Shadowlands non raid content is apparently a minigame for mythic raiders to abuse

Why?

So you were saying

Cap conquest and get the best gear? No rating involved?

did you play in WoD? or tbc for that matter?

That’s how it was before. Doesn’t even need to be the “best gear in the game” just attach the WoD ilvl scaling and you’re good.

Give people actual paths to gearing outside raids that rewards them for doing the content they enjoy

imagine being so elitist you think you shouldn’t get the gear to compete fairly in pvp by doing pvp activities. XD

Why would you scale down raid gear in open world then?

I know for a fact BC required rating for shoulders and weapons. The best ones that is.

They’ve see-sawed on if rating requirements are good or not.

They started in TBC season 3 (weps and shoulders) and evolved to every slot in season 4 and Wrath.

Cata went back to just a few slots at eventually they removed them.

They obviously have no idea how they want PvP progression to work.

So people who like open world content are powerful in open world content?

do you remember literally afking and not even having to win just do 5 matches to get enough stuff to get everything else though? literally just standing there. if you grind wins in low level arena to get conquest there’s no reason you shouldn’t be able to get a set to do random bgs with. you realize i’m talking about doing arena right not random bgs to get it?

i mean if it’s so easy where your mythic gear?

I’ve never been in an arena where you could just stand afk and get points.

you obviously didn’t play in tbc then. because that was season 1 stuff.

Did it in Wrath and Cata.

Do you understand how the legion templates worked? You literally had x base stats and then based your ilvl your character’s power grew… Pretty sure we can check this one

Do you know that as each season happened that gear was upgraded for doing pvp in your random rewards/weekly chest. Which meant that you weren’t at your best whenever you did pvp at the start of a patch?

I can understand your sentiments about this partially. PvP SHOULD have a skill component as well as a gear component. Personally I believe that it should be between 60/40-75/25 in favor of skill over gear. My reasoning for this is because at its core PvP is a competitive, unscripted encounter between two forces. Its literally impossible to create, memorize, then execute a convoluted plan in PvP because of the nature of the opponent.

Its not hard to get any gear in WoW unless you dont fit into what the dev gods have decided is the right way to play their game.

Getting geared in prior expansions for PvP in PvP was still a time investment no? You took your lumps being under-geared and then were able to fight back after many, many deaths on the battlefield. Kinda like how people learn to fight in a scripted encounter. The only difference is that in PvP the enemy has an ever increasing difficulty on average because the player base is always increasing their gear score. Raids do not have that and instead are static in difficulty.

This means that gating the best gear behind rating (instead of sexy transmogs and neat toys) means that you are constantly falling behind unless you do everything else in the game as well. This leads to an unfun competitive environment for the PvPer.

Whatever you say. Ain’t worth arguing with you.

afking for arena point was TOTALLY a thing.

It was.

Prior to…MoP? The only requirement was playing (not even winning) 10 games to get conquest points the following Tuesday to buy gear.

If items required rating to purchase went back and forth over time.

So raiders can’t be powerful in openworld contentment because they would be more powerful than people that do wq?
