I’m not sure what happened this morning but when I was out questing I took off to fly and suddenly all my “favorite” characters were missing. Upon doing more research and doing troubleshooting I noticed I can’t access the Proudmoore server at all (where my characters are) which is probably why they’re missing. I checked the realm status and it doesn’t look like it’s offline? I’ve noticed a lot of connectivity issues with Proudmoore recently so I also didn’t know if this was related? Anyway, I was just wondering if Proudmoore had an issue or if it’s just affecting me? All my “main” characters are on Proudmoore so I can’t really play without access to it lol.
Upon doing more research I found the Proudmoore realm but indeed cannot connect to it. It also shows I have no characters there?
Update: Finally got it to show I have characters there but it won’t let me connect to the server.
I’m not seeing any issues, Thundorstorm. Proudmoore appears to be online and there are folks logged into the realm.
Have you tried resetting the WoW client completely? Make sure you have the correct WoW license selected. Maybe click the Realms option and select Proudmoore manually.
All of your characters appear to be on Proudmoore still, not counting the others you have out there on Tichondrius and Moonguard. I assume you can still see those?
Yeah I see all my characters except the ones on Proudmoore. I’ve also exited the battle.net client completely and still nothing. Ive been having connection issues with Proudmoore for days (random huge lag spikes) but it only seems to affect that realm.
I tried most of those troubleshooting steps, reset my UI, reset my PC, exited battle.net, disabled addons etc. Nothing seems to be working? It also just randomly happened during a disconnect I had when I was world questing? I find it’s happening a lot recently where when I go to take off with skyriding I’ll disconnect, so it was one of those times. It’s also showing the realm now and the number of characters but when I go to click on it none of them are showing up? Does the realm not like me anymore?
I also woke up to a missing character today and I have no idea why. I am pretty sure I didn’t delete it as I was leveling it to play in season 1 so I am super confused right now. I’ve submitted a ticket and done the same steps you have but it still won’t show up anywhere ):
Was it on the Proudmoore realm? 19 characters are missing for me right now but all from Proudmoore. It also seems that the realm knows they’re there, it just won’t let me see or select them.
No it is on Stormrage. I logged in to an empty slot with my level 73 rogue missing. And I am pretty certain I didn’t delete it and the restore option is disabled so I can’t even check.
A level 73 Human Rogue was deleted recently. So that one does appear to be inaccessible until the Character Undelete option can be turned back on. We do hope that it is soon, that continues to be the goal as we know there are many out there who are trying to recover some previously deleted characters.
I did try posting on the Technical Support forums but so far no luck. Any idea what else I should do? I’ve tried everything and keep relogging to see if it’ll fix itself.
Will you stop with the completely out of left field conspiracy theories?!?! Nothing in what Vrak said is even CLOSE to what you are reading into. Like literally you seem to be doing this stuff on purpose now just to create as much chaos as possible. Yes, we know you have an agenda and are going to attack Blizzard every chance to get about the restore feature.
I am so confused because I definitely did not delete it and nobody else has access to my account. I’m sitting here trying to figure out how it could have possibly happened because I was playing the rogue last night and doing delves. Then, I wake up to it being gone and somehow deleted. Just really odd. I feel like if someone hacked my account they’d take all my gold too but everything else is how it was when I logged off last night.
The ONLY thing I can think of is this post Character Deleted Improperly and when I logged out I decided to delete another alt that was taking up space and when I did that, it somehow reverted to the the rogue and deleted it instead. But I feel like I would have absolutely noticed that I just deleted the character that I was wanting to play.
I think maybe I didn’t convey my message right here? It seems my entire realm is gone including 19 characters. It seems the issue I’m having isn’t the same as what some of you are seeing?
Yes, I’m afraid you usually do, and all the subsequent nonsense ends up getting multiple posts deleted.
While I dislike using the word “never”, because I’ve been surprised before, the idea that the character undelete option would not be turned back on is simply not a possibility.
I’m not entirely certain what to tell you, Thundsorstorm. The realm appears up. I’ve logged into it myself and saw others players going about their day.
I don’t know why it seems to appear offline to you.
Have you tried switching realms completely, logging into a character there and maybe tried switching back?
Agreed. It would be an odd thing to do and not take gold or anything else. Looking at the access history no one else appears to have logged into the account. From what I can see you were logged into your level 80 Human Mage for about an hour and eleven minutes, then into your Rogue for 8, then into this character.
About 7 hours later the Rogue character was deleted. There may be some gaps in character access that I can see, logging in and out, etc… but that seems to be the general timeline.
