Price hikes for OCE

Not really a big deal when they announce US sub price moving to 24.95/mo in summer

Lol,

It’s going to take a long time for that to see fruition. But until then, you’re gonna have to pay up because of monopoly money.

And if it gets bad in the United States…
I have dual citizenship… And it’s not on the North American or South American continent.

Mine arrived via hand written letter via the post.

Its also plastered all over mmo champ and wowhead

At least we hjave those sweet sweet aussie servers with our amazing latency…until we are forced to play on a us server @200ms.

Well worth the price hike O.o

Well you brought it up and your answer was extremely biased. If you don’t think we should be talking about those things, don’t talk about them.

Inflation is a rise in prices. Prices are a function of supply and demand.

When supply decreased because of COVID induced supply chain problems and demand remained the same, the only thing that could happen is an increase in price.

Because of “offshoring”, our country does not control supply.

Which, as we all know, is operated by kangaroo. Everything I learned about Australia is from cartoons

Even with this little increase, it will mean that it will force some people to stop paying for their subscription. It’s unfortunate, really :frowning:

How is it that my comment was being biased? There was nothing biased about my comment.

Our dollar is now buying at 0.63 USD. At the time before the last federal election, our dollar was buying at 0.67 USD. Our currency is losing value because our government here is so tied in politics, the damages he is doing to the Australian economy is causing our currency to lose value. That is not being biased, that is a straight up facts.

That is the reason why prices for Blizzard services has gone up for Australians, because our currency is losing value from the politics at play. As mentioned, this is a highly political topic, should not be discussed at all.

There’s never been a burger price increase.

I get the reason for it, it’s equalising the dollar value between US and AU. Not happy about it, but I get it.

But I’m also willing to bet my entire life savings that if the AUD ever gets stronger the prices won’t go back down

What I find offensive isn’t price increases as such, it’s the fact that quality is at an all time low, they are recycling content at a rate never seen before and just are doing an all round terrible job.

I’d pay $40 a month if the blizzard quality returned and every patch wasn’t a recycled timeless Isle.

Does this mean we’ll now get the day/night cycle fixed, and the in-game calendar fixed for local times/events. And our stuff returned from lost guild vaults,? Seeing as we’re now paying the same cost as the US but “getting less”.

I’d be impressed by their market valuation if it also went down when the dollar went the other way…

Me paying more out of my bank account in my currency just means that I am starting to wonder if I am getting my money’s worth (its not ultimately a matter of the exchange rate, its that I am personally out of pocket that much more each month). It’s been a concern for a while now and all this just makes it more difficult to appreciate, given the way its difficult to justify ‘new content’ as being that.

Maximum recycled content. Minimal content per patch. Annual expansions and one major content patch per expac. Costs of development can’t be up.

Anyway I’ve wanted to quit my wow addiction for a while. Just cancelled my sub.

300 AUD a year plus expansion costs is just too much. Thanks for helping me quit blizzard.

Two months of wow sub is now a AAA game on steam.

Only chance of that happening is if Stockholders never had a say in anything.

It’s a shame the Riot MMO keeps getting pushed back. Would’ve been nice to have that to look forward to, shame it’s still many years away.
