May as well toss my hat into here as well. Got the e-mail last night and havn’t gotten the option since. Relaunched and reinstalled battlenet, installed the beta, all those things. No dice.
Though this may not be exactly the same issue as in here as I was able to get my download, etc. I figured I would post a response I gave in a different thread here in any event for the BLUES to check on.
"I never post here, ever, but figured I’d throw my 2 cents in. Yesterday, just to dot the “i’s” and cross the “t’s”, I downloaded the full BFA client to my second drive after I noticed some people were getting into the stress test and I had not (no email or anything). Download was done like at 630p or so.
I received an email at 1030p or so based on checking my email this morning. I closed my Bnet (also removed any active processes related to it from task manager), reopened and the stress test option was there and had no problem downloading it to my SSD. It takes up extra space than usual on my SSD due to not already having the retail assets required (because it’s on a separate drive of course). No biggie.
I don’t know if that has anything to do with it, but since your situation sort of matched mine, I figured I would post so that others may be able to troubleshoot.
Edited to also add that back when the Beta testing was announced, I added a PTR option to my account. I also had a free to play account that had been combined to my account for years (the free to play probably has nothing to do with any of this)"
Edited to add: Some people also have multiple PTR’s already linked to account, received an email and still do not have access from their Bnet app. Are these blocking the Stress Test option?
Edited to add: I went to add another PTR account and cannot. I have maxed my accounts. This may be one of the problem BLUES.
Edited to add a previous statement by me: “I added the extra info to the BLUE post. I know that if I had two PTR accounts, retail account and f2p account, I would probably not have gotten the Beta to show because I already maxed myself out at 4 accounts.”
Edited one last time: There appears to be a pattern related to people having at least 2 PTR accounts and not having the Beta Stress account (when they probably should).
Edited one last time… again: Prior to getting invite, I only had 1x Retail account, 1x PTR account, 1x WoW F2p account. The invite appears to have created my second PTR account. I can access beta stress. I can’t add any more accounts. Question to ask… can we only have 4 total accounts (because I can’t create anymore), and is this a cause of the problem for others???
I have two PTR accounts, an email from 7:15pm PST last night, and nowhere to download on the launcher as of 8:00am PST.
Do you have other accounts tied also? Like a free to play version,e tc? That may be your problem. See my above post.
This may also need to be resolved on Blizzard’s side because I cannot remove my other accounts once added. Though, luckily for me I only had one PTR so my Beta was able to be added.
So does anyone know how it’ll work after the stress test, will they invite more that weekend from the stress test to the full access beta?
The PTR accounts sound like the issue then! I have six accounts total listed (Recruit-a-Friend days), two are “free” accounts.
I submitted a ticket yesterday to delete the second PTR account so hopefully I’ll get access today. Thanks!
Awesome! I hope it works for you!!!
i have two PTR accounts as I accidentally hit the create PTR account button twice, I received the email but it is not showing up in the launcher. Is there anyone who got the email, has 2 PTRs in the client, and also has the stress test on top of that?
Starting to sound like that is the issue. I will copy/paste some replies to my post in BLUE thread. I suggest maybe sending a ticket to remove one.
If you have a starter edition, you can go in through support and manually delete that. That gets rid of one of them at least. I have two of the PTR and I killed off a starter edition, still nothing showing up yet. Hopefully once more people get in the office this morning they can get to the bottom of this.
I have 2 ptrs, and i got the stress test email last night. but no download on the dropdown
BLUES would have to give info regarding that. My thought could be that since they originally attempted to add to your account and couldn’t, you may need wait for them to attempt again? Or the issue is tied to the excess PTR accounts. I’d suggest telling everyone who has 2 ptrs and not able to get it to show to post also.
To me it sounds like a pattern worth investigating. Anyhow, I’m going back to lurker status and will not be adding any more info or replying to anything (unless BLUES request my reply).
I’ll be stressing the stress test tonight. I hope others will get this fixed.
Good luck everyone (I hope it is just the double PTRs causing people problems)!!!
I had 2 ptr aswell and saw this pattern. I contacted Support to remove the extra.
Was about to post about it but saw yours!
I have 2 ptr and i also cant download the stress test despite getting the email
So we know the reason. Everyone who has 2 PTR accounts will not see the stress test option showing up. Hopefully Blizzard sees this and can remedy it before the test goes live.
I only just made my PTR account the other day when I was changing some account settings and accidentally made 2. I put in a ticket to have it deleted last night because we can’t do it ourselves (??) but I imagine you guys are swamped with similar issues so RIP stress test for me. I’m salty.
Same issue here, no good. Got super excited for this
I also got a email with a invite to the stress test last night and i also do not have the Beta & Stress Test: WoW Classic option in my drop down.
Do you have 2 PTRs.
Received the email, have 2 PTRs and no stress test option as well.
