Skill > Gear

I don’t plan to bring you to an arbitration for a forum post. But okay.

:relaxed: Aww boostie boy, I’m flattered!

I bet it is very easy when your friend has 226

What does my friend’s gear have to do with anything? I was overgeared most matches and was able to stay alive and help DPS/Cross CC.

Helping you win? Do you not see why your 1800 with 180 ilvl?

I feel like maybe you’re mistaking a carry for someone whose good at the game?

If you go watch a streamer do a carry, their carry does absolutely nothing while the streamer does the work but in my case I actively helped set up kills for my partner, I cross CC’d with him and some matches I helped kite the enemies long enough for us to have multiple go’s.

Mind you, I was undergeared throughout most of this and came out alive most of the time.

Gear disparity is really just skill disparity imo, it’s doable if you take the time to learn the game mechanics.

I know you aren’t gonna believe me but you are getting boosted. On my main I have killed people who outgear me alot with my partner same ilvl but it’s different when your partner has 226 if I play with someone that has 226 and I have lets say 190 does it look like I’m getting boosted?

These things have NOT existed since SL

The gear disparity could be overcome, ie; (MOP Gearing)

  • Crafted PvP Armor
  • Honor PvP armor
  • Conquest (basic)
  • Conquest (elite) - Recolor with small ilv diff (I think)

The current gear, all walled behind tiers has a significate ilv difference between each tier, creating a gear over skill issue, with no real fix unless you can hit that tier all the while fighting boosters.

All the while CR/MMR manipulation, creating a PTW environment, and also for IRL cash.

In 2’s it’s highly prevalent, and no one cares what YOU or anyone else thinks about it’s “seriousness” or “competitiveness”… some people just play with a close friend / brother / sister / etc. and want to have fun, and could care less about a rating on the top … whatever. No one player or individual should EVER be forced to partake in a certain bracket / event / or scenario to get gear to not get one shot by people who are booting to accomplish the latter.

Like I said you’re entitled to your opinion, but I pulled my fair share of the weight so I don’t see it as getting boosted.

This is an MMO, good sir. Gear is SUPPOSED to matter, do you expect new toons to just invalidate the countless hours people have spent grinding for gear?

There was no mention of gear needing not to matter. Not sure where you are drawing that sentiment of a statement from.

The problem is the tier implementation in place as mentioned before, which you neglected to read / comprehend.

As it stands, a 200 iLevel player should easily be able to hit 1400, a 207 upgrade will get them to 1600 easily and so on and so forth.

If people can’t climb then that’s a skill issue imo and there’s plenty of resources to learn from.

Sure, that would absolutely be the case if the CR/MMR wasn’t manipulated for profit.

Pretty much sums up everything in WoW. Good game, still has problems, but the some in the community prevents us from having nice things.

This doesn’t happen as often as fighting someone with a lower CR with 226 gear from RBGs, they too often get mistook for a carry due to the gear diff but the skill diff still exists and can be overcome even if you have a lower iLevel.

:100:

That’s a one sided opinion from one viewpoint. Sure RBG’s are easier to get gear, but again, if you are forced into one event to obtain gear; bad development.

Just because you fail to understand my logic and skipped over it doesn’t make it my view point a “one sided opinion”:

Regardless of what other people are doing with their time, wether that’s boosting or getting boosted, YOU can climb to w/e rating you want with the tier system provided if you take the time to learn from your mistakes instead of blaming the system.

Logic isn’t something viewed via one person and spun as fact. Apparently you can’t seem to grasp that via all of your older posts.

I’m glad you openly made a statement agreeing boosting is an issue. Thank you. My point is complete … :call_me_hand:

I acknowledge it’s existance but you took it as me claiming it’s an issue

People will do anything to feel right these days, as I said before:

Skill > Gear

You really need reading comprehension. Please re-read what YOU wrote as mentioned above.

People will do anything to prove a point, even with anecdotal trash, or skewed viewpoints from one individual

Gear > Skill
