Seems like a dumb metric to base a trust system off of but w/e
And who are we talking about here?
And yet WotLK was still peak WoW. Cata had plenty of issues, but RDF wasn’t one of them.
And this is how you can tell someone is trolling.
They make up fake information with no link ever being provided, just like RDF does with his subs dropped after RDF was put in original Wrath.
Then they ignore any posts that do provide actual data that show they are wrong.
Just ignore Baghdad Bob.
Dungeon finder was the only reason I stuck out Cata as long as I did.
It’s the only reason I’ve played on Warmane for over 5 years now lol
Funny I’ve posted links on these forums.
I posted an MMO Champion link to disprove LFG’s claim about Wrath sub drops.
If you aren’t capable of doing that jut put a space in it somewhere so we can see the link and read these “thousands” of anti RDF posts that you say you saw.
Heavywood will of course make up an excuse as to why he/she can’t do it or just ignore this.
This is actually a misunderstanding WOTLK had less growth than both Vanilla and TBC. While TBC ended around 9.5 million subs gaining 5 million over the course of the expansion WOTLK plateus at 11.5 with far less growth than previous versions and eventually died with cata doubling down on WOTLK QoL changes.
So, first of all, ‘peak’ doesn’t mean growth. The peak of subscribers would refer to the time of most subscribers, which was in Wrath, and the first quarter of Cataclysm.
So, realistically, Wrath then saw a positive growth of 2 million subscribers over its time.
You also can’t compare Vanilla to an expansion in terms of growth. That’s just silly.
Jon the convert hero of RDF we didn’t deserve.
By the time these anti RDF people see the light the servers are already half dead
They’ll never see the light. Just like WoW devs, they’d rather go down with the ship than admit they were wrong.
Curse you Capnstabbn. I got my hopes up when I saw this title, and thought Blizzard finally saw reason and went to a viable dungeon finding system for wrath. Then I read the post and saw it was just a wish for RDF, and I got sad that blizzard is still making a terrible decision and not including the one thing that makes doing dungeons fun and viable.
Cata bombed for a lot of reasons, but it wasn’t RDF that caused cata to bomb. A very large amount of the active playerbase was new as of wrath, and the hardest heroic they had ever gone into, was the ICC Heroic dungeons. So even in guild only groups, the dungeons were too hard for the majority of those players. Cataclysm destroyed the game world, had mostly mediocre raids, and then introduced Raid Finder, which had a stepping stone that effectively required you to participate in it as part of your raid progression. They also watered down talent tree’s, and started removing class identity. That’s why cata did poorly, not because it had RDF. Not to mention, the biggest insult blizzard ever threw at us, when they turned Green Jesus into a sissy at the end.
Or worse. Looking at each tick if the clock and waiting until the last min to stop looking cause ou know you will not have enough time to get everyone to the entrance and still run it. So you dont even bother.
This is exactky what will cause ppl to start quitting after the hype wears off. As soon as they feel like they are falling behind because they know if there would have been rdf they could have fit in a dungeon run today but without it, they have to see the new piece of gear thier friend that gets to play twice as long just got. They will feel cheated and falling behind and all the while knowing that rdf would have solved the problem. Dealing with a problem with a known solution that is being ignored will be what pisses ppl off the most.
Those against RDF should go back to vanilla. The servers are litterally online, at this second waiting on all of you.
If the majority actually wanted that kind of design, then Classic Era would be busting with players. It really is mind-boggling Blizz doesn’t see that. Forcing Vanilla design into Wrath when Vanilla servers still exist…and are mostly empty.
It’s the ultimate test of a product, capitalism has spoken. But then again, I don’t think some of these guys like capitalism, so they ignore the obvious result.
We’ve literally been playing on these servers since 2019 they will be fine without the p2w private server crowd
Blizzard destroyed vanilla when they forced people to pay 15 dollars just to keep their characters there.
Go back to vanilla, everything you desire is there, at this very moment. The servers are online. Blizzard never pulled the plug on them, despite there being like 2 people in org/stormwind.
I’m not trying to be mean, it really sounds like you, and some others on here would be happier there. Wrath isn’t your forte, it’s a casual friendly expansion.
