Returning player can't find any OLD characters

How about me? I can’t seem to find what server my characters are on. Catalysm i think is the last time i played.

The majority of your characters appear to be on Nazjatar, Ehiem. With one lonely Orc Hunter on Black Dragonflight.

Looks like you’ve been gone for a bit, so all of your characters had their names changed to free them up. Before logging in you’ll be prompted to select new names. You might check to see if your old name is available if you want to reclaim them.

Hey. Just getting back into it! I played very little of BFA before heading out. Just coming back and all of my Horde characters are gone. All I can see are a handful of Alliance toons I started to mess around with. Any help would be nice! Had a Demon Hunter and Pally that I was mainly concerned with!

Do you recall the name/realm of the Demon Hunter and Paladin, Mccringle?

I only see those Alliance characters on Burning Blade and Cenarius. That usually indicates you may be logged into the wrong WoW license. The only other WoW license I see on this Battle.net account is a Starter Edition so I’m guessing it is a different Battle.net account entirely.

If you can give me a character name/realm I might be able to point you in the right direction.

Actually, I think your name is unique enough that it makes it a bit easier to find.

You played primarily on Burning Blade? level 118 Blood Elf Paladin, 110 Goblin Mage? 110 Undead Warlock, 110 Blood Elf Demon Hunter? 110 Tauren Death Knight and 110 Troll Warrior? Of the higher level characters.

I can’t really provide an account name/email address on the forums but I can tell you it was a Gmail account starting with a P, if that helps.

Yes that does help. And those are the characters. I must have forgotten about that email address when I came back into playing. So, this may be a long shot… but since I used this account I’m on now to purchase shadowlands, is it possible to switch that over to the other account with those horde characters? without having to repurchase the expansion?

We generally can’t switch the license over, but if you just purchased Shadowlands, which it looks like you have, I’d recommend using the automated refund option here.

Then just purchase the expansion on the account you want it on.

If it says you don’t have any eligible purchases select the “I still need help” option. While no refund it guaranteed, I can’t imagine how this wouldn’t qualify.

Okay I’ll do that. Thank you so much. I was able to get back into that old account successfully. I really appreciate it!

This is the creator of Gorum and this is my other account. Honestly the only Character name i can actually remember is Kokcroach an 85? undead rogue. Who im pretty sure i transferred from boulderfist to im not sure where. i also had an 85 blood elf paladin and an 80 orc death knight.

Sorry, Cryptoid. I’m not finding anything that points to another Battle.net account. I can’t find a character with that name that may have been on Boulderfist. :frowning:

You good, Zeez? Epyque appears to be on Frostwolf. You have a lot of low level characters spread on several realms. You have a few midlevel characters on Dethecus.

Thanks for looking i found them on another account.

Hello,
is there any way to find a character named Krypter (I had 2 of them in the past) ? it was a undead mage female on Burning Blade and/or Dark Iron ? possibly the account was hacked. I am not 100% sure on the realm name. but I am trying for over 1 week to find it now and it’s not an easy task.
thanks a lot!

Do you remember anything else, Krypt? If it was awhile ago it is entirely possible the character lost access to the name, but it might help to know when you were last playing.

Was this prior to 2009? Or do you remember adding that WoW license to a Battle.net account? Did you have a similar BattleTag to what you have now?

Did you use the name currently on this account or something else? Not using your real name may complicate things, but we can sometimes help depending on the situation.

I am having a similar issue where my old characters are not popping up on the Realm Selection. I can’t remember what server’s my characters were on to be honest.

It looks like you only have this character on your WoW license, Spdrmonkey, and no other WoW licenses on this Battle.net account. Do you recall using a different email address for your account? My guess is there is another Battle.net account with your old WoW license where your characters are.

If you can recall some character specifics like Name/Realm/Level/Class, etc… I might be able to hunt them down. I can’t provide account specific information on the forums, obviously, but I might be able to give you a hint so you can find it yourself.

I do not remember the Realm, but it should have been an 70ish?? gnome Rogue named Lendyan.

I believe I found it. The WoW license is pre-2009 when you could select your own name and that is similar to your BattleTag, so seems to confirm that. The name on the Battle.net account doesn’t seem to match though. If I had to guess, based on the history here the account looks like it was either sold or compromised. I’m heavily leaning towards compromised.

If that is the case I’d encourage that you open a ticket so that our staff can take a look. You can use this option for your ticket. You’ll need to attach an ID for verification and I would include the name of your WoW License (which is your BattleTag) and the character name/class like you listed here. That will help them find it easier.

Hello Vrakthris,

yes it was before 2009. one of the account I actually stoped playing in that time or possibly in 2008. at some point it looks like the name on the account was changed as I started to receive some emails to another name. I was not playing anymore so I guess this did not had my attention at that time but it looks like my account was hacked/stolen.
is there any way to retrieve any past info since the beginning of time on the email related to this account ?
