So can we finally admit that not having RDF killed Wrath Classic?

Yea but who are you?

I have 5 ulduar ready characters atm, haven’t missed RDF at all

Wrath is dead because everyone is playing the new expansion.
Full stop.
Thats the main reason…
Lfg was fine for end game.

That’s bot what my server is reflecting.
Oh and
Full stop. I guess.

No, this is why Classic gets to be different.

Whatever spin you’re willing to believe.

yep.

the really funny bit to this tin foil is team brian incurred extra costs for no RDF. that retail inspired LFG…took time. time is money, friend as the goblins say. I don’t get the this was for retail bit. I don’t see Brian as director going to request more money to fund LFG overhaul to make Ion’s game look better.

If this was the case if I was Brian I’d be going hell no…take that from Ion’s budget lol.

really funny bit is in my case its not even rdf a contentious point anymore. I used it like 2 times in df. only ran 2 dungeons leveling lol.

the leveling in df open world was not that bad to me. hell I had to complete main story from blue dragon flight after level cap lol. the side stories drew me in so I ahd a blast running them.

Now I do the same thing in retail as I do in wrath. PVP queues.

I just don’t care about RDF. I’ve now leveled 2 toons from level 1 since Wrath came out. XP at the lower levels flies since it’s all been nerfed. Not only does it take less xp to level but you can knock off another 20% with heirlooms.

I get that you guys want it, I think it’s trash.

Leveling in retail is a complete joke. It’s story mode RPG. This is why it’s good that Classic actually has a different leveling experience. Some people want to play in a way that Retail doesn’t support.

Gotta look at the big picture. I’d call it sabotage. Removing rdf for wotlk, especially from version 3 4 took additional cost and labor. This is true. Thus it takes more effort to level, especially as the lower pop thins out. Everything they did do hit the players the hardest. Arguably lfg doesn’t make the game better for the vast majority. It hurts weaker servers. Its like they (Blizzard) needed classic to fail. If classic fails just enough people wont be so mad they’ll completely hate Blizzard still ve willing to give DF another look.

While I’m not much of a dungeon runner myself (I prefer PvP), I can definitely sympathise with those who think it should have been implemented. I see lower level members of my guilds begging for anyone to run vanilla and TBC dungeons with them all the time.

I surely believe that the introduction of RDF did a lot of damage to the feeling of community within game, but if it would bring more players into the game, I say go for it.

I mean, it makes sense (to me) that RDF did damage to the community, simply because it meant you could have access to almost all the content without needing to connect with or even talk to other players. People would queue up, run the dungeon, and no one said a word the whole time, then you never see those players again. For all it mattered, those may as well have been NPCs you just did SM with.

I don’t have a good solution, but having an active player base is critical. I remember playing the SoM vanilla realms, and at some point my realm became a ghost town, and it became nearly impossible to play the game, due to lack of a reasonable economy and no one to play with. Let’s face it, an MMO without players SUCKS to play.

I think leaving RDF out did more damage to the game than implementing it would have done. Hopefully Blizz realizes that soon, or WoW Classic is in for a long, slow death.

This has been a problem since day 1 of wrath when the only groups being accepted were spellcleave/full mage groups and any spec that didnt have an aoe spell (rogue specifically) were basically hard ignored unless they made their own group (who would willingly join anyways). Due to the nature of classic and how it is overly minmaxed, certain classes/specs just were never able to find a group. Now that the game is pretty much dead its next to impossible.

I Also don’t understand the hate towards dungeon grinding, its 100% the slower way to level compared to power farming quests, some people just like slow and chill leveling grinds where they dont have to run around the map doing quests. I see absolutely no problem with rdf and dungeon grinding and i think anybody arguing against it at this point just has absolutely no idea what they are talking about

I beg your pardon? I fully leveled as combat and sure i didn’t do much on trash until i got Blade Flurry, but i did better single target damage on bosses then mages did and adding in a leather wearer does wonders to ensure that the group stays together and not fighting over cloth drops.

I agree with you. Plus most of the people begging for RDF probably didn’t play much Vanilla or TBC as they would have had like 2-4 years to level up alts. Not to mention the 6-8 weeks of 50% bonus experience just before Wrath. Anyone leveling up an alt completely missed the boat and is either a returning player or just didn’t bother to level alts during the last 4 years.

They’ll deny it of course.

Sorry let me rephrase what i said to what what i meant.
Wrath isnt dead it just currently has less players all over the world because people are interested in the new expansion,
Regions like america will still have servers with a few players but oceanic which only had 1 server 10k people and a 2nd server 5k people a month after launch and way way less now, is technically dead or people having a break for the new content,

Don’t forget, the holiday season is also coming up, so people would start taking the time to spend time with there families or prepare for the holiday season

I logged on Tuesday for my raids.

I will log on next Tuesday for my raids.

I’m guessing you’ve never played on a privste server, huh? The average private server at best has a couple of 1000 players on during peak hours. Thus far I’d say Blizzard is doing quite well. Wotlkc doesn’t have to be perfect. Bluzzard doesn’t care or need to care if some people are displeased with classic. Retail is their cashcow. Classic is just for those of us with memba berries and don’t care about all the additives.

Forgive me if I don’t take you seriously. You played wotlk content on 7 different servers and somehow you can’t find a group ? You need to look inward to understand why that might be. After all, you’re the only constant across 7 different servers.

As I said, I personally play regularly on faerlina and Eranikus and find pug raids and pug heroics with little to no trouble.

I also find it interesting that you’ve played across all these servers yet have no friends or a guild to group with.

What exactly are you doing that deters so many people from playing with you ?

Or maybe the issues caused by lack of RDF are fairly constant across servers which is why go to a different server is a BS argument.

So raids which RDF doesn’t impact any ways and heroic dungeons which are still somewhat populated but only if you do the dailies. Sounds more like you just aren’t really doing content that benefits from RDF so you really have comprehension of the issues.
