it was progression.
WoD, which did a lot of things wrong, did the whole mission board gear thing which was a mess.
Being able to gather badges/valor via LFG and other easy to get into content gave a lot more players a path for progression.
Acting like these alternate systems never happened is just silly.
What a odd thread.
The OP is in a guild… is currently the guild leader of said guild.
The guild isn’t new either…
you not liking the game isnt an argument. thats just not liking a game. if this was objective fact there wouldnt be so many people asking for better solo content.
I wouldn’t even bother reading the forums if I had quit (and believe me, I’ve done multiple times over the last 16 years), let alone make an “I quit thread”, only to still linger.
But that’s just me.
The problem with the solo players is that they expect Blizzard to turn their game into something that it’s not.
I came back to WoW after a long break halfway through the pandemic, and I played what time I had with BFA absolutely solo.
I got my Bruto. I farmed some cool transmog…
Was it fun? Not too much, but it helped me pass the time while I couldn’t go outside.
Now, instead of complaining that the game doesn’t change for me, I changed for the game. I got into a guild, play with people I enjoy playing with, and I have more fun than I had being a “solo player”.
The point is, the game is what it is. Blizzard doesn’t owe the solo or casual players to change it into what they want it to be.
I think it’d be more constructive if people just tried leaving feedback into what WoW could do to include them, instead of complaining about Blizzard “catering to the elitists”.
My 2c.
what an odd comment… it’s almost like you know nothing about social anxiety and assume that all social anxiety situations are identical and in all cases it means that the person is completely incapable of interacting with others at all…
Reminder for you. Since you seem so focused on reading the first sentence only.
Get it?
I have enough for what I do. If I want to push Mythics I will do the same as the others before me and work my way up.
You stalemated, it happens every expansion. You have nothing left of the content you like so like everyone else you have the same option to push at your own pace or like me be happy with what you have and go.
Or the third, where you throw a fit and name call those who did the content and expects everything handed to them. Us real casuals, are tired of this third group.
They don’t have to tell you that if they don’t to.
If you actually think people with mental illness shouldn’t be accommodated as much as possible, then that’s pretty ableist.
So you don’t understand the problem.
The answer is the same, if you have reached the limits of what you can achieve in game, either through personal reasons or reaching the goal of that patch like mythic raiders can, its ok to have an endpoint in your gearing. Thats what helps make gearing matter patch to patch.
I had my OP written last week. It’s taken me that long to get the courage to post this. My stomach is in knots as I sit here reading and replying.
sure they dont owe us anything. dont see why this means we cant ask for it. its not like theyve never listened to player feedback. personally i dont really care that much. i dont even really play the game much anymore. i just like arguing on the forums while my subscription runs out because people keep making the same weird argument about mmo games being skyrim with multiplayer
You and I have different tastes. Maybe if you went outside more you’d realize that people aren’t like you. Or are you one of those people who don’t like others having different view points than you?
I mean it’s clear you live in a bubble because people do things that you wouldn’t do. I’m sorry almighty Tonletta for not living up to your high standards! I didn’t realize I who I was talking to! I should strive to better myself so I can emulate your image of what people like to do with their spare time!
Or maybe if I wanted you lame opinion on what is valuable I’d ask for it instead you just decide to blather on about what you think is important. Cool.
People want to progress through solo play, has nothing to do with the gameplay. You think people run the same dungeons and raids over and over again because the gameplay is great? I will say it was a bit harsh to say the gameplay is not fun at all, but it isn’t the driving force behind why 99% of people do things in this game.
well cant say there’s no content just because you dont want to do said content
If there’s no content they enjoy from their view there’s no content.
Are you a child? It’s not really a hard concept to grasp.
by that logic everyone would just play the grindiest mmo. but no this games popular. you know why? because its good. at least better then other mmos.
(im talking about popular consensus. personally i prefer guild wars 2.)
