You can do a paid character transfer from the original to the upgraded account.
If you recently purchased Shadowlands and/or game time for this account we may be able to get you a refund so you can apply it to your original account. You can use the automatic refund option for the system to check, but you may need to put in a ticket so a GM can take a look if it says you don’t qualify.
I’m afraid there isn’t much that can be done about your Classic characters. They can’t be transferred. However, we may be able to move that license onto your original account so at least it is all in one place.

Hello, I’m reading these pages but it doesnt state how you’re searching for characters. I started playing again and made several new alts because I thought I lost characters from when I use to play. When I rejoined, I had to create a character in the realm, than my old Alts would pop up. I cant just go to the server and look. It’ll just show emtpy until I made a character than my alts would pop up. I was looking through old pictures and see Alts i use to play but have no idea what server they are on. I would like to see if I can retrieve them because I use to PVP with several of them. Would it be possible to know how you search for characters without going server per server?
Support Forum Agents have internal tools at their discretion that are not available to the general public.
If you recall the names, you can supply them here and one of them may find the time to go through and find them. Otherwise, going server by server is about your only option if you’ve been gone long enough for a character service to not be of use.

I’m searching for the characters using the tools that I have available to me as a Support Forum Agent. 
You can usually search by visiting the Character Transfer Page, which should list most of the characters on your account. That is assuming they are on the account and license you are checking.
I don’t show any characters with those names on the account you are currently posting from. I might be able to find the character if it exists on another character, assuming it wasn’t renamed at some point, but there are a bunch of characters with the name Iconus, so I’d need a race/class/level if you could provide it.
I don’t see a character with the name of Avengorok anywhere, so it might have been renamed years ago when names were released.

is there any way for us to find old accounts before the battle.net transition and merge them to our new accounts? I played back from TBC-either cata and mop but I no longer can access the email account my old characters were under. is there a way to try and recover it?
If you had your name on the account or knew what the email address registered to it was our staff should be able to hunt it down.
Finding a really old WoW license purely by character names may be challenging since many of those character names would have had their names changed with character name releases.
You can try using this ticket option here. You might need to select the option " The email address on my Blizzard account was changed, or I don’t remember what it is".
Just explain you are trying to recover an old account and add it to your current Battle.net.

I played on trollbane, Gorgonnash and I believe I transfered my main to Mug’thol.
It’s been 12 years since I last played. I did get on a few years back for a week or two but I got off again. I don’t remember being this hard to find my toons.

It wouldn’t be recommended. You’d likely receive a bit of spam as a result.
Do you recall an email that ended in @Tom.com? That appears to be the Battle.net account those characters are on.
No I do not recall that email. I paid for a character transfer on this account. Not sure if it can be verified? Transaction 12/14/2011
The email domain Vrak mentioned points to a page written In kanji. If you do not recall using an Asian domain for email, I would suggest persuing this as an attempt to reactivate a hijacked account.
