10 is attainable solo. I got to 12 solo and not on pservers. As far as time required, that depends on the server. Rough guess is probably around 35-40 hours/week.

We’re going to have to wait and see, unfortunately, due to the differences in realm populations compared to Vanilla. For my part, I was only able to reach Rank 8 on a high population PvE server (and on the majority side) during Vanilla doing BGs for about 2 or 3 hours a day.
Unless Blizzard has compensated for realm size by proportionally increasing the number of slots available to each rank OR unless server populations decline considerably, I think it’s going to be more difficult this time around.

Back in Vanilla, Rank 10 was quite possible with solo play. You needed to play lots of BGs, but not excessively so.
However, getting above Rank 10 required drastically upping your play and probably farming BGs with an organized and experienced PVP team on voicechat.
It’s hard to tell if these dynamics from Vanilla will hold for Classic.
The biggest difference is the vastly larger number of players per server. This means that the number of players occupying the top ends of the “bell curve” of honor-per-week will likely be much higher than it was in Vanilla.
Due to the increased competition, this could mean that it takes a lot more gametime to get to top ranks than it ever did in Vanilla.

My argument is that is unhealthy and Blizzard should not be encouraging this behavior on players because not only is unhealthy, it promotes violations to TOS and also doesn’t work for the increased amount of population that classic has compared to vanilla.
That’s my argument, no one is claiming that it has to be for everyone or that it should be made easy so thet everyone can get it, what the original system is, is unreasonable, so bad that they changed it, no one liked that system not even the developers.

Rank 10 sounds like it might be doable…but to do all that to get a blue set? Can you even be competitive in a BG wearing the set you just spent 3-4 months and hundreds of hours grinding BGs for?
